Sirusk |

While the group tries to pick up the trail of bloody footprints, Sirusk walks over to the statue and searches around it thoroughly.
If we have time, Sirusk will take 20 to check the statue for a total of 27. If we don't have time, here is a perception check.
Percep if we don't take 20: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Nimaethep |

"Remarkable" Nimaethep says. "Everything here is in such good condition. It is a shame that this place was lost, Nethys is such a powerful symbol of the potential of the Osirion people, for both good and ill."
kn(religion): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Although she follows Anubis, Nimeathep also has a deep reverence for Nethys due to his accomplishments and is versed in his worship even though she knows that her lack of magical training marks her as lesser in the god's eye. She gives a short prayer of respect before moving on.

DM-Camris |

Inferis, having found no magic traces in the Chamber of Waiting, came into the Antechamber and began Detect Magic here as well.
Sirusk approached the statue and started to examine it.
Nimathep entered the chamber and admired the artistry.
This is a fine example of a “Graven Guardian” construct, wound about with sacred glyphs that cause it to animate to deal with intruders.
Akil-Khalid and Cerastes followed along.
You almost jump out of your skins as the gate slams shut and locks behind you with a CLANG!

Nimaethep |

Nimaethep jumps with a start as the gates slam shut "We need to be careful here. This statue is from a fascinating and turbulent period of history during which the worship of the ancient deity Thoth-Heka was brought into the modern times and renamed Nethys as we know him today.
It bears the markings distinctive of a guardian, the fact that it has not moved to defend this place could mean that it just a mundane statue depicting a guardian, or more likely given Inferis' divination we have yet to do something that would compel it to action."
Nimaethep keeps a wary eye on the statue hoping that her brief prayer to Nethys is enough to appease the guardian.

Asa Basmerit |

Asa slowly traces the blood until she is startled by the gate klanging shut behind them. "Our quarry came through the doors over here. May the almighty Thoth grant us safe passage."

DM-Camris |

Asa Basmerit |

Asa turns to the suddenly active statue. "Not to say 'I told you so', but this guardian may be reacting to our enchanted equipment." She gracefully reaches into her bandolier and pulls out a flask and a small vial. Her practiced fingers quickly pour the contents of the vial into the flask one handed. A thick acrid smoke begins to slowly pour out of the mouth of the flask as she lobs it at the ancient representation of the God of magic.
Bomb attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Bomb critical confirmation: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 vs. Touch AC
Bomb damage vs. Constructs/Undead: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (1, 6) + 4 = 11 Acid damage
Bomb critical damage vs. Constructs/Undead: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 Acid damage
Bomb damage vs. Other: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (1, 1) + 4 = 6 Acid damage
Bomb critical damage vs. Other: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 Acid damage
6 points of acid damage to any enemies within 5 feet of the bomb's impact.
Using Precise Bombs to exclude any allies in the splash zone. (Up to 4)

Nimaethep |

Seeing the statue attack Sirusk, Nimaethep moves to try and attract the statue's attention. With practiced ease she uses her own movement and momentum to dodge the statues swings as she slips into the statues reach. Once she gets into position she stands her ground and adopts the flowing Ibis style in which she has long trained and attempts to anticipate its attack, ducking and dodging. At one point placing her hand on the staff and gently redirecting it away from herself and using the statue's momentum against it as she struck back.
Move: Move next to statue at I:11 (Mobility: AC 23 vs AoO). Swift: Adopt Ibis (aka crane) style. Standard: Attack defensively (Style: -2 attack for AC 23)
Attack defensively: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 5 - 2 = 16
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
"While its attention is on me, flank it" she called out while at the same time thinking "Its such a shame that we will have to damage a wonderful artifact such as this."

Seeing the graceful catfolk engage the animated statue, well, this spear isn't going to do much good against solid stone..., Cerastus lets both his shield and spear clang to the floor as he hurtles forward in a charge. The weighty head of the adamantine heavy flail falls on an uncoiling chain as he snatches it's handle from his belt and uses his forward momentum to add to the strength of the blow...
Adamantine Flail Smash: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Sirusk |

Sirusk comes out of the mental haze from being throttled by the statue (at 17/24 hp) unexpectedly in time to see the majestic flowing movements of Nimaethep. Wow ... .. wake up fool and attack before it kills us all...
Sirusk snaps too and studies the statue (MA, +1 att/dmg & some skills). A hunk of rock ... my weapons likely pointless ... maybe I can hit the spot Cerastes just hit at least
Sirusk takes a 5ft step to his right (F7), drops the sunrod, and draws his bow and blunt-tip arrows. (MA).
