That's Noro's answer to everything, isn't it? :P

Noro Kas |

actually its for something else, she actually likes you being a ham.
but she is refraining from being violent right now. might have to see how this pans out.

DM-Salsa |

Oh boy, I have a feeling that if Noro meets a certain NPC, I'll have to handle things very, very carefully, or else a pretty face might lose some teeth.
@Horatio: Don't worry about stupid ideas. I keep having to remind myself that not everyone has my sense of humor, and things that I find funny aren't as funny to other people.
@Thirzin: I didn't see anything specific, so let's just call it a swift action to activate. Sorry it this long to get you an answer.

Horatio A Aldebrandt |

Salsaaaaaaaaaaaa
You're such a teeeeeeeeease
Also, I could not find a decent solo version of that bloody thing :|

Thirzin Bronzebeard |

Thanks, Salsa.
And dang! I didn't suspect those feats to do so well against the goblins. I have a feeling it mostly had them dead and then the little ones burned 'em to bits.
I'm waiting to see to the response the rest of the group in regards to his adaptation ability.

DM-Salsa |

Well, half of the Gobs are dead. I didn't even bother with Reflex saves because they only have 6 HP.
So, five down, six still standing to fight.
Sorry Noro, you missed by one

Horatio A Aldebrandt |

That was fun. That was soooo much fun. Yes, I'm aware that it was dumb, but... I don't care XD
Salsa, sorry if you had plans that I just dashed to pieces.

Pavanna Alazario |

You do realise that Pavanna is going to have a strip off Horatio’s hide once the goblins are dealt with, right?

Horatio A Aldebrandt |

Of course, and it will be well-deserved. But Spoony's got a thing or two to say about the whole thing, as well. :P

Horatio A Aldebrandt |

Hey guys! Remember the last time we all had to roll survival and perception checks? Remember what happened?? :D

Pavanna Alazario |

At this rate, we’ll have to hope that Ping(!), Noro(!!), or maybe Saroune(!!!) can save our bacon....

Horatio A Aldebrandt |

Wooo! Go Noro! I think that counts as bacon-saving.

DM-Salsa |

Still no word from Olmek (Saroune's player) yet. I'm going to assume he isn't going to be free to post for a while, so Saroune is going to be having a long chat with her family until he gets back. I'll send another PM at the end of the week, and if he hasn't replied a week after that, I'm going to assume that Saroune won't be returning anytime soon.

AdamWarnock |

Well, I have been busy with some things lately. Getting ready for a family member's wedding, planning out the next couple of chapters of this game, and just working so I can pay the bills.
One of the things I've been working on, and I think that I have mentioned to at least a few of you, is a campaign setting that I'd like to run a game in. You can find it here: Aletheria Campaign Setting Player's Guide
I want to include enough info for players to build off of as well as making variants of the Elves and Dwarves that still feel appropriate, but allow for more variety with those two races, as well as introducing a couple of new races. I'm still working on this document, but I think I'm at a place that there's enough of an idea of what I want that I can ask for feedback and suggestions. I want to make a map of the area as well, but I haven't gotten around to it.
So all that said, do you guys have any comments or suggestions? You should be able to comment on the doc itself, or you can leave it here if you prefer. I'm kinda shooting for a Dark Ages feel. The great empire is crumbling and while some pockets of civilization remain, the wilds are encroaching and the barbarians are on the rise. (Or in this case, the dwarves and elves.)

Horatio A Aldebrandt |

Downloaded the doc for later perusal. =)
And yeah, I'm in four games that Olmek was running, and haven't heard anything at all. I just really hope he's alright, wherever he is.

DM-Salsa |

Same here.
That said. I'll be getting the map ready tonight and we'll be moving on then as well.

Asuriel Arktaros |

Ronnie - If you want me to pick up and cover Olmek as GM in one of the games I can keep it moving until he returns if you like.

Asuriel Arktaros |

Also - I'm starting the season 7 opener of PFS (#07-01) and I had someone drop out just as we are starting and I need another player. Any takers?

Horatio A Aldebrandt |

I've already played it, otherwise I'd jump in. It's a wicked scenario!

DM-Salsa |

That's fine. I'm under a deadline and I'm feeling crumby, so probably no post this weekend.

DM-Salsa |

A thousand apologies for the delay, but I think I know how I want to proceed. I want to try a little theater of the mind since, to be honest, getting maps prepared is my bane as a GM. More often than not, that's what slows things down on my end. If this works, I'd like to use it instead. Besides, I've never been happy with how tactical combat is represented in Pathfinder. I'm honestly tempted to handwave most of the positioning to keep confusion to a minimum. If it makes sense, then I'll probably roll with it.
Although, if I'm being honest, a large part of this is I'm lazy, and making map set up is a chore.

DM-Salsa |

They do, but I have to do the fog of war, hence the lazy part. Besides. I was going to make it so that all of you could fight instead of the ones on point. The maps were designed with parties of four in mind, not eight. Then there's the fact that this is supposed to be a maze.
Basically, it comes down to I'd rather write and let you guys picture it rather than have to prepare a picture. If you guys really want a map I can provide one, but if I can get away with not having one, I'd rather do that. Chalk it up to Lazy GM is Lazy.

Asuriel Arktaros |

Hey you're the boss man, you lead we'll follow in your step. I'm absolutely cool with theater of the mind. And as long as Noro and Thirzin can punch/smash things I'm pretty sure they are in line too.

AdamWarnock |

Just a reminder. I'm working on a campaign setting player's guide for a game I want to run. I'll be posting the link to it below. Again, I'd like any feedback you guys have. I know it's not done, but I am getting closer, and I'd like to get the feedback now before I start cleaning things up and revising stuff to flow better.
Just a few things that I have not mentioned in the doc:
-I'm replacing the current magic system in Pathfinder with Spheres of Power.
-I'm going for a Fall of Rome feel with this. The great empire is dying and all sorts of nastiness is encroaching on civilization. Decadent civilization, but civilization none-the-less.
-I'm not going to be allowing alternate racial traits. I'm creating a mess of new races for the players and myself to use instead. (Still have nine race sections to do.)
-There's a heavy Gaelic/Scandinavian influence here. I'd like to keep with that.
Thanks in advanced, you can comment on the doc here: Aletheria Campaign Setting Guide

Olivius_Telraven |

So, I may or may not be setting your document on fire with grammar suggestions. Feel free to ignore my nit-picking as you will...

AdamWarnock |

I should have asked you to be my editor. :P
It's all good. I know what I meant to write, and that's what I see unless I go back with a fine toothed comb.
I'll definitely keep your suggestions in mind. I did ask for help in a couple of games I'm in and on the homebrew forums here and on the GitP boards (The forums for Order of the Stick.) Trust me when I say you'll likely not be the last to point out my lack of grammar-fu.

Horatio A Aldebrandt |

Sorry for my silence. The last few days have been really rough, and I've had to take a step back for my own mental stability. I'm back now, and I should be able to resume some semblance of a normal posting schedule.
However, I will be out of town from Friday night to Sunday night (my time). The fella and I are having weekend in Victor Harbour to recharge our batteries, and I may not be able to post. If it holds things up, bot me.
I prefer to have maps, just because I'm awful at imagining things. However, if you want to run this without a map, I'll try to cope with that. It makes sense for a maze.
I'll peruse your doc a little later, once I've caught up on everything. I might do as Olives, though, and go to town on spelling and grammar. >.>

Horatio A Aldebrandt |

*reads gameplay*
*headdesk*

Pavanna Alazario |

/me does likewise
on both counts
I know that feel, Ronnie. Getting a lot of mileage out of Asuriel’s only having 9 Wisdom, aren’t’cha, The Rising Phoenix? :-P

DM-Salsa |

Be glad this isn't Fate. the mechanics actually reward acting in character even if it's detrimental to the party's goals.
That said, things are about to get interesting.

Asuriel Arktaros |

Aw c'mon guys, chins up! Do you really want to play a game where we march right in, skipping and singing with hands on each others shoulders telling how awesome we are?! We need some dirt, grit and PERSONALITY in this baby!
That being said, I apologize for forthcoming difficulties.

Noro Kas |

DM-Salsa |

So, I decided to try something different with the initiative to see how it goes. It should help prevent some of the rocket tag that the other way was prone to.
On another note, I'd like to thank Asuriel for giving me an early birthday present. I'm so happy this happened because I get to throw even more zany goblin hijinks your way for this part. :D
By the way, Talking is a free action, so you can give a shout to someone else even if it's not your turn. Just a reminder.

Horatio A Aldebrandt |

For the love of god, what is this?!

DM-Salsa |

The short version, Asuriel pricked her palm and alerted over twenty enemies to your presence while Ping and Sprig were scouting.
The post is here: http://paizo.com/campaigns/DMSalsaPresentsTheRiseOfTheRunelords/gameplay&am p;page=58#2854
Given that you haven't said anything about the hungry, hungry goblins, I will assume that you are still catching up and let you figure out what is happening with the party.

Horatio A Aldebrandt |

... now these are some serious shenanigans.
