Mavor doesn't cast spells on himself, instead he waits for others to cast spells on him, ready to wade into combat once more for the group.

"Whenever you're ready guys. I'll introduce Glorio to this axe if everything goes according to plan. I'll take the lead, just follow me closely."

You exit the underground complex and enter the large room that's been turned into a yard. The elephant statue that stood atop the hidden entrance to the underground complex lies broken on its base. The fountain does no longer function, and there's no sign of the water elemental.

"Glorio was angry," Melyia mutters under her breath.

Lightning Bolt: 10d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 3, 3, 2, 1, 6, 6, 6, 2) = 35

A bolt of lightning crashes down from the yard's ceiling, but dissipates directly above Melyia's head. The lightning bolt's accompanied by the appearance of Glorio, who hovers 15 feet above the crumbled elephant. "I see you've decided to betray me, sister!"

Melyia shoots him a venomous look. "You tried to kill me, you piece of filth! You get what you deserve!"

Glorio opens his mouth and lets out an inhuman roar. "Silence, Vimanda! You've crossed the line this time! I'll have no more of it! I won't have you take over this family!"

He turns his eyes to you. "Had you not angered me, I would've let you leave with those you came for! Sadly for you, you've wasted your chance with me!"

Glorio's appearance shifts, his head becoming that of a tiger and his hands becoming claws. Melyia grits her teeth, after which her appearance also shifts. Her skin turns orange-red, and her head becomes that of a fox. There's something peculiar about Glorio/Bahor his claws and Melyia/Vimanda her hands: their fingers bend the other way. Those of you with some knowledge of rakshasas recall this to be the way all rakshasas' hands are.

I wanted to get this post out, because I feel like we've been sitting idle for too long. If you can now see invisible creatures due to a spell you were retroactively able to prepare (see discussion), you get a surprise round (a single standard OR move action) in addition to your turn in round 1.

Gotta love Glitterdust

So...I don't see Glorio or his sister on the map, I assume he is still 15 feet above the crumpled elephant statue?

Mavor switches his grip on his greataxe to one hand, then moves up onto the statue and draws his whip along the way. I have 15-foot reach with the whip though, so any point I'm close enough.

Sorry, was out of commission and just catching up. Quorthos did have see invisibility up due to his new spell slot, so he'll take the surprise action.

Surprise round
--------------
Quorthos shouts a warning as he sees the invisible Glorio, and quickly calls upon the void to summon a beast. 4 points from arcane pool to use summon monster IV occultist ability, Summon Good Monster feat ==> foo lion

Round 1
-------
Quorthos casts fly on the foo lion, letting it charge the rakshasha in mid-air. He then sprints towards the other side of the fountain.

Foo lion, charge, bite: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 8 + 2 = 18damage, counts as good: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9grab: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24

Foo lion, claw #2, pounce: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 8 + 2 = 30damage, counts as good: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

@Denario: Okay, thanks!

@Mavor: My bad! I added them to the map. And yes, that's exactly where he is. I moved you on the map so he's in your whip's range, but no: masterwork quality doesn't up your CMB.

Quorthos shouts a warning just before Glorio attack, but Melyia's too late to react. Not that it matters much, as Glorio's attack on her fizzles. Quorthos then summons a powerful foo lion from the void.

Ref: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (15) + 20 = 35

Imoya's fireball would've killed most men, but Glorio kicks the sphere away just before it explodes and rapidly flies back to exit the fireball's range. He's entirely unscathed.

Will: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

Denario's glitterdust doesn't manage to blind Glorio, but it does make the rakshasa all glittery and pissed off.

Mavor moves a bit closer while taking out his whip. He attempts to grapple Glorio with the whip, but Glorio casually lifts his foot and Mavor's whip misses.

Does the crit confirm?
Foo lion, claw #2, pounce: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 8 + 2 = 29 Damage, counts as good: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
No... :(

Quorthos casts fly on the foo lion, which charges at Glorio and attacks. Glorio easily dodges the foo lion's first and second attacks, but doesn't see the beast's third attack coming. The foo lion's claw draws blood as it tears into Glorio's shoulder.

Round 1:

Tural uses evil eye on Glorio, giving him -4 to AC for 9 rounds. A successful DC 19 Will save reduces this to 1 round. Tural will chant every round after this, to extend the 1 round AC penalty.

Male Hellspawn Avenger 10 (HP 73/73 | AC:21 | T:14 | FF:18 | CMB: +7 | CMD:21 | Fort:+6| Ref:+9 | Will:+7 | Init:+3| Perc: +13 | Speed: 40 ft.)

Also: the foo lion will use its stony defence the first time it is hit (as an immediate action, it gains hardness 8 but slows to move 10').

Will: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

Tural uses his evil eye to drop Glorio's defenses, and starts a chant that prolongs the effect.

AoO Foo lion, bite: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20 Damage, counts as good: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 grab: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23

Glorio flies slightly north and lowers himself to the ground, ignoring the foo lion as it tries to bite him. He points one of his fingers at Mavor, releasing a powerful stroke of electrical energy. "You pests! Learn your place!"

Ref, Denario: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Ref, Tural: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

The electricity runs in a line, and while Mavor's able to dodge the attack, Denario takes the full hit and Tural's only able to partially dodge it.

It is now Melyia who takes to the air as she draws a javelin. She throws the weapon, and as it pierces the air between her and Glorio it transforms into a lightning bolt.

Lightning Bolt: 5d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 6, 6, 5) = 28

It's not easy to indicate my movement on the map as the Foo lion blocks my way. If I can fly to the other side of Glorio to flank with the Foo Lion I will. If so add +2 attack and Sneak Attack Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 1, 1) = 9 to the results.

Oh, btw, if Mavor rolls low on a save, say below 15 on a Will save. I'll use the Fortune that Tural is keeping up on me.

Fort: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27

Glorio, now standing on the ground, doesn't have any cover from the foo lion that's still up in the air. Denario's snowball hits him square in the chest. The snowball doesn't stagger Glorio, but it clearly hurts him.

@Quorthos: Not that it does much, but I figure I should mention your foo lion gets a +1 bonus to attack rolls for being on higher 'ground' now Glorio's standing on the ground.

Quorthos casts fly on Mavor, while the foo lion bites and claws at Glorio without success.

Will: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23

Glorio seems less affected by Tural's evil eye than before, but Tural still lowers the rakshasa's defenses further with the hex.

Imoya adjusts his position and fires two scorching rays at Glorio, but both of them fizzle out of existence as they come within a foot of him.

Mavor flies half a circle and ends up flanking Glorio with the foo lion, which gives him just the opportunity he needs to hit Glorio with a powerful blow. The attack's however less effective than Mavor would've imagined, even counting Glorio's resistance to slashing weapons. (The damage from sneak attack was denied.)

@Mavor: You just barely hit Glorio. Keep an eye on that +1 bonus higher ground could give you as well! ;)

AoO Foo lion, bite: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25 Damage, counts as good: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 grab: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31

Glorio 5-foot flies up and away from Mavor, ending up 5 feet off the ground and north of the foo lion. His stretches his empty hand in Mavor's direction, and a coruscating ray springs from his fingertips. Glorio doesn't seem to care he draws an attack from the foo lion, which misses him.

Ray of Enfeeblement: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (3) + 23 = 26
Will, Mavor: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Fortune: Will, Mavor: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

The ray hits Mavor, the fortune hex Tural casts on him protects the strong half-orc.

Melyia flies up further as she draws another javelin, which she also throws at Glorio. The moment it leaves her hand, it turns into a lightning bolt.

Lightning Bolt: 5d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 1, 3, 1) = 12

@Mavor: Your strength wasn't sapped. The second roll from Tural's fortune hex saved you.

Mavor flies up and over Glorio, and swings his greataxe again. Despite the height advantage Mavor has and Glorio's flanked position, Mavor's unable to land a hit on the rakshasa.

Denario sends five magic missiles at Glorio, but all of the missiles dissipate before they reach him. Same goes for the magic missiles Imoya lets loose.

Will save DC 19 to negate

Spell effects:

Evil Eye (Su): The shaman causes doubt to creep into the mind of a foe within 30 feet that she can see. The target takes a –2 penalty on one of the following (shaman's choice): ability checks, AC, attack rolls, saving throws, or skill checks. This hex lasts a number of rounds equal to 3 + the shaman's Wisdom modifier. A successful Will saving throw reduces this to just 1 round. At 8th level, the penalty increases to –4.

Misfortune (Su): The shaman causes a creature within 30 feet to suffer grave misfortune for 1 round. Anytime the creature makes an ability check, attack roll, saving throw, or skill check, it must roll twice and take the worse result. A successful Will saving throw negates this hex. At 8th level and 16th level, the duration of this hex is extended by 1 round. This hex affects all rolls the target must make while it lasts. Whether or not the save is successful, the creature cannot be the target of this hex again for 24 hours.

Next round, if I don't need healing, I'll start casting fortune hexes on everyone that wants one.

@Imoya: Only spells and spell-like abilities are subject to spell resistance. Extraordinary and supernatural abilities (including enhancement bonuses on magic weapons) are not.

@Mavor: Huh... Oops...

Reflex: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (20) + 20 = 40

Imoya dashes ahead of the foo lion and takes a deep breath. When he exhales, a cone of fire escapes his mouth. Glorio's already moved out of the way before Imoya exhales.

Denario sends an orb of acid at Glorio, who dodges it with ease.

Mavor flies after Glorio and moves to a higher position in the air. He tries to feint an attack, but Glorio sees through it. When Mavor's actually about to attack, Glorio punches the axe's handle and knocks the weapon aside.

Quorthos sends a blast of electricity at Glorio, who floats slightly to the left to avoid being hit. Florio doesn't even bother to avoid the foo lion's attacks, which all bounce off of him.

Will: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20

Tural casts misfortune on Glorio, but nothing happens. He keeps his chant up to prolong the other effects on Glorio.

It is when Glorio flies away from Mavor and the foo lion that Mavor's able to hit him with his axe, though it doesn't deal a whole lot of damage to the rakshasa.

Glorio moves directly above Tural, staying 10 feet up, and directs the open palm of his free hand downward. "Your spells annoy me, tree..."

Glorio looks frustrates when his spell doesn't damage Tural at all. His frustration grows when Tural then heals himself of almost all of his wounds, while Tural also keeps up his chanting.

Denario's acid splash hits Glorio in his back. As Glorio turns around to look at Denario, he sees Mavor flying toward him and dodges the incoming greataxe.

The foo lion continues to flail in the air. Imoya doesn't have much success either, his spell once again fizzling out of existence before reaching Glorio.

Glorio does however seem to rely a bit too much on his spell reistance and doesn't bother dodging Quorthos's electrical lance, which proves to be a mistake when the lance hits and shocks him.

Her first attack hits Glorio and, even though the slashing damage from the weapon itself is resisted, hurts him with magic and an electric shock. Melyia's second attack is barely dodged by Glorio, who's able to dodge her third slash with relative ease.

@Mavor: You can't use fortune again unless Tural first uses hex vulnerability on you. It doesn't matter that Tural continues to chant and prolong the hex's duration; the hex explicitly states you can't benefit from it again for 24 hours.

Retcon, based on this FAQ post.

Denario's spell is resisted, and Glorio sees right through Mavor's feint. Or at least Glorio thinks he does, while Mavor's actually setting up his next attack. The rakshasa is then hit by Quorthos's electrical lance, and the foo lion finally manages to bite Glorio. While Glorio pulls away from the foo lion, to prevent ending up grappled, the summoned creature hits him with a claw. The claw, however, doesn't hurt Glorio at all. Glorio deflects the foo lion's second claw by knocking it aside with his arm.
