Here's the discussion thread for off-scneario roleplaying and general discussion.

DM Kludde |

That should actually be fine. Technically, the table can be run with seven players.

Thank you for the reminder message. I hadn't forgotten, but I had grown tired of navigating to the game thread through my Alias page.
As I've never played with a familiar, how should I handle Korvus, Malena's raven familiar, during this game? Will it do what I tell it to and therefore I control Korvus as well, or will you, the DM, control the raven?

DM Kludde |

Kudos to Mr. Bub for suggesting ;-)
As for familiar: you're in the best position to control your familiar - you should know best what its abilities are.

Wait to you see my Silver Raven Figurine of Wondrous Power.

DM Kludde |

It was suggested I briefly recap the following:
The pacing/tempo of the PbP game the GM wishes to set.
I’m accustomed to driving at a good pace, and I think lingering too long on a minor choice (i.e. spending two days to open a door) is a waste, so I’ll try and move forward whenever possible. Let me know when I’m going too fast. I typically run a single scenario in 3-6 weeks (typically 4).
How frequently you will post as the GM.
At minimum once per day, but my target rate is higher. I’m on GMT+2 at the moment, and I tend to post mornings and evenings. Especially in my evenings, I will post as much as I can.
How frequently the players are expected to post. (Including how long they will be given before being put in “Delay”.)
During combat, the target rate is resolves at least one round per day. Out of combat, I don’t have hard expectations, just keep the game moving. I’m using a delay system of 36 hours during combat: if you haven’t posted within 36 hrs of your turn coming up, I’ll ask any other player to come up with a move for you (within reason), and keep doing so until you check back.
What the player inactivity level (in days) will be before the player is dropped/replaced. (As well as what level of credit a player will get should they quit/get dropped.)
I usually send a gentle PM whenever I suspect inactivity. I’ll use the guiding principle of ‘three encounters’ as per the rules, but I generally treat every case by itself.
What process combat will follow. Including how initiative will work, posting expectation, how the GM prefers die rolls to work in combat, et cetera.
I use block initiative, but I keep track of original initiative order. During combat, I’ll put up a block of bolded names to indicate whose turns are up.
Where maps are hosted, and the expectations the GM has for their use.
I’ve put links up top. Let me know if you can’t see the map, or if you think I didn’t update it right. I’ll move all token, so please be clear where you want your token to go - the more precision, the better. At the start of combat, there’s usually a point where I just have to put everyone in some kind of position, so it helps to get some guidance on who is in front, who is in the back.
Any other expectations and processes the GM wishes the players to follow.
I shed tears of joy when people put up good roleplaying posts, that is really the best that can happen here. Other than that, I cannot possibly know all the rules. Feel free to correct me if I get something wrong, or if you suspect I did something wrong. If it gets lengthy, please discuss in the discussion thread.

DM Kludde Vesparo's faction is actually Taldor, I changed this before I started playing him, but never switched the logo on his alias - one of his traits is Taldor only, etc.
Also I'm not actually sure where we are, Absalom?

DM Kludde |

We're near the Chelisg embassy in Absalom, yes. The post this morning was incomplete - I had to run out before I could finish it. Rather than deleting the thing, I thought I'd let you read the first wall of text, then post the second part.
I've put up the faction missions. Would you mind changing the icon at some point (just so that I don't get confused when I report)?

![]() |

I cannot, but I have a request for site admin to do so lodged in the website forum.
BTW DM Kludde Vesparo has a couple of reactionary immediate action powers that require me to use them before I know the result of a roll, etc. I have tried to give an idea with the OOC post in my alias, can you let me know if you are happy with that or how you would like to handle them? Both are immediate actions.

DM Kludde |

Ah, ok. It's not that important. I'll try and keep in mind you're a Taldan (otherwise just put it in the stat header)

DM Kludde |

I'm not going to interpret it that strictly: the description says you can reply, so I'm interpreting it as allowing communication as follows:
one of you to Amara Li
Amara Li to all of you
In other words, it does not allow communication between the adventurers (unless you relay via Amara Li)

![]() |

Cannot seem to see anything under the Taldor faction mission, I can see all the others - though I have not read them, not that it matters much.

DM Kludde |

Should be fixed now. I have a lot of handouts to track today :)

![]() |

Thanks DM Kludde, and yes seriously I don't know how you manage it I sometimes struggle with running one game!

DM Kludde |

Does that mean you're not joining? You can switch in another character if you want.

DM Kludde |

We're still in the first encounter - you can still join without messing the story up too much, but it'd have to be soon...

DM Kludde |

I'd say it provides cover, since it's on the diagonal.

DM Kludde |

Wow. Just wow. You guys are absolutely burning through this.
Since I'm seeing this ending soon, I'd to establish a little procedure: there's a point where we roll for boons. To make this completely unambiguous, I want you to roll a single d20. This determines the order at which I will roll for boons (highest first) once I have everybody's rolls. I'm included myself. In case of a tie, I'll let alphabetic order of forum character name decide (mine is 'DM Kludde');
DM Kludde's boon order roll: 1d20 ⇒ 14

![]() |

I would prefer a more random decider for ties, can you not simply reroll for the tied parties?
Vesparos Boon Order Reroll: 1d20 ⇒ 7

DM Kludde |

Sure, if you prefer. If you find your roll has been rolled already, roll another d20 as a tie-breaker. If you find your roll has been rolled by someone else, roll a tie-breaker as well.
Honestly, I could just've gone with announcing the order, then rolling it, but random is good. Always happy with random.

DM Kludde |

Here's the rolling order so far:
19 - Mogall
15 - Malena
14 - DMK
10 - Cressyk
?? - Vesparo
?? - Nils
?? - Rhanloi
Can I also have PFS#s and -- if relevant -- day job rolls, so I can start preparing chronicles? The adventure hasn't ended yet, though (!)

![]() |

Rolled a 7 for Vesparo :) Day job roll includes bonus for the Theatre Vesparo is purchasing with PP.
Perform Acting: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20

DM Kludde |

19 - Mogall
15 - Malena
14 - DMK
10 - Cressyk (DJ none)
7 - Vesparo (DJ 20)
2 - Rhanloi (DJ 27)
?? - Nils

![]() |

Yes wow, looking at less than two weeks! Damn, Sir dammmmmn! Very nice :) And best of all Vesparo got to dance!

DM Kludde |

Here's a roll for Nils/Bilzabub: Boon order roll: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Vesparo, it looks like a tie-breaker with you then - please roll a d100, higher roll gets the earlier spot:
Tie-breaker: 1d100 ⇒ 29

DM Kludde |

I've opened up a new thread for the Cyphermage dilemma here.
I didn't get a reply for everyone whether they want to join, please dot in in the discussion thread if you do. There's also a gameplay thread you can dot, so it tracks on your campaigns tab.
- Please take the time you need to update your character.
- Please feel free to select any (available) character to play with, it doesn't have to be the same character as the one you played here (but it's nice to have the same characters!)
- Please don't feel obliged to play the next scenario. If - for whatever reason - you don't want to join, that's fine, just let me know.
I've selected the 'cyphermage dilemma' because it's from the same season, and at least four of you favoured it.
Finally, if there's anything I can do to improve the PbP experience, let me know, either here, the other discussion thread or by PM.
I'll be sending out chronicles later today, but there's still room to interact with the ambassador, or have a debriefing with Ambrus.

![]() |

Wow. You guys burned through the end of that. Sorry I tailed off, but I was traveling and otherwise tied up the last few days.
Nils doesn't have a day job and his Pathfinder # is 2505-3. I'll check in on the next game and will use my (hopefully) 2pp to purchase a wand of clw.
Let me know if you need anything else.
