When you say alcoves, do you mean the two large ones on the left of the corridor, or are there smaller ones lining the whole right side?
As I could see one side, but not the other.

When there's a gap, I'd like to get past the remaining mummy, to the space next to Sparkred (one move action, 8 spaces, counting the extra 1 for diagonals round Kyra. Path drawn on for clarity).
I'm aware I'll risk AoO from both the elemental and mummy, but that's OK.

Erwin hopped to the side, still unused to moving significantly faster. "I hope you know what you're doing, Bramble." he said as he exhaled a breath.

Again I forgot haste attacks and bonuses, so I will roll now haste attack and you can add +3 to hit and +2 to damage to previous two attacks.

Erwin's blade was warm to the touch and sparks dissipated in the air as he readied himself for another round with the flame elemental. At the sound of an unfamiliar voice speaking, he risked twisting around momentarily to look behind him at the mummy's vanquished forms before spinning back ahead to see the elemental's vanish. "What was that? Did anyone else hear the names Saruna or Bardru?"

No Osiriani for me, I'm afraid.
I was going to collect as many scrolls together as I could, before they ignited, and worry about their contents later.

If no-one speaks Ancient Osiriani, I could cast comprehend languages from a scroll in my personal gear. But I'd wait to be sure we needed it first.

Kyra walks forward as the battle winds down. There is clearly something going on here that we don't understand. I think we should keep moving, there may yet be more danger ahead.
GM will assume it will be more than 6 min before my next encounter so I'll not only take haste off, but shield of faith as well. AC: is currently reflects no shield of faith spell.


As you look alound you notice that dozens of amethyst fragments are integrated into the mummies’ wrappings, and several fell out over the course of combat. Recovering the rest involves several minutes of searching.
Some still lack perception rolls. And you can aid someone too!

I did a Religion check above (22), to remember what I know about her religion (Thoth?).
But what do I recall of sphinxes? Hmm.

@Kyra You think the creature is genuingly willingly to work peacefully with you.
@Bramble You know that Thot is the old osirian god of law , knowledge, justice and magic.
You also know that sphinxes are abberations who love to give riddles.

As Kyra is parlaying with Saruna she exhales.

"What if you're wrong? Perhaps the sages knew someone might try a flawed jewel and built in a contingency as a trap? Get cursed again: this time instead of imprisonment, could be blindness, 1000 year itch, gnome servants...you know, something diabolical and ironic."


Saruna shrugs at Erwins question.
"We were booth Apprentices to the Amethyst sage."
To Kyras words she replies.
"Yes and no. We would need a special jewel to create the soul gem. And alas there are only two here in this complex. Believe me, we have searched. Bardu and I used to be friends and comrades. But, one gem is inside of me the other inside of him. You have to kill one to make the Sage jewel. And that is why we fight. If you were trapped for so long, you would be desperate, too! I do know how to purify the gem to make the jewel at least!"
