Nius looks into the Goblins eyes and sees nothing but honesty there. She seems willing to help you in order to get revenge on the goblins that were mean to her. But you know that she will ultimately turn on you once she has the chance. It is the goblin way. That time may be many weeks from now or while you in the darkness of night.
Also, Heidmarch gives you an Everburning Torch to help in your quest.
Anything else? More questions? Are you going to take the goblin or look for clues elsewhere?

Anything else we can learn about the Goblin Guild? Knowledge (Local) might be a nice roll to throw in...

Mifune had done considerable research on city goblins and their organization. In Magnimar, the goblins are renown for getting into areas that many would consider to be impossible. Many of these goblins will make headquarters in the cities sewers. They often make their lairs around abandoned workshops or old thieve's hideouts. This can make them dangerous as they often use defenses left behind. Fortunately, their numbers tend to be small due to the cramped location.

Eekie looks at you all, The other goblins showed me the way through the smelly tunnels to the horse-killing place. I like that place, ‘cause they cut up horses there and you can see their insides and I got lots of dead horse to eat. The goblins said to steal from the big house then go back to the horse-killing place, then they ran off. It was almost sunrise and I could hear longshanks so I hid. Later I sneaked up to the big house and took some shiny things from the small houses, but then you caught me.

Nodding in agreement with Yoren's observations on the Eekie's character, Mifune eyed the greenskin with a demure smile.
"Agreed, honorable companion. We shall reconvene soon."

The goblin leads you in the early hours of night into the Lowcleft district. You pass by the Matador's Lodge and the Serpent's Run arena and quickly find the Mariska Knackery. The Knackery receives old or lame animals used up in these events. You notice Eekie's lips start to moisten as you get close to the Knackery.

Telurion has been keeping to himself as the companions traverse the city. After a while he says to the others - "It is a strange feeling, that of offering an opportunity at a semblance of redemption from one such as a goblin. I would agree everyone is entitled at least one of those, when others may think these are just for target practice... But one opportunity is all it will have..."
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Telurion is SOOOOOO insightful :D

lol... nice ya'll
A couple of you notice a shed next to the Knackery that has burned to the ground. You can see that this appears to be arson of some type.
Entering in the Knackery you see a middle aged Varisian male, covered in bloody smocks, cleaning up in the entry room. He speaks in a heavy Varisian accent and welcomes you to his knackery.

The man listens to Zondras but answers in common That building? That was nothing but a mistake, carelessness really. Anyway, you. Use be looking to buy since I don't see you carrying and maimed animals with you.
Nius thinks the man is hiding something, he seems to quick to dismiss the loss of the building to simple accident.

Sorry. Was out of town for the weekend due to business...
"Sadly, we do not find ourselves in the market for prepared animals. This one may, however, be interested in some information..."
Stepping forward as if challenging the man's resolve to remain quiet about the incident, Mifune offered a dangerous smile to the man.
"...preferably, the truth."

I am assuming Eekie is in plain sight?
Telurion keeps to the side, silently observing his surroundings and making sure the goblin behaves itself.
His companions, more used to the huge man by now, may notice that his unusual somber look usually translates into lack of patience towards those he considers lowlife, or perhaps associated to such individuals...

The proud buisness owner, Tersus Mariska, takes a long look at the heroes assembled around him. He looks deep into Eekie's eyes and then burst into tears. He lets everything loose to Jezebel. Tersus speaks in Varisian, the words nearly falling out of his mouth:
What could I do? Those little vermin have got me right where they want me! At first, I tried locks and bars to stop them, but the thefts got worse. If there’s any way in, they’ll find it!. Then
the big, creepy one, at least a foot taller than me, came one night. It put the fear right into me, I’ll tell you, lurking there in the shadows with its snuffling breath and twitching ears. It said it knew exactly where my family lives and said it’d know if I tried to go to the watch. Then they burned down my shed outside to make their point. So I’ve had to go along with them, leaving the best slabs of meat for them and ignoring the scurrying I hear down in the cellars at night. If I don’t, they’ll burn down my home and murder my family
He slouches over in the chair sobbing. He points to a hole in butchering area as tears fall from his eyes.
Jezebel Savet

Jezebel relates the story to her nonvarisian speaking companions, "Perhaps we should send this fine family to the lodge while we investigate. Much more likely to be safe there than in their own home tonight. I propose an ambush. We should hide behind anything we can find, and spring from the shadows when the little, and bigger, buggers pop out of the shadows to eat. If they think they have him cowed, surprise may be on our side."
Telurion Andoren
|
"It will give me great pleasure to be waiting for those cowards that strike from the dark, thinking they can just prey on any more defenseless..."
Nodding to the halfling, Telurion adds - "I agree with Jezebel - the first thing to do would be to guarantee the safety of this family, and then we should take this man's place here at his shop. Perhaps you can arrange for something I can disguise myself with, my friend? Some of your usual working clothes perhaps?"
"Let those sniveling bastards come around thinking they can go about their business unhindered... They are in for a nasty surprise"
Nius Darkwood
|
Nius listen carefully to the recount of the story from Jezebel and after Telurion and Zondras express their agreement to the plan Nius says:
"An ambush uhm, even tho id hate the wait, given the circumstances sounds like the best course of action."
Then looks around to see where would be a good hiding place.
Sorry for the delay, been away.
Mifune the Ronin

To the side, Mifune watched silently as he looked to the hole, and then to the others. The plans they spoke of certainly had merit, and ambushing the green skinned villains was certainly a sound idea, but...
"This one wonders...why must we contend with all of these creatures? The knacker mentioned a larger specimen amongst the green skins. Should we subdue the ringleader, the others may very well follow."

Ambush, I don't know. What if one gets away and alerts the rest? They know where my family lives... what... if they kill my daughter? the broken man says in Varisian and continues to sob and cry.
Eekie overhears the conversation, I could lead you down into the sewers if you like. I know where the hideout is. I've never been inside, but I know how to get there. It would be nice to give those short shanks a stab right in their gut it would be!
Jezebel Savet
|
"A full on assault might prove just as shocking to them as an ambush, I see merit in both."
Turning to the Varisian Jezebel adds, in Varisian, "we would have you relocate your family to our rooms at the estate before we set up an ambush. Just to try and keep you all a safe as possible."
Telurion Andoren
|
"In all honesty, I would bet more on the success of the ambush but I am no good at disguising and lurking around..."
With a smile, Telurion adds - "Now at bashing heads I am good, so lets take the fight to their hole, make them regret we ever crossed paths"
Telurion Andoren
|
"We can bet on doing both - we ambush them, but if they flee we need to chase them down - make sure they do not alert the others at their lair, and that they do not have opportunity to exact revenge upon this poor man here. If they are defeated, and we are in decent conditions, we follow-up to their hideout"
Looking around the knackery in poor shape, Telurion repeats - "Is there anything I can use to try and disguise my frame, and look more akin to you?" - he questions Tersus.
