No, actually. Your last one did not hit. The Doc, even grappled, was just a little too dodgy for your last hit.
Although this one does. Well done, Nexus, you don't lose your grip on the guy.
The doctor stopped struggling in Nexus's arms. He turned his head... all the way around to "look" at him. A way too wide smile on his face.
"Oh, you'll see..."
The doctors mouth then opened in front of Nexus, unhinging into a maw of darkness from which inside the woman he had killed begins reaching out at him.
Concentration=Phantasmal Killer: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (20) + 14 = 34

Xander Nivore |

Xander by instinct grabbed the second Revolver from the air. He began to laugh, as he moved towards Clara, placing the Pathfinder at her feet, and adding the box of ammo, as he walked past. He came to rest, 10 feet from the grappling mess of limbs, nodding to Marco in thanks.
"Well well well... Now you ARE f!%%ed!" He grinned, flicking the chamber open and reaching in to his pocket, to begin slowly reloading the empty Revolver.
"Don't worry Nex. I won't hit you. You have no fear of that. But you, you freaky little creature, you are gonna pay." He flicked the Revolver closed and drew his other gun, smiling broadly, his eyes slipping closed for a moment.
"Fuuuuck it is good to be back." He cracked his neck, as he lowered the weapons and trained them on the enemy. "So. Damn. Good!"
That is a mess of actions but it all adds up. I draw as a free action, reload as a move and can put the stuff by Clara as part of my move past.

So that was my last round, now for the round after the Phantasmal Killer right? Thanks Nex. Even though you are grabbing him, you made him a lot easier to hit. He is, I believe, Flat-footed, so I am shooting at Flat-footed touch AC.
Xander grinned as the demon thing twisted his head to stare at Nexus. "Nuh-uh b#@&*. Not in my house!"
Pain1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 182d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 4) + 2 = 10
Panic1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 142d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 3) + 2 = 11
Grit Point for damage. 1 Point left.

Nexus Alexander |

big money big money big money.....
F@~$ ME: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 2 = 13
F+** ME SIDEWAYS: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 1 + 2 = 22

Instead of using his head to break the window, I'm going to do this in his eye holes.

Doctor Calista De-Romana |

Checks out the shuttle and for flight, then jumps in the pilots seat.
She checks over weapons systems and targets the ship she just came from. It was coming back to her now. From what she could hear on the radio things where bad over there.

Either or... |

The woman reached for him and then inside of him. Nexus's heart stopped.
The void inside the Doctor's mouth seemed to grow, everywhere all along the ship, and then he looked at the planet and he realized with a start that's what it was. The planet... the planet was the true devourer of everything, the doctor was just a focus point, a conduit.
He let go with one hand and smashed himself in the chest.
3d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 5) = 14
Ooh, sorry Nexus. Looks like that's going to knock you down to -1. So you aren't dead but you're no longer a factor in the fight either.

Nexus Alexander |

Alright guys, the pawn has been sacrificed, do me well!
I was right... it's... it's just the beginning... Damn... Wonder if I'll live to see.... To see the end of that planet.... I have to tell them... have to... have to tell them what it is... what that planet is...
But Nexus could not speak, he was dying- subdued almost permanently this time by that crazy psycho b*!$& once again.
13 - 14 = -1, so I am technically in the "dying" position, no longer grappling, have fallen essentially unconscious aside from whatever further illusions/ will casts the Doctor continues to put on Nexus

Well I will say this Nexus. You forced the Doctor to use his trump card on you. He doesn't have any more big whammies like that.
Nexus fell and the Doctor shifted his grin toward the rest of the group. Now he was free again.
Meanwhile...
The gruff male voice started up again as Calista sat in the pilot seat and activated the console screen. Whoever had been here before had clearly readied the ship for combat against something... but she suspected the planet's inhabitants never let them get much further. "Weapon systems engaged... thrusters initiating... Target locked."

Nexus Alexander |

I'm going to go ahead and roll that and Nexus' inner dying monologue before the campaign goes all screwey on me a freakin' gain lol
I wanna wish you a merry christmas!: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (11) - 2 = 9
What... is this tingling? Is this death? I always read it doesn't hurt. Does... does this hurt?

Doctor Calista De-Romana |

She powered up the ship and got the feck out of there. As she did she targeted the planet, then lets everything go at it.
Powering out as fast as she could out the grave yard of ships.

Either or... |

Well it's not exactly like the ship was armed with tactical nukes or anything... but this might have done something for you.
1d100 ⇒ 37
With the help of the on board A.I. Calista was able to maneuver the ship around to provide a solid firing solution to where she thought she had the best chance to interfere with whatever was happening on the planet.
But without waiting to see if anything would happen, she spun the ship around and applied the thrusters to maximum.

Clara Jenkins |

The round Nexus grappled the doctor.
Clara had never shot a gun before, but she wasn't doing much with the knife. She picked it up and aimed it at the "doctor."
What the hell?
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Oh no fumble!!
damage: 2d4 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6
Fumble confirmation: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Clara Jenkins |

Round after Nexus falls unconscious.
Clara looked up, almost panicking as the Doctor stared back at them all. She had seen some strange shadowy thing grasp at Nexus before he fell over and she didn't want the same thing to happen to her.
She hurriedly picked up the revolver again and took aim. Desperation filling her.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
damage!: 2d4 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6

Either or... |

The shots of guns rang out again and again.
Xander fired twice as Nexus fell to the ground. One shot the doctor seemed to dodge out of the way of, the other landed squarely in his shoulder. Throwing him to the side, but he kept his feet.
Both Clara's shots missed their target and Marco's swing with the torch was just a little too slow for him to get a solid hit on the doctor, now that he was free.
The Doctor smiled and reached into his lab coat, drawing out another syringe as he stabbed at Marco.
Syringe: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 Fumble again!!
Damage + Dc.15 Fort save: 1d2 ⇒ 1
Fumble confirmation: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25

Xander Nivore |

Yes you are. Huzzah.
Xander frowned, taking a step to the side, to keep Marco out of his line of sight, as he sighted once again, before pulling the triggers on both of his revolvers.
Pain-1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 152d6 ⇒ (5, 1) = 6
Panic-1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 202d6 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7
Ugh those damage rolls though...

Either or... |

The Doctor recoiled and twisted as he was shot and torched again. He let out a frustrated and somewhat labored grunt of frustration. "Perhaps you have the right idea. A more conventional manner of dealing with you is required." With a forced step backwards he moved away from Marco and pulled out what Xander recognized as a .50 caliber Desert Eagle auto loader. He pointed the gun at Marco oulled the trigger.
Deadly aim Attack: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 11 - 2 = 14
deadly aim damage: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (1, 2) + 4 = 7

Xander Nivore |

Xander whistled softly through his teeth. "Sweet piece of hardware bro. Thanks, in advance. I could use something big, gaudy and powerful, if only to scare morons with!"
Xander sighted down his sleeker, more sensible pair of revolvers, grinning as he pulled the triggers simultaneously.
Spend Grit
Pain-1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 192d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 6) + 2 = 11
Panic-1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 162d6 + 2 ⇒ (2, 6) + 2 = 10
I nearly took Deadly Aim so, meta-ly, I know how outgunned I am now. F$$$. :P hahaha

Either or... |

And thats it... you took him down.
Clara's shot came in and hit the doctor in the leg making him stagger for a moment. Xander took the moment and fired both his guns in unison. They both found their mark.
"Gaaaaaahhhhhh." With a horrifying scream of denial the Doctor fell to the floor. Strangely no nlood flowed out of his body.
There was a brief moment where everyone who was still awake felt a sensation like an oppressive weight was being lifted off of them. Nexus seemed to breathe easier a few momemts later but he was still unconscious.
What are you doing now?

Xander Nivore |

Xander moved over to the Doctor, kicking the Magnum out of his hand and watching for and sign of life.
Heal-1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
He picked up the Magnum and rifled through the pockets of the Doctors clothes, before adding all of the things he found to a pile on a table close to the doorway. He took a moment to glance around the room, searching for more items that may help.
Perception-1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
He sighed, before turning to the door they had entered and the access panel. He holsters his guns and draws out the toolkit, sticking a screwdriver between his teeth and grabbing a wrench.
"Well this is the helm. Either of you a Pilot? If so... How about we get out of here? Oh... And if someone could see to Nex, that would be good. I'm gonna rig this door to only open when we want."
Knowledge Engineering-1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Boy is it good to be out of combat. All of the actions. HaHaha
EDIT: Well f*~@... All of the bad rolls. At least the last one worked I guess... I was hoping to find some more stuff but sure...

Either or... |

Aside from the Desert Eagle he took, Xander found 3 spare clips for it on the Doctors body. Each clip held 8 shots and they were all loaded. He checked the body but couldn't detect any obvious signs of life but then again the body was so alien now, that he would have been hard pressed in the first place. He then began work on the door to help seal it down.
Clara went over to see if she could assist Nexus into waking. He seemed to not be suffering obviously but she tended to him anyway just to be safe. Heal: 1d20 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (15) + 4 + (3) = 22 She was fairly confident she had managed to get him stabilized and kept his internal bleeding stopped, but he would need several days of bed rest just to be sure..
Marco headed for the helm control panel and began initiating the sequence for activating the main engine. It appeared it was on lock down from here but he had gotten them operational directly so he was soon able to get them unlocked and able to be directly controlled again.
...
Not long after, with Marco at the helm of the ship they were able to escape the gravitational pull of the planet and escape the ship graveyard that had surrounded it.
Several hours later, they were able to breathe a little easier as they were far away from the planet and on one of the radar monitors they picked up the scout ship that Calista had escaped in. Contact was made and it was determined that all of them had indeed been on the ship at some point or another.
It wasn't easy at first, as Marco as the only one with any piloting experience had to man the ship for a majority of the trip alone, the others picking up tidbits of information along the way. After the first stress filled day had passed, it was determined that no one had had any strange nightmares that had been mentioned in a vast array of log reports that could be found all over the ship.
It was discovered through the use of the security sub-stations that the strange creature, as well as the awful pile of bodies which had made up its lair, that Xander and Nexus had both sworn they had seen before making it to the helm, was nowhere to be found on the ship. Despite having nowhere to go.
Clara had eventually recalled that a great number of individuals had been freed from their cryo sleep where she had been located. Every single one of the 14 surviving crew members on the first level, who hadn't been completely beaten to death seemingly by the others, seemed to have suffered some sort of severe psychological meltdown and were little more than barely alive and had to be put back into cryo sleep just to keep them alive.
Supplies were garnered over the days and with the help of some bed rest Nexus was quickly nursed back to health. Making use of the shipboard A.I. on the scout ship Calista was on, they were able to make their way back to Earth. Where the survivors planned on how to report what they had encountered and what was to occur with them next...
Congratulations everyone! You have all survived my game. There were many close calls for everyone and you all did it within one game day! Normally this would be where I would tell you to level up, goodness knows you all deserve it, but for now this is all I had planned.
I know I definitely strayed from my initial promises on how I was planning to run the game but all in all, I thought it was a success. Sorry to anyone who felt like it turned out a little too much like a dungeon crawl adventure. I hope you enjoyed playing Call of the Abyss.
Also be sure to check in again for an Epilogue after mission report.

Epilogue 1:
United Free Network Media: June 21st.
Missing ship thought lost returns! Returning crew numbers only 62 of 240! Investigation underway!
In a strange turn of events earlier today, the missing military vessel known as the Javelin returned to United Earth air space. Along with it, a smaller unnamed space craft returned as well. The Javelin was thought to have been lost after all long range communications with it were suddenly cut off and any attempts since then had been unsuccessful in the 3 months since it's initial departure as a search and rescue operation.
Although sources are as yet unclear as to what exactly occurred on the voyage, several facts are clear dear readers; whatever happened on that ship, was deadly for many involved.
As family members, friends of the crew, and members of the press flocked to the docking bay and began demanding to know what happened, they were held off by official members of military. Pending investigation.
5 as of yet unidentified crew members were led off the two ships and out of the docking bay by official personnel. Later, 57 additional personnel were brought off the the Javelin and placed into immediate psychiatric wards. When the Javelin first set off it was reported to have had a full compliment of 180 normal crew, supplemented by 60 additional personnel. Where those other 178 souls are remains a mystery.
As of this time, there are confirmed reports of several of the initial investigation team members sent aboard the ship were seen exiting the ship in a hurry, refusing to go back aboard. One was seeing throwing up upon exiting.

Walks off the ship head high, she just faced down a whole alien psionic planet and lived to tell the tail. In fact should would be doing that over and over as the Psicorps interrogated and mind probed her over what actually happened.
