Morkeleb the Mighty
Morkeleb is a bit shocked that they came across the Queen and her retinue so abruptly, but his recent experience with death (twice!!) has him on edge enough that his wits are sharp.
Determined to not be as useless in this fight as he was in the last, he immediately lets loose with his most potent magic, something that could change this field immediately.
His staff flourishes, ending in a broad sweeping motion that literally covers the field in his trademark green light, with motes gathering around the heads of ALL the enemy humans in the room.
Mass Hold Person. All bad humanoids affected. Will save 27 please. Muahaha.
Dungeon Master S
DC 27?! Holy crap!
Morkeleb's legendary power is put on full display:
Red Maiden: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Black Maiden: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Round 1
Though ready for danger, the ranger was a little caught off guard to find the Queen herself. Grym reigns in the desire to go full-tilt boogie advancing on the enemy w/ both blades out. In half a heart beat he decides to make use of his protective magic while he still can. Seeing the hellhounds and knowing Bucho is going to want to take the fight to them, he casts Protection from Energy on his faithful dog.
The dog moves forward a few steps but holds his charge...
Dungeon Master S
Grym prepares for the fight as the held foes try again to resist Morkeleb's spell:
Red Maiden: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Black Maiden: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
White Maiden: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Ok casters prep the field let us melee know when to go, and for the love of everything spread out a bit.

Morkeleb raises and eyebrow, and takes an unusually wry tone. I have incapacitated half the field! How much more "prep" do you need?? By all means, go in--enjoy yourself! I'll work around you.
Dungeon Master S
As Sandor grows and Morkeleb gives the okay, the hounds go on the offensive. The three charge forward and all of them unload a massive cone of fire. At least 2 hit everyone:
Red gets EVERYONE, but Sandor. REF DC 21 for half of:

1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16

Gaius is a blur as he jumps and rolls around fire. He somehow manages to avoid the full fires of Red and Black, but takes the full brunt from White...
Which puts him DOWN, because he was too stupid to heal up after the last battle!
Somebody got a potion or something?
Gaius is at -8 and dying.
Dungeon Master S
Due to the nature of PbP, I'll allow retcon healing, but not retcon buffing. I figure you'd know if you were injured, but you wouldn't know what to expect at the bottom of the stairs.

Everyone gets back 28 before the fight.
Gaius casts Dismissal at White.

Two gouts of flame are no problem for the daring Gaius, but a third is one too many. He counters by trying to send one hound back to hell: Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18, but alas the spell isn't strong enough to do it.

reflex save 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23

makes all saves, w/ evasion takes no damage
Bucho reflex save 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33
reflex save 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
reflex save 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21
makes two saves and w/ evasion takes no damage. Only damage from second fire blast, 21 fire damage from Protection from Energy
The blocky, heavily muscled brindle dog ducks his head as the great gouts of flame wash over him in sheets. Somehow the dog shrugs off the majority of the damage, and what fire should have cooked him a little is soaked up by his master's spell.
The dog five foot steps and goes after the wounded much larger dog.
Bucho full attack 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (4) + 18 = 22
bite 1d8 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
2nd attack 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18
bite 1d8 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
The ranger moves, crouches, and at one point spins while protecting his face under his Cloak of Resistance. He remembers a few words once spoken by his old mentor, "The true danger to fire is the super heated air that you breath in. You must protect your lungs and airways..." Knowledge well used the ranger makes it through wave after wave of hellfire.
With some small annoyance he notices Morkeleb fall to the onslaught. Someone keep Mork from dying while we kill these!
With that the ranger streaks forward to support his dog. Grym gives a viscious thrust to the black one, unless Bucho's attack kills it. Then will attack the red one.
Grym attack 1d20 + 21 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 21 + 2 = 43 threatening!

extra damage 1d8 + 15 + 2 + 4d6 ⇒ (7) + 15 + 2 + (5, 6, 4, 5) = 44
Dungeon Master S
Bucho can't get his jaws on a hound, but his master certainly makes up for it. As he dashes in the hound snaps with flaming spittle flying, AoO: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (13) + 20 = 33 for Bite: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (5, 3) + 12 = 20 and Fire: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8
The hound scores a blow, but the right of way belongs to Grym. The hound dies and quickly turns to smoke, vanishing from this world.
Ferox tries to send one home forthwith Red Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 and White Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 and by the Will of Abadar's inquisitor they go.

Odric gets himself a little to close to the Chaos Hammer, and suffers a minor wound from it (Odric takes 4 points of damage.) He brings his full power down on the queen. His first swing misses as she's not where his eyes told him she was. The second hit is diretly in the sternum, nearly killing her outright. His third swing connects only because the Chaos Hammer slowed her down.
The third hit causes her to react unexpectedly. She suddenly becomes rigid and motionless. A split second later, her features run red as she melts swiftly into a pool of blood.
She was some form of variant simulacrum!
The lone guard unparalyzed by Morkeleb lets out a scream at the sight, clearly resolving to fight to the death in order to join her queen.
Before the party can even comprehend what Odric just did, a saw-toothed sabre appears in front of Ferox's throat! Death: 1d20 + 11 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 11 + 3 = 16, but the horror of the scene moves his blade and it drags across the inquisitor's armor!

Round 3
The grin starting to spread across Ferox's face soon turns upside down as whatever Odric slays melts away. By the Key and the Vault, that was not the Queen! What foul trickery. We must find her. She must not escape Justice! Ferox screams inside his head. The shock of being so close only to find their quarry yet at large does not distract Ferox enough to prevent him from jumping back as a serrated blade come slashing past his throat.
Ferox snaps his bow up and takes quick aim at the new assailant. Another assassin. They're worse than rats, popping up everywhere. They'll soon learn that The Upturned Cup is more than a match for their likes. Like a bold red with notes of oak and raspberries and cinnamon, we will overpower them all with our fragrant bouquet of Justice and the sweet taste of Vengeance and the piquant aftertaste of Righteousness. We will drown them in a river of Pinot Sanguinem.
You should have bought the white, taunts Ferox to the assassin and lets loose a volley at him.
