Through their mental link, Rain sends, //Neko, we may need your help. Be careful.// (Free action) With wings furled tightly against her back, Rain swiftly retracts the pike to normal length and moves forward 35 ft until she reaches the entrance of the hallway. Knowing the guards are probably lying in wait in the doorways, she decides to use acrobatics to try to move past those guards closest to her, hoping she can get nearer to Variel and not leave him alone with all the apothecary's guard around him.
Acrobatics to move through threatened squares (avoid AoOs) at half speed: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
If successful, she moves a further 15 ft down the hallway.
As an immediate action (expending 1 mythic use) Rain will attempt to hinder one melee attack against her. Sudden Block: increases Rain's AC by 1 and creature attacking her must make 2 attack rolls and take the lower result. Once resolved, Rain can make one melee attack against the creature.

Ok so I'm going to handwave the rest of this particular fight and say you all take them out without too much more effort. This will be a gimme due to the length of time ive been out.
You can each describe how you dispatch a guard in as cool a way as you want! After that, you catch your breath for a second but do not hear any more guards coming.
The guards possess, in total:
9 +1 Cutlass's
9 MW Mighty Composite Longbows (+3 str)
9 MW chain shirts
9 potions of cure moderate wounds
180 arrows

After having run through the gauntlet of readied and surprise attacks Variel finds that the rest of the combat is little more than a brief exercise in swordplay. The guards were not expert swordsmen and soon variel had his guard up against the wall with his cutlass at his throat. About to give quarter and ask for the man to surrender to find Dhaavan quicker the guard foolishly, or bravely tried to spin aside from the blade. Variel simply pressed forward and the let the man's own momentum slice his throat.
Not pausing long Variel grabbed one of the potions of cure mod and drank it ready to proceed onward to find his first mate.
cure mod wound 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (8, 8) + 3 = 19 Max out of course when I only needed 8. At least I am at full right now.

C3. Container Storage
The shelves of this small storeroom are stacked with flasks,
vials, ampoules, and bottles of various shapes and sizes.
Arranged systematically into groups, these containers,
fashioned from porcelain, metal, glazed pottery, and glass,
appear both clean and empty.
C4. Herbal Pharmacy
This crowded workroom holds a stone bench along the wall
opposite the door and cupboards on both ends. Weighing scales,
a mortar and pestle, and other pharmaceutical paraphernalia are
tidily arranged about the room.
C5. Waiting Room
This plain room holds a simple table and two wooden chairs. A
small oil lamp sits on the table.
C6. Herb Drying Room
Rows of wooden shelving line this chamber. The shelves
contain trays and containers of roots, cuttings, twigs, mosses,
and unprocessed herbs. The fragrance of dried aromatic flora
fills the room.
C8. Rear Hall
A set of stairs leads up to the second story in the northeast
corner. A balustraded gallery winds around the edge of the
upper hall, overlooking the area below.
C9. Private Meeting Room
Two padded reclining chairs and a well-upholstered divan are
set around a low table here. To one side, a cabinet holds crystal
glasses and wine bottles. The large mantled fireplace set with
a bronze fire screen in the corner and the wooden paneling on
the walls add to the room’s cozy atmosphere.
C10. Guard Dormitory
Eight simple beds crowd this room, which is untidy with used
plates, flagons, and clothing strewn around. A bricked-up
fireplace stands in the west wall, and the room smells strongly
of grog and sour sweat.
C11. Kitchen
A small rusty stove stands against the north wall of this dank
and otherwise unfurnished room. A blackened metal chimney
pipe runs diagonally up the wall from the stove into the ceiling. Behind the east door is a damp pantry, its moldy shelves bare.
Let me know where you all want to go. Also let me know who is going first and the marching order and such.

Rain, swiftly extending her pike to full length, finished the guard by the doorway/in the room to her left and watched as the other guards were quickly put down by her companions. Her wounds were not as many as Variel's or some of the others, so she did not take a healing potion. Through their mental link, she instructed Neko, //Come with me, let us proceed together and if there is much danger, leave//, and continued down the hallway, cautiously, with a now retracted pike in hand. Rain followed after Variel, ready in case their leader was set upon She kept her eyes open as she moved, ready for trap or threat or obstacle, feeling Neko behind her.

I'm presuming we can't still see the invisible Adular or the camouflaged Jiro, correct, so we have no idea where they are now inside the apothecary, althougb Adular did recently speak to Jamba?

Neko heeded her mistress' instruction and hopped down from the counter
Acro to jump down 10 ft: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (8) + 17 = 25 and moved toward her mistress, using her eyes to look for danger and nose to sniff any suspicious odours/scents.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
and using Scent to sniff out any hidden or nearby guards or threats, uncommon scents or even the missing/imprisoned Dhaavan.

Variel watches as the others dispatch their foes easily freeing them all up for further exploration. Peaking into each room only to see if Dhaavan is present he leaves them alone to be search fully later. With his defenses still up Variel takes the lead as he ended up in the room with the stairwell. It does not seem like any basement so we only have one path to follow. I do not like this as it seems they are trapped up there. Keep an eye out though for any means they could get behind us.

"If they are trapped aloft then why not burn them out?"
At this Amen-set stiffens and turns and gives Horatio a look; and he frowns and sighs.
"Alright - maybe we don't burn them out until after finding Dhaa... That is; Lord Dhaavan," he adds and gives Amen-set a glance and she seems to be a bit less annoyed by his cavalier attitude.
Realizing that the company is now ready to advance he cheerfully allows Seijiro to be behind him.
After all, if an enemy comes up behind them secretly to do some knife-work in the back then he can trust Seijiro to be the rearguard.
As he waits for the party to sort the rest of itself out he stoops and picks up the rest of the Healing Potions.
Meanwhile, he is puzzled that guards so heavily armed and armored have no personal effects; no lady's token in the form of a silk scarf or some trinket or locket?
And none of them even have a coin purse, either?
He shrugs and shakes his head.
Eh, I guess maybe they do their mercenary work pro bono...

Variel gives a rueful smile at Flynn, I don't think burning them out will help Dhaavan at this point. It would make me feel better though. Jiro, can you take a look up front here quick before I head up for any traps. Once you say the coast is clear I will move on up for Dhaavan.

Oddly, the man winces as he sees you stir, blue eyes following your initial movements on the table. His clothes -- a blue and green coat cut in naval fashion -- are fine, but clearly worn, with several threads sticking out despite obvious attempts to maintain them.
"Calmly, sir. I regret to inform you that you've been captured," he says, voice rough with recent disuse.

Not saying a word Variel points to the others to spread out and cover the 3 doors. He heads to the set of double doors himself and waits for the others to get in position. Once everyone is in a position that best suits them and are ready for further conflict Variel opens his door ready to continue the search for Dhaavan.

Let me know if this changes your plans at all.
Horatio would prefer it if the party moved to each door, scanned the room they see; and then designate as "clear" if there are no enemies or threats inside, then move to the next room until all threats are neutralized.
It may take a bit longer than simply rushing to the most direct threat (which may be above us, for example).
However, when it comes to taking care of potential threats in a building he feels that - short of taking off and nuking the place for orbit - it's the only way to be sure.
However, he does not have point.
For now he shall follow the lead of the point man and provide potential suppressing fire from a cover position should an enemy suddenly appear.
Regarding stairs, he prefers if the party ascends the staircase two at a time with a 10 foot gap between allies. This way, if an enemy above them uses a weapon with a spread effect then it won't hit all the party.
Once the first to people reach the top of the stairs, if they could move forward 10 feet and use Total Defense until the rest of the group is able to move up behind them and offer them potential cover, then that would be great.
Anyhow, that's his suggestion via movement.

Horatio says nothing but continues to wait.
As he waits he slowly and somewhat impatiently grinds his teeth and damns the fact that even though it is only few minutes it feels like veritable days before something as simple as dealing with an enemy in the middle of a literal firefight can unfold.
As the fingers on his hand tap the butt of his pistol his heart starts to yearn for the military expertise of a warrior he heard of by reputation alone.
A warrior named Leeroy Jenkins....
For now he will wait a bit longer yet, but has now resolved that if something does not happen very soon he shall follow that courageous - if somewhat foolish - example.

Neko relayed Variel's message to Rain and the pilot nodded her head. Neko returned telepathically to Variel, //Rain opening door and going inside.//
Seeing that none of the other companions were coming to aid her in a room with possibly three guards waiting inside, Rain steeled herself, took a 5ft step forward, reached for the handle and opened the door -pushed it inward, then moving inside the chamber using some acrobatic manoeuvres to waylay any readied attack/s. She will attack any enemy who comes at her.
I have no idea why Adular's token is right in front of the southern door (on 2nd floor) at present or whether he is invisible still ... as there hasn't been a post or any mention of him being there. Shrugs. Just confused as his token wasn't there before.
