Elysium "Eli" Blackdun |

Eli once again takes half a step back, before nodding and acknowledging his cousin's decision.
"May the High One protect you as well." he adds in a voice devoid of emotion.
Another quick hug, and then returning to work, head hung lower than before.

GM Angelina |

Hi, guys. I'm afraid I have to retcon one significant detail:
Natanja would bow out in the manner previously described, but she wouldn't loan Oko to Poterol. It was pointed out to me that she needs Oko to refresh her daily spells, and that she had previously said in gameplay that she would never separate from him, even for a day, so that was my mistake.
Although Vigilant doesn't have a courier bird system set up, Resplendent probably does, so you can still send a message to someone in Vigilant after you arrive in the Capital, if you find reason to do so.
As the blazing sun rises higher in the sky, nine of you set out on the long trade road from Vigilant toward Resplendent.
Eli and Sister Azmaria sleep in the back of the cart in the morning. Shyness and Cernan sleep in the back of the cart in the afternoon. Aeryth, Marius, Poterol, Chap, Arabeth, and the mounts sleep at a makeshift roadside camp at night, while the four who slept during the day keep watch ... and the pattern repeats itself...
So, would everyone please make a perception check ... and an initiative check ... you know, just in case. ;)

Elysium "Eli" Blackdun |

Initiative (day 1): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Initiative (any other day): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 11
EDIT: just to be clear, I have a different Initiative, because my dexterity is slowly getting better. The 1st day it's 13, but after that it's 14 again! Huzzah!

Cernan the Patient |

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
If you want to calculate these in secret, or just make a bunch at once, the info should also be on the spreadsheet IIRC.

Celestial Summons Game Post
Nine of you continue on the long trade road from Vigilant toward Resplendent, getting used to the routine of travel. A sense of urgency still nags at the back of your minds, but there's nothing else you can do for now.
Eli and Sister Azmaria sleep in the back of the cart each morning. Shyness and Cernan sleep in the back of the cart each afternoon. Aeryth, Marius, Poterol, Chap, Arabeth, and the mounts sleep at a makeshift roadside camp each night, while the four who slept during the day keep watch. And, the pattern repeats.
On your ninth day of travel, in the middle of nowhere, as you ride the road under the blazing sun of a particularly hot afternoon, things suddenly get a lot hotter. A low roar sounds as fire engulfs the entire lot of you, flames instantly covering people, mules, and cart in a blazing inferno.
Marius, Chap, Cernan, Arabeth, and Shyness take 23 fire damage and drop unconscious. (No one made a perception check high enough to see this coming. I rolled reflex saves for everyone in a discussion thread spoiler. Cernan and Shyness took extra penalties since they were sleeping.) Aeryth takes 23 fire damage, but remains conscious, barely. Rex, Sister Azmaria, Eli, Poterol, and the mules succeed on their reflex saves and only take 12 fire damage. (Let me know if any of you have something that I missed, like fire resistance or evasion, to lessen this.)
From somewhere well off the side of the road to your right, a nasty chittering chuckle can now be heard, along with a single word:
However, nothing unusual can be seen in that direction.
Sister Azmaria, Eli, Poterol, and Aeryth find themselves badly burned, the cart on fire, the mules panicking, and their allies suddenly unconscious and possibly dying.
Before they can act, a singed-yet-growling Rex shoots off the road to the right and surges toward a point about 50 feet away, his jaws snapping viciously through the air. You hear something like a frightened squawk coming from seemingly nowhere, and yet somewhere near Rex.
Sister Azmaria, Eli, and Poterol can now act, more-or-less simultaneously. Aeryth's initiative is too low to act just yet, although he could speak a few words.
Good luck!

Elysium "Eli" Blackdun |

Growling - a curiously flat noise, coming from behind Eli's mask - the young man points to his downed comrades as he takes off moving rapidly. "Those with the ability, please ensure our cousins live. For the rest of us," his mask slipping off in his charge, "let us destroy the pest!" he finishes, with a curious emotion on his now-revealed face - a strange combination of fury, almost a kind of excitement... and joy.
Charge for +2 to attack, Controlled Euphoria +4 STR (+2 attack and damage), total +4 attack, +2 damage (+3 for a two-handed weapon), reflected below.
Attack!: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 Damage: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 Miss Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 55

Cernan the Patient |

Oh boy, -7 hp!

Brit "Chap" Norgant |

stay in saddle: 1d100 ⇒ 100
Chap stabilize DC 14: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Chap stablized at -4hp
Horse stabilize DC 18: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Horse -9
Chap's horse grinds in teeth in agony as it slumps to the ground in burning agony, Chap passes out from fear before the flames consume her body, slumping over in the saddle atop the dying horse.

Sister Azmaria |

Azmaria rolls out of the way of the blast but not quite far enough to avoid it all together. a quick check indicates that her ammo is safe.
a survey of the situation indicates that there are some in need, her pistol drawn, and the barrel in postion for a normal shot (as opposed to a silver shot), Azmaria decides that there isn't a clear shot yet; she turns her attention to the fallen.
she holsters her gun, and begins a prayer in celestial.
Lord of Heaven,
I rest underneath your mighty wings of love.
I dwell within your gentle heart.
I know there is healing in your touch.
Through the sufferings of Christ I can ask for restoration
And trust in your goodness.
You are my Lord, my Saviour,
My healer and my friend.
I dwell within your gentle embrace.
Amen.
Azmaria's body glows with a divine light that washes over the entire group.
channel healing: 1d6 ⇒ 1
channel to heal should get everyone except those that ran off to fight the bad guy.
edit: looks like god isn't in the healing mood right now...

GM Angelina |

Sister Azmaria's divine glow washes over the group, bringing a small measure of much-needed healing to all.
All PCs and mounts (but not Rex) heal 1hp. Those who were dying are now stabilized. (Although, if the fire on the cart isn't put out soon, Cernan and Shyness won't be stable for long.) Marius and Shyness awake (Marius slumped on a panicking mule, Shyness lying in a burning cart next to an unconscious Cernan), but are staggered at 0 hp.
Eli charges to attack the air in front of Rex. As he swings down Mayor Daniel's greataxe, a horrible howl can be heard, seemingly from nowhere.
Poterol moves quickly to heal Closest Ally: 1d5 ⇒ 2 Chap.
Chap regains consciousness at 4 hp.
Imp Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Stinger Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Eli Fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
An imp becomes visible between Eli and Rex as it stings Eli with its tail.
Eli takes 1 hp damage but manages to shake off the poison.
Eli and Rex get attacks of opportunity as the imp attempts to fly straight up.

Cernan the Patient |

Well that channel will, at least, stabilize everyone. Cernan, on his turn, distinctly does not bleed to death.

Elysium "Eli" Blackdun |

"Your insults reveal only your lack of intellect."
Attack! Again!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 Damage: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

GM Angelina |

Rex Attack of Opportunity: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
The imp, still visible after stinging Eli, quickly flies straight up in an escape attempt. As it does so, Eli manages to slice through part of its thick skin again with the greataxe, but Rex only manages to chomp the air.
The imp was about 50ft off the road, and now it has flown up about 50ft, so it's about a 70ft straight line distance (diagonally up) to the majority of the party. (It is about 50ft up, directly above Eli and Rex.) It is still visible, for the moment. Aeryth, Shyness (staggered and prone), Marius (staggered and prone), Rex, Sister Azmaria, Eli, Chap (prone), and Poterol can each now take a turn. Cernan and Arabeth still lie unconscious, Cernan in the burning cart with Shyness, and Arabeth on her horse.

Elysium "Eli" Blackdun |

"Everyone: you need to hit it with everything you have now." Eli says, dropping his axe for his bow and a silver arrow.
Attack?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Aaaaaaaaaand of course I miss. Against an imp that has [redacted].
EDIT: Broken or useless?: 1d100 ⇒ 14 WELP. ARROW WASTED.

Sister Azmaria |

Azmaria, seeing everyone is safe for now, she get a visual on what they are facing.
She turns toward the imp's direction and advances a few paces drawing her pistol she rotates the barrel, The holy scriptures are useless, this calls for the Gospel.
Boom ranged touch: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
damage with silver bullet: 1d8 ⇒ 7
EDIT: Azmaria will burn a grit point to double her range increment to 40' unless it is within 20' then she will use it for smiteing shot to add +4 more damage and will bypass all DR

Cernan the Patient |

Azmaria, the thing is about 70' in the air, which means it's probably at least two range increments away.

Marius' eyes shoot open to a wave of flame washing over the group. Wracked with pain, he can only turn his head enough to see the flaming remains of all of their supplies a dozen feet to the right. Beneath him the world shook in panic. Somewhere, Eli is shouting for help. Elsewhere, Rex is barking like it's the end of days. It sure felt like it.
Gritting his teeth, the hunter digs deep and tries to pull out some of the hardy constitution he'd always had. Of course, he'd never been burnt quite this badly before. He could feel his skin - what was left of it - crawling all over his body. Steeling his nerves, he pulled what was left of himself together. His friends - his family - was burning alive around him.
Using a swift action to apply aspect of the bear to myself, giving +2 Con and the accompanying +2 temporary HP.
Lifting his head, he can see a bat-winged creature flying high in the sky above. The mule he was riding on was still alive, somehow. It was terrified and bucking, but Marius was so out of it he could hardly feel it. He spotted Eli, pointing a bow skyward. It was all Marius needed to know. He reached for his bow, acting on instinct, and found it where he'd left it, somehow still in one piece. He brought it up while his hands sought the silver arrow he'd been given. Putting shaft to string, he took aim and fired skyward.
Longbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Not sure what penalty I get for firing off a panicked mount and... oh. Huh. Well, that's Marius' luck. Nevermind.

Poterol |

Poterol sees the imp, but knows that nothing he can do will hurt it. He instead turns to the cart and casts Create Water to try to dampen the fires enough to pull his companions out of it.

Sister Azmaria |

Azmaria, the thing is about 70' in the air, which means it's probably at least two range increments away.
ok so move 30 feet and grit point to double range increment to 40 feet that should help

GM Angelina |

Eli calls upon his allies to attack the fiend.
Aeryth quickly draws a javelin and expertly hurls it at the flying imp, drawing a sharp squeal of pain as it pierces the tough hide, but doesn't do enough damage to bring the tiny fiend down.
Shyness successfully manages to drag herself and Cernan out of the burning cart, but then collapses unconscious (and unstable at -1 hp) from the effort.
Marius pulls upon inner reserves of strength to grab a silver arrow and shoot it toward the fiend, but the wildly bucking mule he rides upon causes the shot to go incredibly wide.
Rex can only growl up at the imp 50 ft. above his head.
Sister Azmaria shoots a silver bullet, but the tiny fiend just barely manages to flutter out of the way.
Eli shoots a silver arrow straight up, but also narrowly misses the dexterous little imp.
Chap and Poterol, I know you posted actions, but I wanted to know if seeing what other actions came before you in initiative would change your actions.
Things to keep in mind:
Chap, you saw the imp take one move and go 50ft up. If you don't fly, you are 70ft from the imp. If you take one flying move action, you'll be 50 ft away, and still have a standard action. If you take a double flying move, you'll be 30ft away, and have no action left. As soon as it has a chance to do so, the imp could go invisible again. Because it's been so long, I do want to remind you, Chap, that you have two Cernan-crafted silver arrows that could be used in that longbow of yours. It's up to you if you would want to use one of them now. Alternately, there is a dying Shyness and a stable but even-more-badly-burned unconscious Cernan lying on the ground nearby, and an equally-more-badly-burned stable but unconscious Arabeth slumped on her horse nearby. The party spreadsheet lists you as having spontaneous cure spells, Chap. If that's correct, then those are also an option.
Poterol, Shyness successfully dragged Cernan out of the cart and a bit away from the flames before she collapsed unconscious and dying again. They are not on fire. Although dousing the cart could be a good action soon, I suspect you'll want to use this particular turn to heal another ally. Cernan, Shyness, and Arabeth are all good targets. If Cernan or Arabeth could be healed enough to be brought to consciousness, they could also get in an action before anything else happens. Who would Poterol heal next, and how? Or, would he still have a reason to create water now?
Chap and Poterol should confirm or change their actions, and I'll need to respond, before anyone else takes another action. A few brief words could, however, be spoken, and a perception check made, if desired...

GM Angelina |

Poterol, about to cast water upon the wagon, suddenly sees Shyness burst out through the flames, dragging an unconscious Cernan. She collapses, momentarily unconscious and dying again, at Poterol's feet, until he quickly bends down to let his healing magic revive her once more. Shyness regains consciousness, lying prone, at 8hp.
Chap, surprisingly, takes flight, moving up toward the imp while aiming her bow and firing a single Cernan-crafted silver arrow straight through the tiny flying fiend's tough hide. The imp squeals in extremely intense pain. You suspect it can't take much more, but it doesn't quite fall.
Instead, the imp disappears.
Everyone (except for the currently very unconscious Arabeth and Cernan who are both at negative six hp) can now take a turn. For their sakes, and your own, I suggest you use it very, very wisely.
Also, if you'd like to make a high perception check and wait for my response before posting your action, go for it.
Good luck!

Sister Azmaria |

Azmaria, pistol drawn, takes aim at the imp in the air. her hands tremble.
she glances back at the destruction with the cart. some lie there grievous wounds.
she tries to aim her gun then glances back again. dang it. she mutters and she holsters her gun and returns as quickly as possible to those that have fallen.
heal check: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (9) + 0 = 9
unsure which is in need the most she goes to Arabeth first and with a gentle touch her divine energy flows through her, healing Arabeth's burns.
lay on hands: 1d6 ⇒ 3
dang overprotective drawback

Elysium "Eli" Blackdun |

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Eli pulls out two arrows - one silver, one plane, and notches the plain one this time, aiming directly at the space the imp disappears, glancing at his various cousins out of the corner of his eye to see if he adjusts his target space.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4 Miss Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 6
Broken or useless?: 1d100 ⇒ 1
It is entirely impossible for me to succeed at this Perception check, even on a natural 20: presuming it has a dexterity greater than -2, the size modifier alone makes such an attempt needless. I don't think Aid Another is possible for Perception, barring unusual circumstances (ala the Gob Smash One game). Hence, I'm just firing blindly. If someone else does succeed, I will adjust and aim where they say. If not, I'll just loose the arrow at the spot the imp just was.
EDIT: Gr. Welp. NEVERMIND, as I clearly miss anyway.
>:(
EDIT 2: The extent of the failure of this post is impressive. I mean, I missed the attack, the damage wouldn't have penetrated DR, I missed the miss chance, and the arrow is broken and lost (though fortunately I'd already specified the normal arrow - I was hoping to be able to adjust to the silver arrow, but hadn't mentioned anything like that, sooooo...).

GM Angelina |

When the imp disappears, Aeryth hurries 50ft away from the wagon to avoid potentially being caught in another blast of fire.
Sister Azmaria hurries over to the very unconscious Arabeth slumped on her horse, her touch spreading a holy healing glow and bringing Arabeth further away from death, from -6 hp to -3 hp.
Chap flies up closer to where the imp disappeared, and readies herself to shoot if she has the chance.
---
Eli, at first aiming straight above his head where the imp disappeared, shifts his target to an area somewhat closer to the wagon but off to the side a bit, and looses an arrow, which doesn't seem to hit anything in its flight.
Marius, Poterol, and Shyness (prone) may now take actions, and Chap could attempt a shot, if she knew where to shoot ... Perception DC 20, going once, going twice...

Sister Azmaria |

do I see it?: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
I smell something burning, I wonder if its a BBQ? why is everyone running around?
