Gaius Vekkhar |

Seeing the creature reduced to a pile of guts and meat with a single blow, Gaius blinks several times. He looks down at his sword for a moment and then looking rather abashed says, "Guess I don't know my own strength." His cheeks blush an ugly bruised color. "Alexi, are you alright?" he asks.

Alexi Moonspotter |

Alexi is sitting on the floor, his back resting against the wall. His legs are not fully extended, so that his knees are up off the ground. He's in shock, cradling the blood in a pool as it slowly seeps out from just below his lungs. Slowly, horror shifts into morbid analysis and fascination, even curiosity.
He looks up at Gaius, almost looking past him. Speaking in hollow tones as if still stunned "Yes thanks, I'm fine, or at least I will be. I can try to channel the divine arts to mend the wound, but it will be a while before I can do the same again. Thank you friend for stepping in after I was so foolhardy, I'm not sure what came over me in the moment"

Despite the situation, 'Chel can't help but quip, "If you ever feel the need to warn me, just skip the warning and tell me.." she eyed the formerly living thing on the floor with a raised eyebrow and a flick of an ear. "..I don't think I could survive otherwise."
Brushing past Gaius, she entered the room and begins to aid Alexi in the search.

"Yeah, next time let me get stabbed. I'm used to it." Gaius will kneel down and pick through the goop, to see if the creature had anything useful on it. "Will do 'Chelle." he says with a grin.
Search the dark creeper's body.

Azrim Deepwalker |

Azrim clears his throat as he looks at the bisected ruin of the assailant-turned-victim. "Ahum...aye, thanks be to Torag that we're on the same side, Gaius." Looking to Alexi, Azrim draws his holy symbol. "I'll help with that."

As both 'Chel and Alexi search the room together, Tom also takes a look. The furnishings are remarkably well preserved, and you find a cloak of resistance +1 hanging in one of the cabinets, as well as some more mundane priest's vestements.
In a rack filled with scrolls, you find two scrolls of delay poison mixed in with the ancient Thasillonian records.
Much of the rest is fairly run of the mill, but the Church of Pharasma may be interested in some of the texts and vestements.
As Gaius rifles through what is left of the creeper, he finds an engraved ivory bracelet, three freshwater pearls, and 27 gp, 32 sp.

Alexi Moonspotter |

Alexi looks up at Azrim with astonished relief, "Thank you Azrim, I'm very much better now."
Following the search ...
Extending his hand open hand to Gaius, he responds "Here, let me examine it."and he casts Detect Magic on the bracelet and the pearls. By the way, I've been keeping track of treasure and experience in my character sheet

The robes were a point of interest to 'Chel. She spent several seconds examining the robes, and then looking at the-- "victim" of Gaius' warning. "Do you suppose he was a priest?", she thought aloud, "He didn't seem so 'priestly', to me..."
Holding on whether or not it is announced that the cloak is magical, or who is storing/carrying the found items

Nichelle Crassior |
The bright-eyed sparkle to her eyes and the slight overtone of glee that was in her voice despite her attempts at hiding it said that 'Chel was anything but. "Well, if you think I should.." One hand was already undoing the tie on the cloak that she was wearing while the other hand reached for the-- her-- new hanging cloak. The old cloak was falling to her feet as the new one was swirling over her shoulders, spun there by a precise hand.
Those that were paying close attention would catch a glimpse of a couple of smallish pouches at her waist, several hilts under the vest that she wore, along with two more at the small of her back before it was covered by the cloak again, her tail starting just under those sheathes. It gave a fitful flick as the new cloak settled onto her shoulders to drape down her back. Turning to the group, her hands quickly tied it and she set one hand on her hip, giving them a genuinely appreciative smile. "Thank you."
A shrug of her shoulders settled the new cloak, and she looked in the direction that some of them had agreed on. "East?" Even though she was getting back to business, a smile still lingered about the corners of her mouth.

Tom, sometimes I just say what the magic item is in a play by post, to speed things up, and so you can use beneficial gear immediately.
Cautiously lifting the bar to the next room, ready for what may be behind it, you slowly open the door.
The theme of judgment in the afterlife is continued in the carvings on the walls of this room. A wide table stands along the north wall, draped with a heavy black cloth. A single candle burns in a tall, iron candlestick in the southwest corner, but the rest of the room is cloaked in shadows.
A strange voice seems to come from the north, "So, creeper from the dark has shown some courage finally? Come to steal Yrix's things, yesssss?"
A strange creature with a very wide head, large pointed ears, too many teeth and the body of a snake emerges, appearing from underneath the cloth of the table. Looking momentarily surprised, it speaks again. "Ah, you are not from the down below, pitssss. Did you kill the crepper from the dark placessss? Then we may help each other, yessss? Seeking treasure? Seeking fortune? Yrix has many things to tell you, for a price..." The word 'price' trails off into an unnecessary flourish of hissing.
"Yrix knows this church tomb well, knows what lies beyond. The blood of the Kaer Maga wormfolk flows in me, and much knowledge it gives. Draw back veils of mystery in this ossssssuary, yesss. Reveal the secrets of the Ancients, perhapsssss. But first, let us speak of the price, yessss?"
You might use Bluff, Intimidate, Diplomacy, or Sense Motive, or whatever other skills you think might be applicable here. The creature doesn't seem hostile. Perhaps this might be a good way to learn something about the Pharasman heretic you are trying to find, or what other types of creatures dwell in the ossuary.

Alexi sheaths his mace at his side and opens his palms up in a welcoming gesture, slowly stepping forward with his most earnest face on. "Ah, finally, someone reasonable, and intelligent that we can work with. I am Alexi and these are my friends we do seek information in aid of our quest and you do appear to be so very helpful. We're trying to sort out an issue of missing or disappearing corpses, would you knoe anything about that?"

Azrim Deepwalker |

Azrim thumps forward with a somewhat-contained snort at this new creature. He eyes the character suspiciously, not at all liking this talk of prices and trades. "Aye, as he said, we're here looking for graverobbers and blasphemers." His tone is pointed and matter-of-fact. "I'll not pay for underhanded secrets and hearsay. Have you seen any wrongdoings down here...come to think of it, what are you doing down here, anyway?"
