Well...yeah it's awesome from reading it from a story perspective but that's also a full player character with a plan to play in the full story. So, unless this is a nightmare sequence, how does that work? I'm not thinking we can cross this line where it concerns the true characters of Borodin and Elsir.

DM Barcas |

Okay, the Darkest Timeline is going to get pretty gonzo.
Basically, Elsir/Borodin/Willas have to survive for 5 rounds while the runes power up for teleportation. (Why not immediately, Deus Ex Machina? Dramatic tension.) Nikolai (and his minions, who I have told him about) have to try to prevent this. Thus, Jemini/Verik/Taisper have to keep him away from them. (I've informed Steve that he has to defeat all three before he can move in on the time travelers. But that's what minions are for, right?)
If anyone hasn't made a Darkest Timeline stat block for their character, now's the time. We can have a bit of pre-combat conversation while folks finalize their profiles.
For Initiative, once it starts, Nikolai will count as an NPC - so Elsir/Borodin/Verik/Taisper/Jemini can all act in any order they choose as long as they don't skip over Nikolai or his minions.

Verik of Abadar |

Just a point of clarification as I finish out the 18th lvl Verik stats. Based on the last post, I'm assuming Verik gets back the armor and weapons he was associated with prior to his demise. That doesn't include other magic items for him, just armor/shield and a few weapons correct? Obviously that can dramatically adjust his stats for this fight, so I just want to be clear on it.
I'm assuming Jemini and Taisper may have far more leeway on this, which is perfectly fine by me given the way Verik was dealt with in the DT story.

Verik the Mute-Darkest Timeline |

My vote is for the full tally.
Hehe well I concede that the Queen of Newhaven may have more goodies in this fight than I do, so just want to see mainly what the Cog's sacrifice returns to Verik specifically, since he had nothing to start with.
Yeah I saw that you went all-out on WBL calculations on magic items - late last night as I was doing something similar with WBL until I re-read the text and went "oops" and recalculated all of my stuff down.
EDIT: Oh and NICE 20 on the Kolga Bluff by the way! I have a feeling we lost Ghanghash so we really need this one with Kolga with the rest of us going all in on Aid Another w/ Bluff. Then I need to tell you in-game what we need to do with Magrat and Cangarit...it's a bit different than I think we thought initially.

Verik of Abadar |

The hard part is figuring out what to do with a Bluff check. Jemini, as a paladin, won't go around spreading lies after all. But I figured using bluff to convey deeper meaning is an appropriate way to go about it.
Right. Yeah I would like to think it's not that you're fooling them with a successful check, but instead showing that you understand politics and the 'game' between houses, states...and in this case tribes.

Akiros Ismort |

It is, however, the longsword hung at his shield-side that gives him pause, something he knows well but did not craft himself. Verik draws the blade swiftly, looking at its mirror-sheen polish and razor edge, the topazes adorning its guard and pommel still intact. Magical to be sure, but still dormant since the death of Akiros Ismort, the blade once shining with the force of the sun and able to vanquish even the darkest foes that dared to challenge the paragon of Iomedae. "Aurora Aeternus Eternus...I remember you! Can it be your master, my old friend Akiros, watches over us this day of days?" Verik raises the blade up above him and salutes his long departed friend, and then returns it to his scabbard in a smooth fashion, his face hardening as he turns to look at where Nikolai and Jemini are in the Hall.
o_O?? Um...YES PLEASE!
(Except it's likely a Broadsword ; )

Jemini of Lebeda |

"Verik. Brother. I can see the Vault from where I stand astride the planes. Here and yet everywhere at once. It is beyond everything we ever hoped. For the Master's glory, we fight. With love, and with honor, we fight." Taisper is speaking somehow in both Celestial and Common at the same time.
Somehow I imagine that the Cog is speaking in a different font: something like old Germanic

It was a broadsword - the longsword was fashioned from what remained of it after that happened cue dun-dun-dunnnnnn music

Verik of Abadar |

Heh well my original idea is that it was a true Sun Blade originally, so therefore a super light bastard sword, but since Verik doesn't have exotic prof. in that I went with long sword for that whole Iomedae sacred weapon thing. But that's not nearly as 'dun-dun-dunnnnnnn' cool as Lore's ominous shards-of-Narsil reforge idea, so we can go with that ;)

No! I mean, ok ya! Bring it on! You...something..thingy...that's gonna, like, maybe happen! Let's do this!

So in Darkest Timeline Round 1 we have Elsir and Jemini to post before seeing what the bad guys do...
In current timeline we need an assist by Nikolai to finish up Round 3 with Kolga...
...and then Zander is reacting to Taisper as they both go to check out what crazy business is happening in the Keep.
Sounds about right?

Jemini of Lebeda |

Here's hoping that the Aura of Justice can make the difference for some. For the level 6 PCs the AC bonuses aren't enough to hold back an attack by Nikolai - but for Verik and the Cog it can shift the numbers enough to ensure Nikolai doesn't automatically hit on every attack.
I'm fairly certain that Darkest Jemini can significantly rattle Nikolai's mind - which should at the very least ensure he doesn't go after the tree travelers.

Akiros Ismort |

Just glancing at Dark Nikolai's stats, some of them seem way off. Like, how could a 21st lvl PC only have +13/+8 to hit? And wouldn't his weapon be much better than +1? And he should have way better AC than 16, no?
Maybe he's just not finished yet?
I just, you know, wanna see a fair fight. Heh heh heh
(plus, how awesome to have a PVP battle in an alternate timeline with epic PCs where it doesn't matter if ya off each other or not! He says with great envy...Hmmm, maybe Nikolai's god let's him resurrect an old Ally?? Hint hint ...but nah, sigh, cuz I think Akiros would have to be dominated or something to allow him to fight on the side of the bad guys : \ )

Verik the Mute-Darkest Timeline |

Holy Aura of Justice DT Jemini! That's pretty spiffy there!
I do have a question about placement and where we're all at with respect to two probable separations of combat. Part of this is to put out there that Verik (despite an INT 10) is not stupid enough to stand adjacent to Nikolai on Round 1 for any sort of full-attack action. The other part is to understand if Verik casts any buff/boon spells, does he just affect Jemini and The Cog or does it potentially spill onto Elsir/Borodin/Willas and their combat area.

Actually you're misunderstanding his stat presentation. He's not put down totals, but all the parts that need to be added together. He's got 21 BAB, then all the other stuff gets added/subtracted from that.
That said... there is no such thing as 21 BAB to my knowledge. It is capped at 20. So that would be -1 all round to help us survive a little bit more.

Akiros Ismort |

Ah, yes, of course. I'm just used to the other way of adding it all up before hand. Thanks for the clarification Jem.
He still seems to only have a +1 sword though and only 16AC with that +1 shirt. Glass cannon maybe? ;)
Cause as it is now, seems like he almost auto hits everyone, but gets auto hit himself as well.

![]() |

It doesn't cap at 20 in Pathfinder. That's the 3rd ed Epic book. Rules for PFRPG epic are that BAB go up same progression as the class, albeit with a cap on four iterative attacks.
There probably are some mistakes that didn't get transferred onto the character sheet. I have just been drowning in assignments, day job, and family stuff. Trying to get caught up. And I promise not to cheat when I kill Taisper and Verik.

Jemini of Lebeda |

I dunno. +12 to hit and AC is super-massive swing. I am going to have to account for that later in the campaign.
I agree, of course +12 relies on the high resources available at level 18; but even at level 12 (the earliest when Jemini can have it) the bonus would probably be around +7 or +8. Against single AP opponents or bosses with negligible minions that is a big deal.

![]() |

Actually, I spotted Dan his first round a$$beating in order to activate magic item and not full attack him on round one. I realize I just gave him +12 to everything, but I just don't see prone Taisper making it through five attacks from Nikolai. No fun.
And I can take a pretty good beating. I have some built in healing.
I see the ruling is that only Taisper is adjacent at the start of my turn, so the 1d8 damage onlt applies to him. And Verik still gets the bite.

The Cog - Darkest Timeline |

*shrug* Let it loose, hoss. Don't hold back on my account. Tough luck for me for being so close when you decided to unload. Also, if I go down right away, saves me from having to actually stat up a 13/5 PC for two rounds of combat.

DM Barcas |

Jemini gets a boon for back-to-back 20s!
Booming Boast: Once per day when using Dazzling Display, Jemini can affect any monstrous humanoid within an additional radius of ten feet per character level.
If the wording is unclear, she can basically use Dazzling Display with a much wider radius, but only with Monstrous Humanoids.
