Does anyone have any thoughts? If all of you say no to someone, then there's no reason for me to pick them. I have some thoughts, but I'd rather not color what you are thinking just yet.

I haven't heard from Pennate, so unfortunately, they aren't going to be able to have a say in this because I need to get this on the road. and it's been three days since I closed recruitment. I know you guys said only two, but given the general attrition that happens in PBP, and the fact that there have been some really good submissions, I'm going to be selecting three. I had intended this to be more of a dialogue, but I guess that I didn't make that clear enough. C'est la vie.
That said, I want to apologize to Zak. I know you said Lucius and Khurgan, but I'm not going to be picking either of them. Lucius' player really didn't give much beyond he's a thief from Akiheton for a background. Khurgan's player is a good guy and I play with him on a different board, but I'm not certain he could keep up, otherwise, he'd easily be in my short list.
Sithinelor, Prim and Kitten all have interesting and flavorful backgrounds that I could use, but we already have a kobold and a drow in the party. While it's not a bad thing, I'd rather have some more normal, or at least normal looking, members to the party.
Rhyn and Morgan, unfortunately, didn't really spark with me. I think if there was some more personality to their backgrounds or if they'd expanded them a bit I might feel differently.
This brings me to the ones I really, really want in the campaign. Dr. Monroe's background is well written and really helped the character come alive. I've played with Issengrim's player before and I respect him and know he isn't going to pull any funny business. Issengrim has a few hooks that I could exploit, so that doesn't hurt either. It's the same with Sannah. Zendara looks to be a pretty interesting character and I wouldn't mind giving her player a chance. There's also a hook or two there as well. Sannah's background doesn't have any obvious hooks, but there's plenty there to build around and I could have some very interesting arcs dealing with both her and Dr. Monroe.
And now I need to make a decision. Honestly I want to take all of them, but then the game gets too hard to manage with seven people. I'll probably pull one of them in as a replacement for Pennate if they don't show up soon. I think I know which three though.

As I said, my name is Adam. I'm a web developer and systems analyst at a local IT company and have been working there for over six years. I got started with Pathfinder a little earlier than that and have been at it ever since. I've played a couple of GURPS games, but that's about it as far as TTRPG experience goes.
Hello and thank you! I'm also a UK based software developer (used to be in games but now I work on browsers). I was introduced to D&D when I was 12 and have played on and off ever since. I've got two small kids and mostly post once they and the wife have gone to bed. I used to play MMOs but don't have time for that anymore.
It'll be interesting to see what Sannah makes of Dr Munroe as they have a similar day job.

My name IRL is Suzanne, and I work for a large Q&A website. I'm in charge of content quality for user-generated content (translation: editing and rewriting), and also community management (you know: being nice to people professionally, even when you have to block/ban them).
I was introduced to D&D when I was in Junior High I think, played a little in college, and took the Pathfinder split when they broke up with D&D. I'm fairly new to play-by-post. Tried it many years ago in a couple of games that fell apart quickly, but since then have just been in in-person games. Moved a couple of years ago away from New York and lost all my regular weekly groups, and haven't had the chance to play. Then about a month ago, someone in a Dark Sun group was recruiting for his game here, and I realized I missed playing a lot and this might be a more functional way to do it.
Very interested to see where the story goes, and glad to have the chance to be a part of it. :)

As I said in the recruitment, going to re-do Sannah's weapons to reflect Adam's ruling that she could use weapons from the Fighter Monk weapon group.
I was also toying with the idea of also taking the Vow of Peace - it presents some interesting role-play opportunities, but might also just be a big pain in the ass :)

Egryzon's player is currently busy with real-life stuff, so he may be a little slow posting for now. I plan on kicking things off tonight if I have the energy. If not, it'll be tomorrow.
Drausk, I was really happy with how things were going with your intro so I'll just be building off that. Zak and Egryzon are going to be getting better ones, since to be honest I was not happy with how I was getting you two involved.
This game's going to be starting off a little oddly. You'll wind up all together, but I'm trying to do it in a more organic manner than the usual you all apply of the same job posting or meet in a tavern. I hope that things will be more interesting this way and more fun for all of you.
And as far as the vow of peace goes, I wouldn't bother. This is a land of adventure and there are more things out there ready to eat your face off than not where you'll be heading a lot of the time.

We're quite a diverse group! How unusual is it to see a Kobold walking around town? I'm guessing based on NPC reactions it's not that unusual.

Alrighty, I know it's only been a week, but I hope you guys have been having fun so far. We're getting close-ish to getting everyone together, so don't worry, you'll have a chance to get to know each other soon. I hope things are moving at a good clip for all of you. I've tried to make sure that everyone's included, and I hope I've succeeded.

I'm a bit conflicted here. I like the convergence* that's happening at the smithy and part of me wants to stall to keep Red there when it happens because:
* She's the first NPC with a somewhat sympathetic character he's met
* I'm curious what the smith's problem is with her. Is it just misogyny or is there more to it than that?
The problem is I'm struggling for a reason why anyone who was there would actually do that. The sheriff is coming, and essentially the smith has let her off the hook (kind of, she's just got fired). Wouldn't it be a d**k move to detain her?
I'm probably just going to offer to check if anything is enchanted and not interfere with her story, but that feels kinda unsatisfying.

I was thinking that the Smith was actually kicking her out because he felt guilty about being bribed by the evil noblemen, and he is actually trying to save her.
I like Red too, and it would be cool to have her there. However, if you don't think it fits story-wise, we do have a perfectly legitimate reason to follow up... they wanted Audria, and they want her. We need to put the pieces together, and she is one of them.

Have to admit right now this looks pretty grim for for the PCs. The authorities will naturally side with Lord Dulci and assume group enterprise. Presumably a trial followed by the gallows. Of course I'm going to have faith it doesn't pan out that way :)
