Gonna post this. If the worm should be slain before Sebastian's turn, have him continue on to the BBEG
Sebastian shrugs off the minor wound and faces the worm
"Thou hast met thy death, agent of chaos!"
1d20 + 16 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 16 + 2 = 241d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 11 + 2 = 142d6 + 13 + 1d6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 13 + (1) = 251d6 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 6 + (5) = 14
Ugh

Moff DM |

*Bump*
And, up next...
Vassago
Pinna
Elysia
Sebastian
BBG
E.
Worms
Lanwin
Ra's-ug
"5"
Ok, kind of waiting on Vassago. Not sure what this "RL" stuff is, but I think I need to get me some...
;-)
While under some circumstances I might take over a character, I'm rather hesitant to do so here. I see (kind of) two different ways that Vassago could go and each one (from my point of view) has rather different results. So right now, I'm going to say that Vassago has chosen to hold his action (at least until he tells me otherwise). So we'll move on to Pinna and Elysia.

Pinna |

Let's be more careful this time.
"She is a friend. Something you don't understand, I'm sure."
Aid another fighting defensively.
1d20 + 12 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 12 - 4 = 10 trying to hit AC 10 to aid Elysia to break the grapple (+2 to her check). +2 to AC regardless of whether or not it hits.

Elysia Lyon |

Elysia squirms in the creature's grasp. Since wriggling her way free didn't work she feverishly works out another plan since she didn't really fancy being crushed by a tail as a way to die. She managed to squirm enough to get hold of her wand of Grease and attempted to cast it on herself.
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
And as she quickly became about as slippery as a greased pig, she tried wriggling out of the creature's grasp once again.
This probably goes into the next round since I think it's a standard action to break free of the grapple.

Moff DM |

Ok, to recap a little bit.
Still waiting on Vassago to figure out what he's going to do.
Pinna and Ra's are attempting to free Elysia.
Elysia cast grease on herself to help her get out of the grapple.
Sebastian destroys the last flying worm.
Which brings me to...
The BBEG suddenly looks very focused. Without saying anything he releases Elysia, moves 5', and focuses all his attacks on E.
bite -- 1d20 + 17 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 17 - 2 = 30, if hits 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14.
tentacle -- 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 11 - 2 = 23, if hits 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 and need a Will save.
tentacle -- 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 11 - 2 = 11, if hits 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 and need a Will save.
tail -- 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 11 - 2 = 25, if hits 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 and attempt to start a grapple.
I'll try and post an updated map a little later. For now, the BBEG is in N19-O20.
E. is now grappled and I'll need a Will save.

Lanwin Fairweather wrote:I need to get closer. I think a double move will get me 3 squares to the west. Is there any way I can move further than that? You can attempt an acrobatics check. If you fail the check, you're not frozen -- you can still move.
Acrobatics 1d20 ⇒ 12
15 feet it is.

Moff DM |

Ok, Updated Map.
There really isn't a mechanic for it, but I moved E closer to the BBEG since they are grappled.

While often initiative order matters, at this point in the combat, it pretty well goes "Me" then "You". So if you have an action before the BBG, and you don't think it will affect initiative order much, go ahead and take it. If you think that your action might be initiative dependent, spoiler it.

Sebastian D'Aubergine |

Sebastian sprints towards the huge abberation, geatsword raised. Lightning arcs from it, attaching to the metal of the giant orrey.
"Gods save the right!"
Moving 25' to P21 and attacking.
1d20 + 16 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 16 + 2 = 311d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 11 + 2 = 302d6 + 13 + 1d6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 13 + (6) = 281d6 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 6 + (5) = 17

The part of Ra's-Ug will be played by Moff DM...
;-)
Ra's-Ug will attempt to get the creature to release E by bashing the creature in the head...
He moves five feet and... (PA and FF)
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33 -- if hits, 2d6 + 16 ⇒ (2, 3) + 16 = 21 plus 1d6 ⇒ 4 electricity.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19 -- if hits, 2d6 + 16 ⇒ (5, 5) + 16 = 26 plus 1d6 ⇒ 1 electricity.

1d20 + 14 -- if hits, 2d6 + 16 plus 1d6 electricity.
1d20 + 7 -- if hits, 2d6 + 16 plus 1d6 electricity.
Two solid hits.
The creature laughs...
And... The part of Vassago will also be played by Moff DM...
Vassago is torn between trying to help "5" and assisting the ... um ... halfling. At least with the halfling he might be able to do something to help the halfling escape...
SR Check -- 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Ray of Enfeeblement -- 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 8 + 1 = 25 -- if successful 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 Str penalty.
Failed to get past spell resistance.

"Gods save the right!"

1d20 + 16 + 2;1d20 + 11 + 2;2d6 + 13 + 1d6;1d6 + 6 + 1d6
Two very solid hits from Sebastian and it still doesn't go down.

Moff DM |

BBG
vs. Pinna ...
bite -- 1d20 + 17 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 17 - 2 = 25, if hits 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12.
tentacle -- 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 11 - 2 = 27, if hits 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8and need a Will save.
vs. Elysia ...
tentacle -- 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 11 - 2 = 23, if hits 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 and need a Will save.
vs. E ...
tail -- 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 damage.

Moff DM |

<Without a word>
Grapple check: 1d20 + 4
You're still stuck...
I'm going to guess that Woody is still MIA...
Ra's-ug, after hearing Lanwin's and Elysia's exclamations moves to try and move the gear (provoking an attack of opportunity).
AoO -- bite -- 1d20 + 17 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 17 - 2 = 32, if hits 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11.
Strength Check by Ra's-ug -- 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 1 = 21

Moff DM |

And he pulls it free.
At which point, the BBG essentially ... disolves into a purple and green mess on the floor and quickly evaporates.
The device comes back together -- almost violently -- and begins moving. And you hear a sound kind of like a locomotive starting from a dead stop as the entire plane begins to move again.
"5" slowly comes to as well and moves towards the group looking a bit surprised at your success.
Ra's-ug hands the gear to E -- "I believe you wanted this?"
Elysia -- 1d100 ⇒ 97 -- (You don't own a weapon?)
Elysia, with a crazed look in her eyes -- well, at least more crazed than normal -- attacks Ra's-ug with her fists...
1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 1 = 15
...unsuccessfully and then returns to normal.
I'll give people a couple of rounds to do some things, but then something will be happening fairly soon. So don't think that you'll have total freedom yet...

Pinna |

Pinna limps over to '5' and waves a claw around.
"Are you well? Is this how your machine should be functioning?" She clacks her beak thoughtfully. "Odd that agents of chaos cause stasis, which is as unchaotic as possible." She glances at E. "And that agents of chaos figure out how to fix it."

Moff DM |

"Are you well? Is this how your machine should be functioning?"
He seems to be still trying to find his feet. But he does reply -- "I'm not sure about 'well', but at least I function. It appears to be functioning correctly now. Not sure what you did to make it work though."
She clacks her beak thoughtfully. "Odd that agents of chaos cause stasis, which is as unchaotic as possible." She glances at E. "And that agents of chaos figure out how to fix it."
"The gears do much more than most being realize. Beings are used to having laws in their lives. The law of gravity comes to mind. The gears here help maintain all Law throughout the multiverse. If the gears here stop, then much of the Law throughout the multiverse stops as well."
"How did 'agents of chaos' figure out how to fix the orrery?" He seems rather puzzled at this.
I'm willing to answer questions and discuss things, but I figure you have about 4 rounds before something happens which may cut some conversation short.
