Valrani and Morricone cannot land their swings at the nimble outsider who just sidesteps them:"You should earn the right, it's not so easy, young morsels... you are beings of deceit but soon I'll turn you into scions of absolute truth...".
Oren on the other hand strikes again with her fists:"Oh? Good one!" the kyton says in an approving tone...

Talon Bishop |

I'll take the AoO.
Talon, being rather ineffectual, opts to grab his fallen teammate and drag Val away from the fight while trying to avoid the crazy woman's attacks.
Once out of the melee, he raches into his pouch for an elixer of healing and props up Val's head and feeds it to her.
Cure Moderate Wounds: 2d8 + 1 ⇒ (2, 3) + 1 = 6 (Yeesh, what a terrible roll. Sorry Val.

Rocco Hardweather |

"Alright, Oren, time to back off! Let Morricone and the hag and I take care of this. Don't make Talon drag you out of here too!"
Rocco shifts into a flanking position with Lirotha as he urges Oren to get out of the fight for now, and lashes out with the last shreds of magical energy still remaining from his Chill Touch.
Chill Touch, Flank, IC: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 25 Negative Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 6
CL vs SR 16: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Woo! Glad that finally connected again. Now, DC 16 Fortitude save or she takes 1 Str damage.
Also, continuing Bonded Manifestation for +4 AC. 3/7 rounds remaining.

Rocco Hardweather |

Also also, Talon, don't forget that Cure Moderate is a 2nd level cleric spell, so the minimum caster level is 3, and the healing therefore does 2d8+3. Still not a superb roll, but it gets Val a little bit more not-dead. ‾\_(ツ)_/‾

Oren Mitabu |

Oren takes a withdrawal full round action, moving away from the monster, hoping to drink a potion next round and head back into the fight.

![]() |

Morricone and Lirotha combined strikes are enough to bring the kyton to her knees, while Rocco assault causes her to fall down completely. Even so the outsider doesn't seem defeated. Before your atonished eyes you notices how fresh cuts you just dealt start to knit themselves closed on the creature's pale flesh.
Fortitude save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
Combat over (for now). It's apparent the kyton has regeneration. Can you think of a way to kill her?

Oren Mitabu |

oren pulls out her cold iron weapon and gives the demon a whack to see if that will stop the regeneration. If not, she will pull out her silver weapon and do the same. If neither of those work, she suggests beating the demon half to death and then running with their targets.

Lirotha Karsani |

"Quickly Morri! Cut off her head with your sword! I'll burn what's left!"
Quickly, Lirotha jabs deeply at the downed woman again with her blade, searching for something important to cut.
As a full-round action, you can use a melee weapon to deliver a coup de grace (pronounced “coo day grahs”) to a helpless opponent. You can also use a bow or crossbow, provided you are adjacent to the target. You automatically hit and score a critical hit. If the defender survives the damage, he must make a Fortitude save (DC 10 + damage dealt) or die. A rogue also gets her extra sneak attack damage against a helpless opponent when delivering a coup de grace. Delivering a coup de grace provokes attacks of opportunity from threatening opponents. You can’t deliver a coup de grace against a creature that is immune to critical hits. You can deliver a coup de grace against a creature with total concealment, but doing this requires two consecutive full-round actions (one to “find” the creature once you’ve determined what square it’s in, and one to deliver the coup de grace).
Coup de Grace Damage(Magic): 3d4 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3, 2, 3) + 2 + 2 + 2 = 14
"Stay down!"

Rocco Hardweather |

Rocco leaves the death-dealing to the others while he helps Oren and Valrani heal.
Oren 2: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Valrani 1: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Valrani 2: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Just gonna do enough to get us out of here on our feet. Hopefully we can find a back way out. I feel like walking out the front door covered in blood probably won't be a good look.

_Valrani |

Valrani get groggily to her feet, her focus on the woman who had been tortured. As she does so she looks around, hoping for some hot irons or torches that the foul creature had used to conduct her own experiments in pain...
"I wonder if we can use her own implements against her..."

![]() |

I'm torn on this. I'm familiar with the argument that in PF coup de grace kills regenerating opponents because it's not hp damage and it works like suffocation in that reguard. That said the rule is not as clearly cut as one would like it to be, and many claim you still need to deactivate regeneration for coup de grace to work. So in this instance I'll rule as this...
DC24 Fort save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
As Lirotha blasts the kyton with her magically charged blade the outsider pale skin becomes translucent and then fully disappears with a scream of pure ecstasy!
"Aaaaah! This was fun my pretty little liars! Be assured we shall meet again and next time I will make sure to extract delicious truths out of your supple flesh shells!" Ghenemahl strident voice shrieks in your minds before vanishing as well. As this happens the still unconscious body of Hortense Lierre seems to relax a littlke despite the grevious wounds it suffered. You get her out of restraints but it's apaprent she'll need healing if you want her to be in a shape suitable to move on her own.
As this happens Morricone's checks the room but his magic cannot detect anything out of the ordinary.
Besides healing her and opening the other's cages you need to convince them of your identity... any ideas on how to make that easier?

Lirotha Karsani |

If it helps...Oren did say she used a silver dagger on her. Didi the woman leave anything behind? Or did all her stuff disappear with her?
Lirotha quickly heals the Lierre woman.
Healing Hex : 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
She then looks directly into the woman's eyes with as much intensity as she can.
"Come with us if you want to live: Your leader has asked us to retrieve you for him since he could not come himself. We are disguised, but I assure you we are not of the Asmodean temple. That being said, we still need to keep up the pretense of you being prisoners until we can get you out of sight of this building and past any wandering city watch. Will you and your men come willingly? We plan to try and get you out of town to your leader's hidden location as soon as possible. You know of the the shrine?"
Turning, she looks at Morricone and sketches a vaguely magic-like wave with her hand.
"Can you clean us up magically? We need to get out of here fast, before that scream she made summons all the guards. Our story is: She attacked US when we came in to talk to her about her prisoner. Got it guys?"

_Valrani |

"My wounds at the very least will need explaining.." sighs Valrani.
"And that is as good a story as I can think of. Let us get out of this horrid place. And just hope they are too scared of the creep to come and check on her."

Oren Mitabu |

[b[“Maybe we could spin our wounds into a story to intimidate the other guards. Her faith was wanting or some such thing,”[/b] Oren suggests.

Rocco Hardweather |

Am I misremembering or did we learn about some sort of hidden entrance to the Holding House? Maybe that was something we were trying to learn about but failed to get any details on.
"Yeah, you guys are a mess," Rocco exclaims as he wipes silvery, phantasmal slime off of his face and clothes. "You should really be more careful!" A sly grin crosses Rocco's face as he revels in the fact that they survived and brought down a pretty nasty beasty in Ghenemal.

![]() |

Some minutes after you heal her most evident wounds the woman, Hortense Lierre, awaken mumbling at first something like:"Make it stop, pleaseee! I don't know anything you want to knoooowwwwayeeee!!!" she then realizes her tormentor has disappeared:"Why? How? Where! Get me out of here? Who are you? Where's the kyton? What sort of trick is this? I don't know anything about Master Sabinus' whereabouts I told you!"
As you get out of the torture chamber and into the cell block you notice how the rest of the armigers have now left their cells and look upon you. They know you somehow dealt with their tormentor yet you aren't sure they trust you yet...
You'll need some sort of social skill check or to remember a few previous details in order to assuage their fears I think

Rocco Hardweather |

Rocco firmly, but gently grasps Hortense's hands and pulls them down to bring her attention down to his own face. As he speaks soothingly to her, he flips up his monstrous mask, showing the boyish halfling face underneath without the rest of his monstrous appearance ruining the effect. "Hortense, listen to me. Commander Sabinus is safely ensconced at a shrine outside of town. I don't want to say the name at this very second because, well, I don't want to talk too much in here. Regardless of that, we're here to take you and the rest of your men to him. Now, can you come with us please?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

_Valrani |

Valrani nods "We don't have long. If we were enemies we'd have left you to that horrible woman. Please come, your men won't come without you, and we really want to rescue you all."
diplomacy(aid): 1d20 ⇒ 5

Lirotha Karsani |

Hissing, Lirotha moves toward the exit slowly.
"We are the Silver Ravens! We helped your compatriot escape the Doghousing! We must leave NOW however, if you truly wish to escape! Otherwise you can stay here for when that...thing comes back!"
Diplomacy(Aid): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2

![]() |

Your words don't seem to convince the armigers at all. It's pretty clear they can't believe rescue was coming and suspect treachery.
Really people... isn't there something you received you can use to convince them?

Oren Mitabu |

Its not our silver raven statue is it? I’ve looked back through Page 69 and I’m afraid I’m overlooking something!?

Lirotha Karsani |

1. Morricone can convince them we are who we say we are. (Mr. Charisma)
2. Our magical Silver Ravens can convince them, however Lirotha would have avoided taking hers on this trip so we weren't identified too easily.
3. We were given something else, or were supposed to be given something to help convince these guys to follow us...Such as when The Lictor said "Study the holding house and work out a plan but let me know when you intend to take action. I will have something to make your task easier by then." Which of course we FORGOT to do I think.

Morricone |

Morricone looks at the prisoners and smiles.
"Folks the solution is simple. We have killed one of your torturers.
And we are preparing to lead you to your commander, who ordered us to bring you to him. If you do not comply, you show disobidiance to your commander. Also it is the first duty of a prisoner to escape. Now, please let us rescue you!"
Diplo: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (6) + 20 = 26

![]() |

Lirotha is right: I was sure the Lictor gave you a certain thing but you never got it. You would have if you gave him the report he asked for. No problem though, Morricone has an high enough oratory skill mod to autosuceed this (DC20)
The former armigers look at you with deepeing suspicion when Morricone suceeds where none of you could, whiing them over with his oratory skills and they nod:"Sorry. This just seemed too good to be true. A rescue right out of a fairy tale! But I'm living proof you killed the kyton. I doubt you would have done that if this were a rouse" vommernts Hortense Lierre and that's enough to convince her companions to trust you as well.
This allows you to finally be able to leave the cells. Seeing you return with the prisoners, including Lierre, the guards respectfully salute you but don't try to hinder you. All goes well until you are nearly out of the Holding House. Unfortunately Sabo is waiting for you right at the exit, apparently pleased to see you return alive from your encounter with Ghenemahl:"So? How did it go? We heard some rather disturbing noises coming from the torture chamber... I trust you worked out your differences with our guest in the end. I understand her kind can be quite stubborn once they have their mind fixed on something... or someone. Since you are all here, bloodied but alive I must assume you somehow convinced Lady Ghenemahl to give you the prisoner? Or perhaps you were forced to deal with her in a different more permanent way?" Sabo asks her sweet tone actually deepening as she goes on.

Lirotha Karsani |

Lirotha puts a scowl on her face and spits on the ground.
"That ambassador assaulted us! All we did was attempt to speak to her and negotiate for the prisoner! She just laughed and said 'Play time!' Then she attacked us! Its obvious she wasn't human...or sane. The inquisitor was up to the challenge however. All praise Asmodeous for his teachings! After her defeat we took the prisoner, as is our right. Please inform the Nidalese to send a more...amenable ambassador the next time."
Bluff(Unskilled): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17

Morricone |

Morricone looks at Sabo and a smirk is seen on his face.
"Those followers of a false god think they can disobey a true disciple of the true master. We took the liberty to convince her differently. Do you need a lesson, too?"
Bluff: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
With that Morricone walks straight past her, leading his entourage out of the building.

![]() |

Sense Motive check: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29
Sabo's smile deepens as Lirotha and Morricone explain themselves:"Oh? No need to sweeten the truth my dear. Such creatures are stubborn and narrow minded. You had your orders. She didn't want to release the prisoner. You asked again. She attacked you and you were forced to defend yourselves. And of course, we agree Lady Ghenemahl overstepped her bounds. You did what you had to. I'm sure Grievener will understand..." Sabo claims before turning towards "Morris":"Ah! I'd like you to try boy! But I like your spirit. I'm sure we'll meet again and next time I'll make sure to get you in a more confortable position before we start talking".
She then moves aside and let's you out of the Holding House:"Well it's a pity but I understand you've got to be somewhere else, and I won't dare impede the "mighty" Inquisitor Morris for the life of me, after all! You are free to go. And... Morris... we'll see each other very soon... I hope you won't disappoint me when we do!"
You have done it. Let's just say you are able to deceive dottari patrols thanks to your disguise. Where do you want to bring the prisoners? And what's your next move?

Lirotha Karsani |

We will hide them until the gates open, maybe in the Lictor's sister's Inn? Then disguise them and get them out of town to the shrine ASAP.
