Horatio Flynn |

Quick Side Note: I went back and looked at the map again and had moved Horatio a 5 Foot step inside the room that Amen-set is in. If he's smashing a door inward and has to suffer a Fortitude Save from the fog in the room beyond then I think that means he should be in the room (but I'm not sure).
Anyway, I moved him a 5 Foot step from his last position which puts him right next to Amen-set.
I still need the update on the map regarding the location of the fog, though, so I know what's up and what Horatio can see and do before he acts.
Dhaavan, if you're able to Summon something, any chance we can get an Air Elemental? If so, it could use the Whirlwind thing to just pull the fog out of the place if Adistan's spell is unable to.
Okay, that's all for now - I need to start getting ready for work but I'll see you all tonight!

DM Immortal |

This is a statement for everybody but please stop metagaming. Unless you are giving advice and such IN GAME, I would prefer if you did not do so out of game. A couple of other things, summoned monsters will act upon the last orders they are given unless given different. Dhaavan, you are across the building and are unable to give any additional orders to your lemures that they will be able to hear through multiple thick walls while combat is occurring.
Rain's strikes hit Zarskia hard but Neko's magic missiles seem to impact harmlessly on some kind of magical shield.
Variel, your strike misses her even while blinded.
Bleed damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Zarskia hurls another vial blindly into the room, aiming where she last saw the bulk of everyone.
1d20 ⇒ 6 She missed the square she was aiming at (Dhaavan), 1d3 ⇒ 2 by ten feet. Random direction from Dhaavan starting top left and clockwise, 1d8 ⇒ 5 so two squares down and right, which will impact the wall in the square above Rain.
Rain and Dhaavan, reflex saves please or take 9 damage and become entangled from an effect similar to a tanglefoot bag. Half damage and no entangled on a successful save.

Rain Taneththir |

Since this is the last round of Haste, I believe Rain still gets the +1 to reflex saves from Haste this round.
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 1 = 24
Immortal, please let me know if that is successful or not. Thanks.
----
Spellcraft (DC 16): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
"She has a shield spell up!", Rain calls out to her allies through gritted teeth and fresh pain. (Free action)

DM Immortal |

Definitely successful Rain. Also thanks for the reminder re: will save.
1d20 ⇒ 20 Successful so she manages to avoid the hex.

Horatio Flynn |

Horatio scowls at the gas, but seeing Amen-set lying prone at his feet, he grabs her shoulder and decides on some drastic action...
Using his last round of Haste -
Horatio bends and grabs Amen-set by her shoulder and drags her behind him.
As the Haste Spell is on he is able to Move an additional 30 feet while dragging her (which he can easily do). Thus he will drag her back through the green gas (which he already made his save on this round) and drag her as far as the door near C:7. As he can drag 5x his maximum carry capacity this should be relatively easy.
Map has been adjusted accordingly...
Horatio feels the weakness on him but does not bother to check if Amen-set is alive or dead at this time - all he knows is if she still lives, she'll be dead in seconds in that room.
Amen-set and Horatio both have a 6 in Constitution at this time.
Rain: I'm a little confused - unless the caster was holding the vial in her hand, wouldn't her drawing the vial/weapon while you and Variel were threatening her mean she would suffer an AoO from both of you?
I mean, I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's accurate as both you and Variel are able to threaten her - if I'm wrong, I apologize, but I'm honestly not sure at this point so I just wanted to be sure.

Horatio Flynn |

Quick question: Who is going to bot Adular at this point? He hasn't posted on the Campaign Page for nearly a week.
If no one wants to do it, I'll bot him myself this evening - but I figured that maybe Adistan might want to do it as they're standing next to each other...

Rain Taneththir |

Immortal, I forgot Rain has lead blades on her pike, so last round's damage should have been 2d6+12 not 1d8+12 on each hit with the pike. How do you want me to correct this now? Look under first spoiler, please.
Wounded anew but not as seriously thanks to her quick reflexes, Rain ferociously strikes at the blinded apothecary, again, even as Jamba tries to reason with her/appeal to her common sense.
Two-handed Mythic Power Attack with Pike, Lead Blades and Bless (if still in effect) on Zarskia: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 7 + 1 = 25
Damage, if hits: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (6, 6) + 12 = 24
2d6 ⇒ (3, 6) = 9+12=21
2d6 ⇒ (5, 1) = 6+12=18 (remains the same)
Thus total damage would be 39 on Zarskia last round instead of 36.
HP 57/63 (50/56 HP now with CON damage), Fort save now +8, AC 23, Lead Blades on Pike, Bless from Adular. Magical Pike has a 20ft reach. 4 uses out of 5 of Mythic Surge this day.

Neko the Golden |

Neko moves along the back wall away from the effected areas and jumps up onto the counter (as part of her move action). (Not too sure which squares are currently affected with the entangle, but I believe those are clear.)
Acrobatics to move/jump onto counter in the back corner: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (18) + 17 = 35
Then the magical golden cat begins to steadily transform into her tiger form.
Tiger Form: Standard action, once per week, lasts for 6 rounds.
HP 28/28, AC (14+4=18 in tiger form, 22 in cat form), Mage Armour on herself (+4 to AC for 4 hours), Bless from Adular, SLA: 2 x Dimension Door spell out of 3 this day, 4 first level spells/7: Mage Armorx1, Magic Missilex3.

![]() |

Hemming Zarskia in from behind Variel finds it easy to lay into her as he sees Rain do the same. Spending a bit of power to recall a spell Variel roasts frostbite hoping the extra attacks and subdual damage will be enough to bring the poisoner down.
Swift to recall frostbite
Full round for spell combat
Frostbite spellstrike attack 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20 for 1d6 + 11 + 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 11 + (1) + 7 = 21 8 is cold subdual and fatigued
Normal attack with frostbite 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22 for 1d6 + 11 + 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 11 + (5) + 7 = 29 12 is cold subdual and fatigued

Horatio Flynn |

So feel free to bot Adular as a healbot as needed.
Botting for Adular -
Seeing his companions clustered near the window he watches as they struggle to open it.
Not wanting to risk trying anything with so many folk clustered around the shutters, he turns his attention to the window to his immediate south.
Raising his hand he directs a storm burst at the shutters, hoping to simply shatter them and force them open.
Range Touch Attack to hit the shutters -
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
If that hits the shutters -
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
At which point he moves up to examine them and see if they have been shattered, or if they are even still locked...
Adjusted the character on the map to move up to the shutters he attacked, hoping to break them open.
EDIT: Not sure if the touch attack on the shutters hits, but here's hoping it has done enough damage to maybe break them open. Unfortunately, I honestly can't think of anything else for Adular to do at this point, except try to help Adistan, but I assume that as long as the fog is not entering that room, and as long as Adistan remains there with Adular, they both should be be able to wait out the effects in relative safety.

DM Immortal |

The combined attacks of the party bring Zarskia down and she momentarily loses her focus, allowing Variel to whip in with his Cutlass, severing her head from her body in fountain of blood. With a wet thump the alchemist's body hits the floor.
-------------------------------------------------
Flynn, you did save once yes but you also are only able to drag things 5' per round unless there is some sort of modifier helping you (like sliding them across ice or something like that) but that is boosted by 30' for the last round of haste. That said, you have 35' of total movement that you can drag her. I have adjusted the map accordingly to where you would end up with that in mind. I do need another save for you and Amen however as won't be able to get all the way out of the poison cloud with that movement. You will get close to leaving the cloud but not fully out. 1d4 ⇒ 4 Success and you take an additional 2 points of con damage, failure and you takes 4.
Pretty much after you get out of the poison fog the battle will be over.
-------------------------------------------------
Rain, you are unsure what happened to the Kamadan but you suspect it probably died from the cloudkill.
-------------------------------------------------
Adulars Storm burst doesn't seem to have affected the window at all. Storm Burst is Non-lethal and objects are immune to non-lethal.
-------------------------------------------------
As I said, combat is pretty much over, the cloudkill spell will dissipate in several minutes.

Jamba Mumbata |

Jamba's eyes widen as Zar's head is severed from her body. As it hits the floor and rolls a few feet away, he grins. He flies down and picks it up. Holding the head by the lady's dreadlocks, he speaks to her blood filled, dead eyes. "Jamba be tryin' ta tell ya, mistress...dis no end good. Ya no listen. Now ya dead. Tsk...tsk...tsk." He tosses the head over to the corner of the room. "What kinda goody, goodies ya got fah us?" He bends down and searches her body. "Rumor is dat Zar be havin' da stout ganja!"
Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28

"Shakka" |

The skeleton bird with empty eyes appears on Jamba's shoulder. It flies over and lands on Zarskia's head. It caws eerily as it expels dark vapor from its beak. The vapor travels down his breast and enters the nostrils of the dead alchemist.
He casts Speak With Dead

Seijiro |

Seijiro watches impassively as Variel severs the woman's head, though one eye does twitch for a moment.
"We need to find the rest of our people and search this place completely.. perhaps she left some notes or journals indicating why she did the things she did and who she might be working with, yes?
"Then, I don't know about the rest of you, but I think we all need some recovery time after this... I don't feel so good."
When the fog clears, he reunites with Tomo and hugs the little monkey close, then lets him climb up on his shoulder and groom his hair.

Rain Taneththir |

At Variel's killing stroke, Rain breathes a sigh of relief, suddenly feeling every one of her wounds and ails. She looks to her betrothed, "Nicely done, Var," retracts her magical pike and wipes the blood and other gore from its metal spear and hook.
Rain then hops up onto counter for the area directly around her is covered by the substance from Zarskia's wayward vial. Her mind and general well being felt dull and sluggish.
Acrobatics (jump/hop up on counter) DC 10: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
She walks along the counter and around to where Neko in tiger form is standing (giving her animal companion's head a scratch) and looks down at Zarksia's head and the strange skeleton bird belonging to Jamba now perched upon it.
"What is your strange bird doing to the apothecary's head, Jamba?"

Horatio Flynn |

Amen-set's Fortitude Roll -
1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 4 - 2 = 17
Horatio's Fortitude Roll -
1d20 + 8 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 8 + 1 - 2 = 21
Horatio will continue to move Amen-set until they are both free of the cloud.
Once they are free of the cloud he will do what he can to check her status to try to ascertain her condition.

DM Immortal |

Flynn you succeed but Amen-set fails her save. I think that means that you are now at a Con of 4 and she is at a con of 2.
Flynn, just as you are about to get her out of the cloud, the effect that allowed you move quickly dissipates and you lose the quickness of movement that you had before, while the green gas continues its devastating path of destruction. In a split second you see your options flash before your eyes, spiraling out before you like a boat caught in a whirlpool. You see three paths before you, the first path is open...easy and certain are you that you can save yourself. The second path, you can attempt to save Amen-set, you can try and hurl her the last 10' from the fog with a surge of energy. This path is much less certain but has a greater chance than the last choice which is to try and save both of you. This path is the darkest, murkiest, and least likely to succeed, possibly killing you both, but does offer the slimmest of chances of you both surviving.
So the Haste effect wears off before you would get a chance to move again as the last round was the last of it's effects. I'm giving you the opportunity to essentially choose what you want to happen. I will say though that with only two con left, if Amen doesn't get out of the cloud this round, she will die. If you don't get out of the cloud this round, you very well could die. That said, you guys will all level after this fight so Adular will have 5th level spells and can cast Raise Dead should it be necessary.
I do need two 1d20 rolls as the first rolls in your next post to have on hand for whatever they will be needed for. On a bright note...the fight is over! :-)

DM Immortal |

Jamba, just an fyi, that spell does take 10 minutes to cast so shakka is gonna be busy for a while. You guys can do other stuff in the meantime.

Seijiro |

"Thanks for taking care of Tomo for me, Rain... I told him to stay with you until we could be reunited, I hope you don't mind."
Seijiro watches with curiosity at the antics of the odd bird. When Jamba explains what the bird is doing, he nods and smiles, "Good thing, we could use some answers."
He starts searching any areas free of cloud and goop.
perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16

Dhaavan |

reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Dhaavan sidesteps and prestigitates the excess muck away, having only taken damage to his stolen life anyway.
well, there's that then... Now where is Flynn? I'm not really sure how to get around in here, as I've never conciously traversed this building

![]() |

When the head goes flying variel winced slightly. He wanted the lady incapacitated but not dead. As Jiro said they needed answers and the dead seldom answered them. What was done was done though and nothing Variel could do could alt what was. Instead he let the others focus on the body or the head as he went over to Rain. How are you feeling dear? With everything that was going on and me blacking out Confused there for a moment I lost track of everything. Did you avoid the poisonous fog from that tentacled creature like thing upstairs?
Looking around at the others he realizes fully that half the party is missing. Where is everyone else? We need to find Adular, Horatio and Amen in this trap infested place. But no one rush off by themselves we need to take this slowly in case there are any more traps in here.
while he is talking he moves to the front door looking for a closed sign. If he finds it he hangs it out front. If not he closes and locks the door. We don't need anymore surprises with people showing up trying to get in. We made enough noise that it is possible that the local authorities might arrive as well.

Rain Taneththir |

Rain watched Shakka as the strange bird was attempting to get the severed head to speak.
"Thanks for taking care of Tomo for me, Rain... I told him to stay with you until we could be reunited, I hope you don't mind."
"I did not mind, Jiro. I am glad he is safe and returned to you."
How are you feeling dear? With everything that was going on and me blacking out, there for a moment I lost track of everything. Did you avoid the poisonous fog from that tentacled creature like thing upstairs?
"I have injury from the venomous breath of the winged lion creature and the poisonous fog as I descended the stairs. My mind and my vitality have been dulled-damaged by it. Adular cannot heal all of us once we are done here. We will need to find a temple for deeper healing if we mean to leave port soon."
Where is everyone else? We need to find Adular, Horatio and Amen in this trap infested place. But no one rush off by themselves we need to take this slowly in case there are any more traps in here.
"Flynn was by the base of the stairs and Amen trapped in a storage room filled with posionous mist by the stairs. They are in trouble. There is another prisoner upstairs in the southern chamber. According to Dhaavan, Adular is in that room also."
Rain watched as Variel leapt over the counter and made for the door to close it lest they drew further attention they did not need. Variel, there are squares around the side of the counter and toward Dhaavan that have the sticky goop from Zarskia's vial and one will get entangled if they step there.

Horatio Flynn |

Horatio will stand by Amen-set.
1d20 ⇒ 7
1d20 ⇒ 7

Horatio Flynn |

I do need two 1d20 rolls as the first rolls in your next post to have on hand for whatever they will be needed for.
Point of Clarification:
When I wrote "Horatio will stand by Amen-set" I meant to say - "Horatio will not take option one to save his own life and abandon her to death because that is who he is.
I elected option 3 - the near impossible one - to do my best to save my friend and not die myself and wrote "he will stand by her" to be more metaphorical than literal.
I have no idea what that involves or how to do it mechanically, however, only that two d20 rolls were needed (both of them were 7's).
At this point I have asked for Clarification on the rolls via an IM, as I don't know what to do at this point via mechanics.

DM Immortal |

ugh on the rolls Flynn. 1d4 ⇒ 3 So you guys are going to take 3 Constitution damage but here's what I will do. I will allow you to spend all your remaining mythic points to delay the onset of this last bit of con damage by 2 rounds. If at that point you haven't received aid of some sort, the con damage will apply. BTW, this isn't just you, I would have done the same thing with any of the party. Just an fyi.

I still am not sure what Horatio can do to help Amen-set at this point given the location of the remaining fog cloud, though I am still going over options.
That said; with Adular still gone, would you mind if I bot him for this action?

Rain Taneththir |

I'm out of town on phone, so this will be more a rundown of what I will try with Rain to help Flynn and Amen. Ask Variel to cast Haste on Rain. Double Move using Haste to Flynn, calling out to see where they are. Move through poisonous fog and will help Flynn carry Amen out of poisonous fog (carrying Amen between them) back down the poison-free corridor, moving toward front door.
Fort save vs Cloudkill: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27 Takes 1/2 CON damage.
STR check to help carry Amen: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

Horatio Flynn |

Horatio feels the slow creeping tendrils of death on him and he calls out desperately -
"We're stuck in the gods-damned hallway near the stairs and this poison cloud will kill me and Amen-set any second!"

My thanks Rain!
I'll have his action up soon; for now I'm waiting to see if others can help...

Horatio Flynn |

Adular hears the cry for help, and with a muttered curse races towards Amen Set and moves to help her... Mythic Point to quick cast.
Lesser Restoration: 1d4
Even if it means the mist may yet kill him as well.
Fort Save: 1d20+5
My thanks, Adular :)
I believe Amen-set is now at 5 Con, but Horatio is still at 2 Con.
Still waiting on the GM regarding Variel's post, and hopefully we'll be out of this mess soon!

DM Immortal |

Good team effort everyone!
Rain, and Adular you both take an additional point of con damage.
You manage to all regroup together in the lobby, completely winded and exhausted from the poison that ravaged your bodies.
Until healed, please play out any changes in ability scores due to the damage. For instance with a Con of 5 or less or so, you will have problems with any sort of exertion. Walking further than a few steps will wind you, etc. Same thing with reductions in intelligence and wisdom and the like.
You're all together now!

Horatio Flynn |

You manage to all regroup together in the lobby, completely winded and exhausted from the poison that ravaged your bodies.
You're all together now!
As the fog clears Horatio glances up at his comrades and a strange light in his eyes, his normally dour face softened with a grateful expression.
”My thanks,” he says with a hoarse voice, his body still ravaged by the poison.
Current Con is 4; Amen-set is now at 6, but she's out sleeping for another 594 rounds, unfortunately
Moving to Amen-set he studies her features and leans his ear close to her lips, then leans back – a relieved look on his face ash he feels her slow, shallow breath on his skin.
”She’s not dead – only sleeping; likely some spell by that gods damned witch,” he says with a rasp, then coughs heavily and eases himself back against the wall.
Pulling the satchel from around his side he opens it gingerly.
”I still got those healing potions if any need some,” he adds with a glance at the others.
Still have 8 Cure Moderate Potions, but it’s likely that a Channel Energy might be cost effective; also, until we refresh our Con fully, I don’t know how much the Healing Potions will do…
He takes some deep gulps of air for a moment and then lets out a slow, deep, exhale of breath as he tries to recover.
He eyes move to Adular and then back to Variel and Rain.
”You risked your necks to save me now – I won’t forget it,” he adds, then winces at the effort to talk, and despite the lack of flowery words it is completely clear he is sincere in his praise and appreciation for what the others have done for him.
Then, given the ravages on his body from the poison, the damage from the fog spell, the pain and exhaustion he feels bearing down on him – not to mention the difficulty he’s having with breathing in general – he pulls out a cheroot from his jacket and bites off the end and clutches it between his teeth as he uses a cantrip to light it.
He turns to Dhaavan.
”Begging your pardon, Lord Dhaavan,” he says to him ”do you think you might be able to send Jack back to our ship? If we can get a message to Sandara I’d ask her to send a few lads here with whatever resources we got to help us, including what potions or other things that could ease us…” he says slowly ”not to mention some bully-boys as protection, because if trouble follows we’re not likely to do much to stop it easy.”
He glances down the hall to the dead guards they had slaughtered a few minutes ago and considers their gear and skill.
”Still; this place was heavily guarded and heavily defended, I’d wager the locals won’t try anything hard no matter what they heard for fear of arousing them that used to guard it.”
He considers the satchel filled with the valuable potions and his eyes narrow thoughtfully.
”This place is so well-stocked I’d wager it might have more then a few items to heal them that suffered from that whore’s sorcery; like as not she’ll have a few scrolls or potions to ease any of her former mates from accidental damage from one of her damned fog attacks…”
He looks at the others –
”Listen to me blather… How are all the rest of you doing?” he asks them, forcing a somewhat labored expression of nonchalance on his face.
As he waits for an answer he suddenly sees a bright light flit into the hallway and he raises his hand to shield his eyes, then grins.
Lantern Archon is still in effect and has come to see what everyone else is up to…
Horatio looks at it for a moment, then turns to the others –
”Maybe this little guy can help search while we get our wind back?” he says, then turns to cough harshly for a few minutes, pausing only to take another drag from his smoke.
”Hell, I talk too much… You all did all the heavy lifting in that fight; that said, what exactly do you want to do?” he asks them.
As he waits for an answer he turns his gaze to the two men that had been in the fracas and cocks his head as he looks at them thoughtfully.
He begins to reload his pistol as he watches them, but speaks to his crewmates –
”Oh yeah; what do you want to do with this lot?” he asks his friends curiously, his eyes studying the new men very carefully as he puts the last shell in the chamber of his weapon and then lays the pistol on his lap as he leans against the wall.

Rain Taneththir |

Rain's HP currently due to CON damage: 43/49.
Ability Damage suffered: INT damage 4 (INT now 10), WIS damage 3 (WIS now 11), CON damage 3 (CON now 9).
Coming out of the poisonous fog, Rain feels her vitality ebb a little more and a pallor grows on her face. Her breath is a little laboured and she takes a moment before speaking, having heard what Flynn had to say about Amen's condition and relieved the girl was not dead and just sleeping.
"I am in need of healing. My external injuries are not great, but the poison from the Manticore and this cloud have decidedly dulled my senses, mind and vigour."
Rain tries to think as Flynn asks Dhaavan to send message to the Lady via his thrush and have some sailors come to their aid.
"This is an apothecary. Mayhap ... Mayhap this Zarskia has potions which can restore us to full capacity."
Rain moves a little slower than is usual for the Elven Pilot and is a little more distracted as she searches the areas not affected by the poisonous cloud to see if she can spy any such restoration potions.
Perception, adjusted for current WIS damage: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26

Horatio Flynn |

"This is an apothecary. Mayhap ... Mayhap this Zarskia has potions which can restore us to full capacity."
The lantern archon flies over to Amen-set and casts Aid on her, then shimmers cheerfully, then casts Aid on Rain, then Horatio and anyone else who needs it...
Horatio nods, then pulls himself shakily to his feet, struggling to maintain his dignity as the rush of pain slams into his head, the little Archon flying happily back to Rain and Variel as he stands.
"Aye, indeed, Pilot-Major," he says, his pistol now loose in his hand, his back against the wall.
"If the witch favored that fog spell in particular than it's probable she had antidotes for any of her lads that may have been wounded by it on accident."
"I saw a chest back near the pantry might have some gear and Manticore tails fetch a high price for the poison in them... Besides, I think there was a third level to this place, not to mention what may lay beneath our feet," he adds with another dry cough.
He takes a rag from his satchel and wipes his mouth and nose, trying to cleanse the burning sensation in his sinuses from the fog.
"What did you want to do with these two?" he asks her, though the question is open for anyone.
"Hell, I don't even know your names," he says, turning back to look at Adistan and Jamba.
"That said - you're pretty good in a fight, we could use lads like you," he says to them, curious to know more about them and why they were being held here.

While not severely injured as some them are Variel is by no means hale and healthy either. Listening to Horatio speak he is about to agree with him when Rain speaks up about potions here. That is a valid point Rain but are we in any condition to continue on looking for them. I mean Amen-set is knocked out, Horatio is about to fall over if he puffs too hard on that smoke there.
When Horatio mentions the 2 new folks Variel nods his head as if finally remembering them. Sticking out his hand he extends it to Jamba first and then the new guy. Captain Variel Nightstorm. thanks for helping us out there, uh what's your name again? And uh who is the new guy that we just picked up?
Looking around at the others, Uh so, what do we want to do now?
Sorry guys Variel is no longer that sharp or smart any longer and can barely cast first level spells. Who is the genius now that can come up with plans ;p
Are w all good for waiting fr Jamba to finish his spell to ask questions of the lady? Just need to know so I can wipe off all my active spells.

That is a valid point Rain but are we in any condition to continue on looking for them. I mean Amen-set is knocked out, Horatio is about to fall over if he puffs too hard on that smoke there.
Horatio cocks his head.
"The way I see it, we can't do anything else but look," he says.
"We certainly can't go wandering the streets like this the way we are now, and we can't do much else in the meantime, at least, not until we're feeling better. Hell, we can't even move Amen-set back to the ship until she wakes up, at least without taking all day," he adds with a frown.
Looking around at the others, Uh so, what do we want to do now?
Glancing at Rain for a moment, he raises an eyebrow as if to say - He seems pretty out of it - then he looks back at Variel.
'Here's what we're going to do," he says.
"Them that can move about are going to aid the Pilot-Major in searching this dung-heap top to bottom while the rest of us sit quietly and rest up - unless the padre there has any more spells to fix us up?" he says with a glance at Adular.
I believe Adular has one full Restoration and one extra Lesser Restoration, if he wants to use either on the rest of us. Amen-set still has a Con of 6 and Horatio still has a Con of 4 at this point, for what it's worth.
"While that goes on, Dhaavan is going to send Jack back to the ship and try to fetch Sandara and some lads as back-up; and also let Sandara know if she has any magical healing for what we went through to bring it."
"Unfortunately we won't be able to move Amen-set at all, well - let's just say it will take us at least ten minutes to move her five-hundred feet," he says with a frown, then continues on -
"So we simply can't move her back to the ship until she wakes up if we don't want to be spotted dragging her or carrying her through the streets."
"So, like the Pilot-Major suggested - we search this place."
"And I guess for those who can't do much to search or look around are going to station themselves at windows or doors to keep an eye out for trouble. Once we get things done and the back-up arrives, we'll be in a better position to figure out what's next," he adds.
He glances around at the others.
"Outstanding," he says, now that there is a plan and people can act on it.
Sorry for not addressing Jamba or Adistand again; right now Horatio is not sure what they'll do yet, but he's also a bit out of it.

Adistan Temmer |

"Adistan Temmer," the sailor says, bowing slightly. "I'm afraid I find myself in your debt thanks to your freeing me. If there's anything I can do to help, I owe you and will do my best. I may be able to mitigate some of the effects of these poisons, but I can't promise that the cure won't be worse than the original ill, I'm afraid."

Horatio Flynn |

"Adistan Temmer," the sailor says, bowing slightly. "I'm afraid I find myself in your debt thanks to your freeing me. If there's anything I can do to help, I owe you and will do my best. I may be able to mitigate some of the effects of these poisons, but I can't promise that the cure won't be worse than the original ill, I'm afraid."
Horatio glances at the others, then turns back to Adistan.
He reaches his hand across and grips Adistan’s hand as firmly as he is able to and shakes it.
”I’m Horatio Flynn,” he says with a nod.
He turns and stares at the others for a moment and then turns back to him.
”I can introduce you to the others, but I figure they may prefer to do that themselves,” he says as he steadies himself against the wall.
Placing his hand on his shoulder he mutters a few words –
Cure Moderate Wounds
2d8 + 4 ⇒ (7, 6) + 4 = 17
He bends over Amen-set’s form and touches her gently –
Cure Light Wounds
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Then he pulls himself up to stand and studies Adistan thoughtfully, his eyes ranging over the man’s gear.
”I have no idea what the others are planning on doing, but the Pilot-Major there’s ready to scout the place out and so am I,” he adds with a nod at Rain, then coughs again.
He puts the cheroot between his teeth and scratches his beard absently with his left hand as his right hand props the barrel of his pistol over his shoulder.
”Want to give us a hand searching the place?” he says to him.
He continues to study the man for a bit longer, then slips his pistol into the holster at his side.
”Where you from Adistan?” he asks the man curiously.
Horatio is eager to search, but he will talk while doing so.

Rain Taneththir |

Listening to Horatio speak he is about to agree with him when Rain speaks up about potions here. That is a valid point Rain but are we in any condition to continue on looking for them. I mean Amen-set is knocked out, Horatio is about to fall over if he puffs too hard on that smoke there.
Rain's eyes suddenly took on a darker look. "I never asked Flynn to aid me in my search. So, he may sit and rest while I look," and with that she continued her search. Then she quietly added, "If none are here, we find a temple and ask for healing."
Know. Local re nearest temple with INT damage factored in: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
"The way I see it, we can't do anything else but look," he says.
Rain simply nodded to Flynn's words.
"Hell, we can't even move Amen-set back to the ship until she wakes up, at least without taking all day," he adds with a frown.
"My strength is not diminished. With my muleback cords I can walk or fly Amen back to the ship, if needs be." They increase Rain's STR to 22 for carrying capacity.

Seijiro |

Seijiro nods to Adistan, acknowledging him, though they already met upstairs... "Hi, again... glad to see you and Dhaavan made it out in one piece."
Then he starts helping Rain with the search...
perc - searching: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22

Adistan Temmer |

Temmer stiffens at Flynn's casual address.
"I was born in Augustana, in Andoren, Master Flynn. I've not been home in some time, though, as I've been on the crews of various ships for much of the last several years.
"As for your companion, I may be able to help if you'll permit it," Temmer says, nodding to the ailing Amen-Set. "As I said, though, I do not know if it will endanger her soul in the process."

Adular |

"Forgive me, Rain... but I can fix one of those with the spell I have, not all. Tell me which, and I'll pray for it." He puts a hand on her shoulder energy flows.
Which ever one Rain selected gets restored 1d4 ⇒ 2 points

Adular |

"Nice to meet you lads, Adular Bluth, cleric of Besmara, and lad who is wishing he had really pressed for some requests he made ealier..." Seeing the dim look in his Captain's eyes, he works on Variel. "Let's get your wits back into ye, Captain."
Restoration ALL of Variel's Intelligence

Horatio Flynn |

Rain's eyes suddenly took on a darker look. "I never asked Flynn to aid me in my search. So, he may sit and rest while I look," and with that she continued her search. Then she quietly added, "If none are here, we find a temple and ask for healing."
The little Archon moves over to hover by Rain's shoulder and shines its light to aid her.
Archon casts Aid on Rain to help her in her Search
"The way I see it, we can't do anything else but look," he says.
Rain simply nodded to Flynn's words.
As Horatio does his best to move shakily along he still waits to hear what Adistan may say from his earlier question and is further curious to know if Adular is able to aid anyone else in the party with his spells.
"My strength is not diminished. With my muleback cords I can walk or fly Amen back to the ship, if needs be."
He turns a glance at her and nods in appreciation.
"Thanks again, Pilot-Major," he says to her with a tip of his hand to his forelock.
Then, steadying himself against the wall a bit he glances around.
"As far as things go, these guards were all carrying some pretty heavy hardware and expensive gear - well, at least for some basic security detail."
"The shutters bolted hard and didn't open, almost as if by magic..." he adds, thinking a bit as he glances around.
"All of this makes me think that if this place has so much protection then there's a reason," he muses.
He glances to Rain and Seijiro.
Seijiro nods to Adistan, acknowledging him, though they already met upstairs... "Hi, again... glad to see you and Dhaavan made it out in one piece."
Then he starts helping Rain with the search...
After hearing Seijiro's response, he coughs a little and then shakes his head to clear it a bit.
"Jiro-san; when I was with Amen-set fighting that poxing caster we saw a small chest back in the pantry."
"Didn't have time to get a good look at it, but you're handy enough with traps. Want to come see if you can make anything of it? I mean - if it's trapped, I'd rather have a professional tackle it," he adds.
As he waits to hear if Seijiro or Rain are interested in this development, he hears Adistan's response.
Temmer stiffens at Flynn's casual address.
"I was born in Augustana, in Andoren, Master Flynn. I've not been home in some time, though, as I've been on the crews of various ships for much of the last several years.
Horatio eyebrow raises in surprise at this.
"Really?" he says with a small, strange grin on his lips.
"Interesting..." he adds.
As he waits for the others to offer their ideas, he makes a little more small talk.
"I'm from Sargava myself; Royal Navy for a few years - but not anymore," he adds with a brittle smile.
"Still, it's good to see someone who knows his way around a ship," he adds, his eyes straying to Adistan's weapon.
"Would have thought you for a rapier man myself - still, we all got our preferences, I imagine," he says after a moment, then shrugs.
As he waits, he notices Adular move to Rain.
"Forgive me, Rain... but I can fix one of those with the spell I have, not all. Tell me which, and I'll pray for it." He puts a hand on her shoulder energy flows.
Horatio says nothing but merely watches.
He knew it was a fact that Rain had lost a small amount of her health helping him with Amen-set in the cloud, but he also knew that he himself was barely able to stand up, and he had doubts about Amen-set standing fully as well - whenever the sleep spell wore off, that is.
Still, it was possible that the priest was prepared to help him in a moment - after all, the man did have several spells at his disposal.
Seeing the dim look in his Captain's eyes, he works on Variel. "Let's get your wits back into ye, Captain."
Restoration ALL of Variel's Intelligence
The forced sense of light-heartedness fades from his features as he watches Adular focus his full healing on the intelligence of Variel while both he and Amen-set are still near death.
He says nothing, but merely shrugs.
Horatio is still at 4 Con and Amen-set is at 6 Con.
As he waits he forces his back straighter and turns a glance back to Adistan.
"As for your companion, I may be able to help if you'll permit it," Temmer says, nodding to the ailing Amen-Set. "As I said, though, I do not know if it will endanger her soul in the process."
Horatio lets out a brief bark of laughter.
"Well, I'm all for any help you can give her - but maybe not as eager to do that which endangers her soul," he says with a sardonic gleam in his eyes.
"Amen-set is one of the most lawful and good people I've ever sailed with, though there are some that don't see it that way," he says with a droll grin at the ceiling, as if challenging the gods themselves at his assertion, then turns his eyes back to Adistan.
"If you think her soul could be damaged..." he lets the statement die, pondering things a bit.
"Still, the point is - you're willing to help, too. I appreciate that, and I won't be forgetting it," he adds, brightening a bit.
As he loiters in the hallway a moment for the others - though more likely to simply gather his strength - his hands fish around in his jacket and he pulls out a flask and holds it up, offering it to Adistan.
"Killing's thirsty work, you want a drink?" he asks the man cordially
As he waits for a response, he takes a sip of it himself, then holds the flask loosely in his hand - still offering it to Adistan and clearly curious to see what everyone will do next.

Horatio Flynn |

Don't forget, Amun said she'd have some Lesser restorations of her own last she and Adular talked, so he's probably assuming, wrongly perhaps, that she had some to use. Thats IIRC
No worries, Adular, it's all good. Once we get back to the ship, we should be cool. For now, Horatio is just being his somewhat cynical self, but make no mistake - he's very grateful for the fact that you, Rain and Variel helped him, and he won't forget it :)

Horatio Flynn |

"Meh name be Jamba. I jus happen upon ya. I be lookin' fah a ship doe Cappy." Jamba smiles at the Captain with gold and brown teeth.
Horatio turns his glance for Adistan and notices Jamba talking to Variel.
He still offers the flask to Adistan, but then he turns a glance to Rain.
"Well, Pilot-Major you want to come check out that chest?" he asks her.
