Well, some of us have been posting regularly, and to drop the game as a result of the others not participating would not be looked on favorably by those of us who have been. Having said that, this is ultimately your call. Just be open and let us know. I am not a fan of GMs who simply disappear.

Well, some of us have been posting regularly, and to drop the game as a result of the others not participating would not be looked on favorably by those of us who have been. Having said that, this is ultimately your call. Just be open and let us know. I am not a fan of GMs who simply disappear.
Hack, please know that I won't just "disappear" from the game no matter what happens. Even if the game ends, I would certainly tell you guys up-front rather than stop posting, but hopefully the game won't be ending for a long time, though.
I guess at this time I'm trying to find out who's interested in continuing regular posting and continuing the game and who's not really interested anymore because so far it's feeling like things have been dropping off.
If some people want to keep going and if some people are no longer interested in playing, I'd like to know that, too. That way I can try to at least stream-line the game to coincide with the players who want to move on and if others aren't very interested, that's okay, too.
I should add that I'm looking for players who are at least posting once a day, preferably twice a day, but I understand if that can't always happen.
Meanwhile, I understand things come up for players in real life, and that's totally reasonable. But if people can't post, or have other things going on, if they could at least let the others know what's up that would be really helpful.
In other words, for the people who still want to play, I guess what I'm looking for is pretty much what Taissa has done above: she's not going to be able to post much this weekend so she went on the Discussion Thread and let everyone know what's going on.
Now if you guys suddenly got into combat right now we'd at least know to NPC her for the next day or so (for example) rather than hold up the entire combat all weekend waiting for a response. Also, if we didn't see something from her in the next few days we'd know she still wants to continue, but she is simply busy with personal matters.
I guess that's pretty much all I'm looking for at this point.
So if people want to continue, I'm hoping they can post at least once a day during the week, and try to post during weekends if they can.
But if players can't do that for personal reasons I'm hoping that they just let me know what's up via the Discussion Thread.
Also, if the "scene" is not something your character would be participating for one reason or the other; let me know that, too via the Discussion Thread or OOC.
So, for example, Hack - you've written before - "Hack really wouldn't do much here but watch all the talking" - now I know you're still around even though your character personally isn't really doing much at the time, so I know not to wait for you to put something on the board and I can move things forward regardless.
Please let me know what you guys think of all that.
Thanks.

Melthune "Sans helmet" |

Melthune's acted/reacted as best I can put posts in for.
The symbol on the hilt of the weapon seemed to have been highlighted for a reason and Mel's passed that information on as quietly and quickly as she could.
As for where the game is going? Well... getting back to (Or getting there for the first time for Mel) will be good/interesting.
Much cheers to all.

Taissa Sloane |

I'm still interested in continuing/playing.
I can post once a day (at least) during the week but with the time difference and work, most of my posting might not appear on the board until my late afternoon/evening.
As to the weekends, RL responsibilities take up a lot of my spare time, especially over weekends. If I'm not around, I will let you know. But generally if I'm home (with no prior engagements or commitments), I can post on weekends.

I'm new to the game, so I don't really feel I can comment either IC-ly or OOC-ly on things like whether you guys should continue. I've already stated OOCly that due to the circumstances of Jenner's joining the group, he is not likely to try and push the group to one course of action or another, but instead to go along with their consensus.
Perhaps OOC-ly discussing what that consensus might be-- whether the rest of the PCs want to go back to Varisia or stay in Osirion and try and do something about the disease-- might give us a framework for what direction to take ourseves, IC-ly?
Dain, I recognize that as a GM you're trying to give the PCs a wide-open 'your choice' thing rather than railroad them towards a particular goal, but at the moment I almost feel like I'm getting a bit of whiplash-- it initially seemed like we were getting ready to go back to Magnimar, etc, until the concerns were raised about whether or not we're just abandoning Amun-Ta, so now we have this extended scenario with our host in which we learn all sorts of important things about the disease, which makes it seem like no, the plot is actually here instead, etc., etc.
Again, I think I understand you're trying to let the players choose where in the sandbox they want the plot to go, but I think there's also such a thing as a paralysis of options, sometimes. Maybe we can do some OOC discussion of what each person would like to get out of the adventure? I'm sorry if I'm stepping on any toes here, just trying to offer helpful suggestions, but I'm aware that I'm new to your game.

Shenkt "Hack" Corchran |

Not at all, Holystone. I have always been of the opinion that we should have stayed back in Beacon to handle the problems in our part of the world. I said as much in the gameplay thread, and I have no desire to stay here in the south to provide any further assistance.

Polux |

Polux goes where adventure and gold carry him ;)

Stefan Lebeda |

Don't drop just because of me. I have been having issues at home the last few days. In addition, it seems my post from Wednesday never showed. was getting ready to send you a PM.

Polux |

Ok, so 3000 gold more is really cool :D
Dain GM, part of Polux's plan is to have his Mithral Chain Shirt upgraded to +1 (1000 gold), his masterwork kukri also upgraded to +1(2000 gold), and buying a cloak of resistance +1. Is this possible?
Will probably add some more stuff into the list, but these should be the main ones.

Melthune "Sans helmet" |

Other than upgrading to mythril or adamantine...Melthune might buy some more 'Troll styptic' alchemical potions. Other than that, she'll be keeping the money to invest at/in Beacon.
Much cheers and best wishes to all.

Dain GM |

Polux - the Mithril Chain shirt and Kukri upgrade are okay; but there is no cloak of resistance here on the island.
Hack - no worries about the Great Axe.
Mel - you are free to buy the Troll Styptic if you'd like; and you are also able to upgrade to either Mithril or Adamanatine, so long as you pay the appropriate cost for the upgrade. Just note it on your sheet.

Taissa Sloane |

Taissa bought a +1 Mithral shirt (2100 gp), 5 slow-burn arrows (750 gp) and made her masterwork comp longbow magical (2000 gp). She spent 4850gp (using the 3000 gp from Johnny and the remainder (1850 gp) from her spare gold/personal wealth). My profile page has been updated accordingly.

Polux |

Polux - the Mithril Chain shirt and Kukri upgrade are okay; but there is no cloak of resistance here on the island.
Deal Dain ;)
Would any of these be available?
- Scroll of Shield
- Scroll of Protection from Evil
- Potion of Darkvision
- Potion of Spider Climb
- Oil of Bless Weapon
Last, would there be a chance to enhance my bow also to +1?
EDIT: Dain, would Snaga also receive one 3000 gold share?

Taissa Sloane |

Dain, I'm busy working this morning and can't post rp until my afternoon.
If you move the game forward to Beacon, I can either post retcon spoilers on the main board or over on the social rp page.

Polux |

Busy day today people. I'm gonna crash, and will try to have something up tomorrow.

Taissa Sloane |

Tomorrow I'm out of town for my niece's 5th birthday and the following day is Mother's Day ... and well -- have to celebrate. ;)
Enjoy your weekend plans, Dain GM.

Taissa Sloane |

Okay, what's happened to Melthune and Stefan? They haven't posted in game in a while.
Are you two still interested in playing?

Taissa Sloane |

Yes, Melthune did weigh in after I put forth my question. But I wish she had engaged in some form of rp/dialogue.
Stefan did mention (a week ago) that he was having some problems but haven't heard anything since ...

Taissa Sloane |

@Holystone: Just thought you'd like to know we have an alternate posting board for other social rp - private or in retcon. Just in case you ever want to use it yourself. It's Here. :)

Dain GM |

Ahoy!
Well gang, I’ve done all the response I can this morning before my trip. I’ll be away from internet and even cell phone reception until late Sunday night (I may be able to post one more time between now and then; it will depend on how fast I can pack).
Regarding Stefan – I never got a PM from him about his plans, so I don’t know what to do with that at this time yet.
Here’s my plan, though Sum-up at ending:
1. I was looking for players that were pro-active in their postings and frequent in the postings (at least once a day during weekdays, and hopefully at least 7-10 times a week). The main reason is that I set the DR of your challenges against the entire party being here. If people don’t post, or post frequently, that really nerfs things for the group as a whole because the DR is too high for only a few players.
Please think about that during the weekend; if you’re not up to continuing the game with at least 1 post a day during weekdays, and (hopefully) some during the weekends – if possible – let me know and I will try to replace you via the Recruitment Thread.
2. I know that not everyone can post all the time; but in the age of being able to check the boards from your cell phone I think it’s reasonable to be able to toss something up like – “Hey guys, I’ll be out of town for the weekend; or for the next three days,” – or whatever, that way we all know what’s going on and can work around someone.
Of course, if you're unable to post for a few days because of personal matters, that's totally cool. But at least tell the group what's going on before a few days pass with no postings at all - I think that's totally reasonable.
The thing is, if a person just stops posting for a few days it’s really hard for the rest of us to know what to do. It’s just being considerate to tell people you won’t be around if you can’t be around.
Please also keep that in mind if you’d like to keep playing.
3. The last thing about posting; a lot of times people toss up an idea to the others to discuss it. That can take a while – the best thing I can recommend for now is to just be pro-active. If you have a good idea at the time, just do it. If another player wanted to come along I’ll rule that they can ret-con that in their next post.
Right now Taissa wanted to see the Lord Regent and she did. Everyone who saw that she was doing and wanted to come already made a note that they wanted to come.
After that, Jenner wanted to check out the wagons and Taissa/Hack wanted to go to the inn; so the party split and I dealt with both groups. Jenner has some information from the folk at the wagons, and Taissa/Hack now have some interesting details on townsfolk inside the walls and at the wagons (more can be done with RP questions, though).
That’s what I mean about being proactive. Some people want to post and move forward; I’m down with that. If another player wants to come with, they can do so on their next post and we’ll just ret-con it in (unless the first player notes the mission is “private” – that’s another story).
Sum-up of plans: If people don't post or let me know they want to continue going at least sometime during by the three days I'm going to assume the player just wants to drop and I'll do what I can to adjust the group accordingly.
Finally
You guys are back in Beacon and things are starting to get interesting. Toss whatever you’d like on the boards via questions, comments, and discussion and I’ll respond to them as soon as I can – either later today (possible) or later this Sunday.
Have a great weekend!

Taissa Sloane |

@Dien: You're welcome. :)
@Dain: I will post something up tomorrow morning (my time). It's been a long day and it's late -- need to sleep. Night.

Dain GM |

Dain, GM: Sorry about your hospital visit and your head pains, dizziness etc. Hope it clears up soon.
Thanks, Taissa. BTW - if we don't hear from Polux soon you're free to RP out the details with Snaga, or anyone else if they'd like to.
I'm going to try to rest for a bit for now.

Taissa Sloane |

I think Polux is abed right now as it is after 2am his local time, I believe. So, he won't post until "tomorrow". I will wait until then but if he can't post for any reason, I will do the Snaga introduction on the board so the game can progress forward.
Yes, get some rest, please.

Melthune "Sans helmet" |

Get well soon Master DM.
Wishing you and yours all the very best.
Hope everything is going swell for every one else.

dien RPG Superstar 2015 Top 16 |

Apologies if there was any waiting on me, my weekends tend to be busy/slow as it is when I do my actual tabletop gaming, heh.
Just as a heads-up: next weekend I will be at Kubla Con and anticipate very little, if any, time/energy to post, from the 23rd through 26th.
Also, hospital visits are worrying. :-\ Recuperate, hydrate, and rest. Game will still be here whenever.

Polux |

Take care of yourself first and foremost Dain. Once you get back on your feet everyone will be here and waiting - no worries ;)
I am looking at a very busy day today - I will try to get a post up, but can't make any promises :/

Dain GM |

Hey guys, sorry about the map - it's really hard to make a map that looks realistic without drawing it by hand, and I'm not the best artist.
I think I'll be able to have a sketch out later, but it won't look very pretty and probably a bit different than the formal Varisian map, unfortunately.
Via the hospital visit - I have a follow-up doctor's appointment tomorrow, hopefully things will be okay, but at this point I'm not sure.
Anyway, if Polux is not able to post today does someone else want to toss it up? I know that Taissa suggested she might, but if not, it's first come - first serve.
Okay guys, I'm hoping to hear from someone soon. Meantime, thanks for the well-wishes; I'll keep you posted on what happens tomorrow.

Taissa Sloane |

It's going to be quite a busy day for me, today. I may not be able to post until tonight, my time. Just letting you guys know.

dien RPG Superstar 2015 Top 16 |

As a heads-up, I'm going to be at Kubla Con from the 23rd through the 26th, and I doubt I'll have much time to tag while there. I'll try and catch up on the boards each night and make sure I'm not missing anything super important, but please feel free to GMPC Holystone during that time if you're waiting on me.

Taissa Sloane |

@Dien: Enjoy Kubla Con! :D
To all: It's my niece's sweet 16 party on Saturday night -- and tomorrow (Friday, for me), my niece and her mum are coming up for a girl's pampering day and will be at my house, so posting will not be happening until later afternoon/evening. (I also have a thousand cupcakes I need to ice and decorate before the party, too. Haha.) Sorry for the hold up. (This means that I will be out of town from my Saturday morning to Sunday lunch time.)

Dain GM |

Enjoy your weekend, gang - and the parties and gatherings you all have :)
As for me, I'll likely be around to do whatever, so I'll probably be posting; but maps take me longer to do then writing, so that may slow things down a bit - which is okay since it seems that Jenner, Taissa, and possibly others will be busy with Real Life.
Okay - got to go for now, I hope that everyone enjoys their weekend, though.
Taissa enjoy your party and Jenner enjoy the Con :)
