Kids & Grand kids coming over today. Tomorrow is Christmas. Friday thru Sunday, wife and I are driving to and from Boston MA (4 hours each way) to spend time with her younger brother and his wife and I am not bringing my laptop, so next post will be Monday morning 12/29

Aladir shoots an arrow at the retreating cultist, and wounds her. Both Alikia and Ezro, seeing her ready to fall hold there actions. Hyram steps up and even though he has to strike around a corner does hit the cultist, but it is Quinn who steps up and puts her down.

A quick search of the bodies provides 2 potions of cure light wounds, 1 scroll of cause fear, 1 scroll of comprehend languages, 2 masterwork chain shirts, 2 masterwork glaives, 20 gp and two unholy symbols of Baphomet.

Hyram is relieved he contributed to the battle and did not leave it to Quinn to shoulder all of the brunt of it. He stares up the ladder. hmmm...As much as I am curious to see what she was running to, I don't like the idea of leaving anything behind us. Perhaps we should go and see what is behind the door before going up.

Aladir tells the group that he hears rushing water in the room beyond, but the door is not trapped.

Setting yourselves up, Quinn opens the door and you hear a muted roar that echoes down the walls of this hallway. Near the eastern end, the worked stone gives way to natural cave walls, just before the hall ends at an open shaft. Hanging over the edge of the shaft is a knotted rope—the other end tied to an iron spike driven into the ground. Entering the room, Aladir and Quinn look over the edge and see that the shaft drops about forty feet to water rushing from the north to the south. It looks like there is a cave with perhaps a ten foot ceiling down there.

Aladir;perception (traps);perception (listen): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 161d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
The group reforms in the main entrance room, leaving the ladder up for later, and the rope down to the water for maybe never.

Aladir visually searches the door(O18) for traps, and finding none puts his ear to the door, announces to the group "not trapped, and I do not hear anything" and then steps back to let Quinn and Hyram open the door.

Opening the door you see in the southwestern part of this room, stout stone chairs surrounding a block of larger stone that serves as a table. The table’s top strewn with bone dice and cracked clay jugs. Stained canvas pillows rest on the chairs. A copper bowl filed with coals hangs from the ceiling, filing the room with warmth and an orange glow. In the southeastern corner there is a hole in the floor with a rope ladder hanging down. In the northeastern corner, a door is open and the narrow hallway slopes downward steeply. The walls are stained with foul-smelling streaks of refuse. A mound of rotting garbage lies heaped at the far end of the hallway.

Move action to T-30, free action to drop bow, then draw sword.

Taking a moment to inspect the room, Alikia's mind races. Noticing that the woman has engaged with Quinn and Hyram, she settles on what to do. "Hosilla, I presume." She practically spits out the name, before starting her summoning ritual.

Full-round action to summon a celestial Eagle. It will appear on Alikia's turn and last for 3 rounds. (2 for level + 1 for Summoner's Charm)

Aladir rushes into the room, drops his longbow on the table and draws his sword as he prepares to join the combat. Quinn steps so he is flanking the woman and swings at her but misses. Hyram(bot) swings at the woman, hits her but does a small amount of damage. Ezro(bot) stays where he is, guarding against anything coming from the south. Alikia starts to cast a spell. Hosilla yells, "after I kill the filthy human, you are next!" and she wounds Hyram with her glaive.

"No quarter for this one," Quinn says, surprisingly calmly. "I'll not suffer her to live any longer." Quinn casts aside the morningstar, grasping at Hosilla before she can cast any more spells.

Aladir moves around Hyram to the far side of Hosilla, and demands her surrender as he swings and misses. Quinn attempts to grapple her while letting the room know that her surrender is not an option, but is not able to. Hyram yells back at Hosilla, swings his longsword and hits, but again only does a small amount of damage. Ezro, seeing that several of his comrades are injured, appeals to Iomedea to heal some of their wounds, and Quinn and Hyram are grateful for the blessings. Alikia eagle critically bites Hosilla and wounds her.

Hosilla continues to attack Hyram, missing with her glaive.
