"Now that one, that's more rare. If you remain within five feet of it, you'll be taking damage from its fire constantly. If we can hit it with cold, we can rid ourselves of it. When it's been largely destroyed, it'll explode in flame, much like my necklace fireballs."

Allarnon and Tarkir tag team the poor blast shadow. Kaylayne throws a pair of stones at the blast demon, but fails to hit once. Lief slides in and attacks the blast demon, connecting with a critical bolt! Dimitrio hammers a nice critical on the blast shadow though he takes 2hp damage from the smoke (holding your breath didn’t help but it was a good idea).
The blast shadow drops to Dimitrio’s stoke, and explodes, hitting the party with its fiery smoke.

Oops, their AC is 19 not 21. So a couple extra hits this round.
Ederin connects with a pair of shots. Allarnon, though he takes damage on a few of his attacks, digs in and hammers away along with Tarkir. Kaylayne launches a pair of stones at purple and connects once! Lief takes on the green and finally takes one out (so much for my flanking next round). He does less damage than he hopes, but he's still down. Dimitrio connects and also does full damage.

(don’t forget to roll to stabilize Tarkir) Kaylayne flies into place dodging the attack of opportunity. Lief takes another shot, but just fails to connect. Dimitrio connects again, continuing to whittle away at purple as his dagger gains scorch marks from their acidic skin (can’t get past your hardness, but acid is etching the blade).

As you travel to the Academy, you pass along a wide lane marked along the sides with dozens of dramatic elven statues. A small cluster of elves surround a figure standing on some sort of small platform on one side of the wide, tree shrouded avenue. He’s preaching doom, and the destruction of the city, thanks to the vain nature of the Azlanti and their wicked ways. Not content with leaving it there, he heaps a pile of guilt on the throng surrounding him as well, siting several areas in which, he feels, the elves are lacking.
The group chants and prays for the coming catastrophe, filling the air with menace and melancholy. As you pass somewhat near them none in the crowd seem to notice you, but the leader does. He calls out your sins in a general way - largely slighting your lineage as non-elves and, as you’re bristling with weaponry, as low and violent sorts of people.
You push on, and reach the Academy of the Arts. It’s absolutely beautiful. There’s an elven man at the door, clearly looking for folks who may approach, or even walk near. It takes him an enormously long time to notice you as you walk up in plain sight, but see you he does, eventually.
”Come, hurry, there is little time.” he calls, and motions you inward to the foyer. There you are rushed to the east and into the chamber which once held the Aboleth. Or rather will someday hold the Aboleth. The twisted black gate and dark pool do not appear here. Instead there is a bright gate, open to a wonderful city, filled with elves. The air seems brighter on the other side of the gate, but it’s hard to tell through the dark filter you find yourselves in.
They motion you toward the gate, ”Quickly, before the sky falls down upon us, you must flee!” There are several elves here moving around, carrying boxes of gear and artifacts through the gate to the other side.

Lief stops in his tracks, unhappy with being called out, and unable to hold his tongue. "It is your lineage that's in question here. It is an elven plague, you ignorant blatherer. Your race will be contaminated, and a new breed of black elf will rise to try and bring you down. And we're stricken with trying to stop it, to fix the problem you created." Satisfied, he doesn't stand to listen to any retort or rebuttal.
Lief comes to stand at the doorway into the foyer. He takes it all in. The retreat into another gate, the elven city that lies beyond. He looks on it, trying to understand what specific city it may be.

"What do you mean? We should go through that gate!? It looks safe enough and if Nolveniss is here, he's going to die here...and I say let him. If this is an escape, we should take it or assume he has taken it. No need for us to be stuck here in this time-forsaken...uh...time."

Dimitrio looked around for any clues as what was going on; he approached the elf ushering them on, "So... where exactly is this going? Can we come back or is it a one-way trip?"

"Calm down he says." Ederin rolls his eyes as the panicked bard goes to speak with the elf.
"Didn't the elves say they retreated somewhere just before Earthfall? It's probably where they dug in till they figured it was safe. Not a bad plan really, but I don't see how it's gonna get us home."
He shrugs and tries to get a better look through the gate, to convince himself that this isn't, in fact, their ride out of this weird place.
"I don't see why we didn't just let the gate close anyway. Why do we need to be here finding Nolveniss when we coulda set up camp around his only known exit back in our time?"
