Menstras searches amongst the fallen warriors for anything worth salvaging. 1d100 ⇒ 79

Aldegund would probably do the same.

Space Marine Dark Apostle 2/18 wounds 3/3 infamy fatigue 1

"Magnus is now a creature of the Architect of Fate, and he sent us here for a myriad purposes. What is the significance of this xenos structures and the automata guarding it, and how does it fit into the schemes of his god?"

Akkad waits just inside the monolith for his fellows to finish studying the broken machines, anxious to explore this mystery.

Can we tell how far down the hole goes?

Aldegund also looks through the wrecked machines quickly 1d100 ⇒ 100 but doesn't find anything salvageable.

Auspex indicates the shaft goes straight down about 100 meters. That's a pretty far drop that would hurt even an Adeptus Astartes jumping straight down. You all would have some basic climbing gear in your suits and would require a challenging (+0) athletics roll to make it down if you wish to.

Would my wings allow me to drift downwards?

Menstras' scowl accsntuates his voice.
"We have little choice but to discover the answer."
Athletics: 1d100 ⇒ 41

Taloc yes you would be ok to drift down.

Taloc will drift down last, in case anyone else should happen to skip and fall, best they take only themselves with them...

Aldegund looks down the 100m shaft "Anyone has some sort of rope? looking at the group in a futile attempt to see of someone or something to help their decent.

Deathraven checks the opening for width.

"Those of us with jetpacks can get down and either carry the others or allow them to be ferried down with the usage of the packs."

Draex walks into the monolith, covered in thick stinky blood and gore of the scarabs but littledid they do to ssatiate his everlasting blood lust. With a blank stare as if moving by the hunt alone draex pushes past the marines and since he knows no fear draex jumps into the hole digging his whirling axes into the walls using it as makeshift climbing tools and scale down.

1d100 ⇒ 55 vs 60

I thought i failed until i saw that plus 10 to athletics.... saved

as you see draex fall into the darkness sparks flying from the axe

Quick question, how many DoS do you need to pass the test or is it a single roll, or multiple rolls?

Single roll. Failure based on DoF determines how much damage you take from the fall.

Taloc turns to Aldegund, "I believe I can carry you down weapons master. If I cannot, I will use my powers to assist with the burden. After all, what could possibly go wrong with such a plan? If we do not hurry down soon, Draex will kill everything before we get a chance to even see it".

"Not necessary" stretching his arm asking him to stop. "Yes I must hurry, watching him fight brings me some joy, for it's like liberating a living weapon"

1d100 ⇒ 18

Akkad flashes Taloc a hideous grin only he can see with his warpsight, and extends his unmutated arm to him. "I would be honoured for your assistance, blessed as you are."

Taloc nods to Akkad, "With pleasure Brother".

Taloc grips Akkad and unfurls his wings gliding down with him, he asks, "Can your other self determine where we are?"

If I need to i will use my powers to reduce the speed of our descent.

fall damage deathraven: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Everyone makes it to the bottom. Some gracefully, some not so gracefully as Deathraven bounced off the floor but his armor and toughness absorb the damage.

As you approach the bottom of the shaft, you begin to see a dim green glow. Upon completing the descent, the tunnel opens into a large antechamber, 15 metres square, with walls that slope gradually inwards, with the tunnel forming the peak of the pyramidal structure. The room’s walls are coated in black flat black slabs, as solid as stone and as hard as steel. Impossibly, the green light seems to emanate from nowhere in the room, yet it suffuses the very air to illuminate the space with a pallid light. A single doorway opens into a passage three metres wide and three metres tall that leads from the room.

"Perhaps. The warp will surely have left is touch on every centimeter of this structure, let's see what we see..."

psyniscense TN 63: 1d100 ⇒ 6

The only psychic presence you feel is Taloc.

Space Marine Dark Apostle 2/18 wounds 3/3 infamy fatigue 1

"This is impossible. This place is completely untouched by the warp! We are in the Eye of Heaven, how could this be?"

"Strange indeed. Xenos technologies at work, somehow, some way? Aldegund, any thoughts?"

Deathraven moves to take a watch position next to the doorway, watching for others to arrive to investigate.

"Ggggrrrr.....ggggrrrrr....."
Draex stands sentinel scanning for signs of life to snuff out..... slowly his forward conscience slowly comes back into play... the nails retreating cause there is no blood to be had here. Draex has a thought in his mind instead of mindless pain

Draex's thought:

.oO(Kill, kill, and kill)

how original right

"Or-ders"
Draex speaks attempting to communicate with his fellow company

Common Lore Tech 45 1d100 ⇒ 42

"It is of Xenos origins more likely and unknown origin, I would require taking some samples to truly check the logs for any other encounters with this Xenos technology as of now, I have never heard the Iron Warriors fighting such Xenos, or we would have at least reviewed their weapons if we had" excitement in Aldegund words as he keeps looking around trying to find something he could take back to further experiment and study with.

"Worse case, we will have to destroy this structure that might work as some sort of power station, and if there is no foreign energies like the warp, they must be using some sort of physical energy transportation device of some range, the question would be what's the range and where are those metal drones stored so we can blow them up before they can become active"

There is not much in this room except the passageway which Deathraven is standing guard right now.

Draex pushes forward holding his head, while holding his axe.
"All... I know... is that these things dont bleed... arrggh" Draex exclaims with a grunt

"All this can be destroyed... if you ask... me"

Space Marine Dark Apostle 2/18 wounds 3/3 infamy fatigue 1

"Whatever xenos built them is likely long extinct. Let's move forward, and see what is in here before more of the defensive systems reactive."

"Did those things seem extinct to you, brother?"

Deathraven brought his bolter up and moved down the corridor.

The tunnel continues on for 15 metres and then splits at a four-way intersection. You can go left, right or straight.

Feels like a good old dungeon crawl!

Taloc looks down each corridor, "This is quite an odd place. Sitting on a planet in the Eye with no warp signatures to speak of? I think it goes without saying that we should stick together. I would tend to start with the right passageway and sweep left until we find some answers".

Deathraven nods and turns right, continuing down the corridor.

Stealth: 1d100 ⇒ 32 v 53

Menstras will scout a short distance ahead as a screen.

To the right, after another 15-metre hallway, a doorway opens into a room that is 50 metres long, 20 wide, and 20 high and is dominated by a single enormous, glowing green crystalline structure with a phalanx of 10 of those metal warriors standing stationary in front of the structure. As you look and enter in the crystalline structure rises into the air, held aloft by invisible forces. Green arcs of lightning stab out from the crystalline structure.

Draex's heart beat pounds like a hammer hitting and avil sending burst of super oxygenated blood throughout his being for all those that can see he is fighting the fight of his life to restrain himself from charging in....

"Orders! Aarrgggh" he screams through the vox

"Do what you do best. Kill them all."

Deathraven brings up his weapon and opens fire.

So about that extra 150 XP Caps... :-)

Taloc shrugs and fires Doombolts at the figures, he briefly considers striking the crystal but decides against it.

Doombolt 1d100 ⇒ 69

Damage 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

...and the dice roller is still hot for me.

The bolt bounces off one of the machine creatures and it does not move.

Draex rounds on the nearest metal warrior within the next tic of his heart beat both blades behind him ready to bring them crashing down on the automaton

Im guessing we ambushing

One of the ten machines begins to move as your group moves in to attack.

Roll init so we don't have wild west.

This wouldn't happen to be one of those antiwarp crystals the Necrons use?

Init: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Looks more like a power source of some kind bringing these ones back to life.

Space Marine Dark Apostle 2/18 wounds 3/3 infamy fatigue 1

init: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Initiative 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Initiative: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

So this is a surprise round or not?

Yeah go ahead and do your attacks for 1 round.

Aldegund takes quick aim to the glowing crystalline structure "Break their power source"

Half-action aim
Standard Attack
Ballistic Skill 46+20 1d100 ⇒ 59
Damage 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (7, 2) + 20 = 29E, Pen 32 (Double for short range)

The multi-melta blast strikes the crystal structure and it begins to grow a sickly dark green until it turns dark black snuffing all the light from the room and explodes.

Make dodge checks please
