Daniel Arrisen |

Daniel uses his last SMITE EVIL of the day to empower his own attacks.
The devil had wisely moved forward to prevent being surrounded. He remembered how hard it had been to hit Eccardian. This might be his best chance to protect his friends and Aurelio was a better fighter than him anyway.
Imoedae will see you back to hell!
He attacks with everything he has!!
Smite, Blessing of the watch, Power Attack: 1d20 + 23 + 5 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 23 + 5 + 1 - 4 = 45

2 hand Smite, PA: 2d6 + 3 + 7 + 13 + 16 ⇒ (1, 1) + 3 + 7 + 13 + 16 = 41
He feels his sword almost come alive in his hands, the heat from Imoedae's power slicing through the devil as if he were nothing. THIS was exactly the kind of foe he had trained his whole life to battle.
Down and back up, a powerful slice and reversal of the blade leaving massive wounds across the Devils torso.
Goddess destroy you!
Not sure his AC. The first hit confirmed the crit on AC37 for a total 117 damage.
The second strike hit AC39 for another 48.
Confirms on AC31 for another 48.
He may have better AC and HP from class levels and gear but a NORMAL Barbed Devil has AC26 and 138hp. If he is standard then he is dead.

Daniel Arrisen |

so he has taken 165 damage. No worries.
The paladin spits back, So THAT'S what a scared Devil sounds like.
Daniel felt his faith, all the trials he endured, being repaid. He was not afraid and his god would see him put down a terror.
Baldwin, wanna roll for the Barb damage I take?

Aurelio Grulios |

Aurelio staggers from the hit the barbed devil gives him and then straightens back up.

Channel heal: 9d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 4, 3, 5, 3, 4, 4) = 37 to everyone
I am still here. Andrea lets out a short laugh-cry. Is it over? We finally killed all of those bastards?
Andrea looks down at the devil corpse. Vut off it's head and take it outside for their lackeys to see.

Aurelio Grulios |

Barely.
Aurelio takes an his kukri firmly in two hands and chops down, severing the devil's head.
He looks over at Daniel while holding the dripping thing.
I don't suppose you have a pike to go with that sword by chance?

I botched how the fame points were to be handled. I was suppose to have you deduct from your fame points each time I have you roll a check. Basically the player was suppose to make check and use some of their fame point totals.

Snooping around the statue you do not find Chammedy or her lover.
W6. Melavengian’s Chambers: The barbed devil spends much of his time here, waiting patiently (often with a victims - now skinned and deceased - plucked from Westcrown’s unfortunate populace that the devil tormented) for the battle to come.
W7. Ecarrdian’s Chambers: This relatively small chamber has served Ecarrdian as home for many days. A padded bedroll, numerous fine wines and foods, and several well-read classic works of literature (including a
copy of The Six Trials of Larazod) can be found here.
W8. Observation Chamber: Two large barrels of flammable oil sit in this room next to a small silver box containing a dozen tinder twigs—all that Ecarrdian needs to stage his dramatic coup. The opening in the east wall provides a grand view of Westcrown from a point just between the Arodennama’s eyes, although from outside it is obscured by a permanent illusory wall.

Andrea1 |

So where did they go? They entered right before us. Andrea takes a look at the two dead people attached to the walls.
If they arn't here, they might have fled through the Well of Worlds Chammedy had. If so they are out of reach. I say we head out and try to meet with Daniel and Aurelio's families and meet the fleet.

baldwin the merciful |

The weary liberators step outside expecting the battle to be raging on, but to your relief it is clear that the remaining Hellknights under Chards leadership, the dottari and the noble houses have seized the day. There is a moment of relief and reflection before the sound of battle drums echo. Hooves clap and heavy boots thump on the cobblestone. The sunlight reflects off of metal shields and heavy mail. Riding a jet black heavy warhorse is General Vourne.

Aurelio Grulios |

Fair enough, I suppose I can try to talk to him soldier to soldier.
Aurelio will motion to his family and the other nobles to stop looking like guilty children caught filching a cookie and walk up to walk up to the general and stand as parade-ground perfect as he's capable of in his injured state.
He'll drop the devil's head at his feet while giving Vourne a Lastwall-style salute.
General Vourne! I am Aurelio Grulios, of the House of Grulios.

baldwin the merciful |

As Aurelio approaches Paralictor Chard provides a warrior salute to Aurelio.
The General nods at nobleman. "Hello Sir Grulios, I see you've been busy. Tell me about this chaos that you are involved in." He remains unflinching and steadfast as he listens to your recitation of events.
Is anyone else approaching or standing near?

Aurelio Grulios |

Aurelio goes into a summary of the events that his companions have gone through in the past year, as well as his contributions from the last few days.
In short, General, my companions and I have helped the nobility, the Order of the Rack and the dottari spoil the plot of this Council of Thieves to seize the city in the name of Mammon.
He nudges the devil's head with his boot carelessly.
Apparently this Council thought they could steal the city from House Thrune and Asmodeus and then fool you into thinking they had restored order.
Aurelio snorts in derision as if the idea of a bunch of thieves pulling the wool over the eyes of a soldier.

Aurelio Grulios |

Sorry I couldn't summarize more in chat, but I don't think "Went here and butchered traitorous knights, went here and butchered thugs, went there and fought a devil" was all that compelling, and I only got the condensed version of the previous outings.

Andrea1 |

Gerneral Vourne, we met at the Mayor's after the Six-Fold Trial. I am here as a concerned citizen of Westcrown. We have been involved in attempting to stymie the efforts of Eccardian Drovange in his attempt to destablize Westcrown and have it fall under the influence of Mammon. Eccardian used the Council of Thieves to cause the Infernal Engine underneth the Mayor's mansion to explode and assasinated his grandfather, Vassindio Drovange as part of his plans and launched attacks on the property of citizens of Westcrown and then would present himself as a savior when his forces had been 'defeated'. With no doubt many nobles not being present due to kidnappings or being blackmailed, he would be the obious choice to be placed in charge.
As for Eccardian, he is dead.

Daniel Arrisen |

Daniel similarly steps forward, for he could represent himself as a LAWFUL Westcrani, if nothing else.
It is as Sir Grulios has spoken, Eccardian and Chammerday, the tieflings who usurped the old Council of thieves from their Grandfather had not only been conspiring to make Eccardian ruler of Westcrown but due to an infernal contract would have made Eccardian some sort of Conduit for Mammon's power. The full implications of which remain to be discussed by those with greater religious and legal training than I. Suffice to say it would have been in direct opposition to the Rule of Thrune and Asmodeus's influence within the city. Chammerday HAD agreed to aid us in helping put down Eccardian only when presented with evidence that her soul would become one of Mammon's Lemure's. In my opinion she has only partially fulfilled her lawful obligation as it appears she has used the chaos of the battle to slip away. We received no aid beyond her revealing where Eccardian was. If she is found, her limited assistance should be noted at her trial. In any event the New council of thieves is put down and I would offer my assistance to the Dottari and the Hellknights where I may to see Westcrown's regular law enforcement back in charge.
There is no rebellion here. Merely a power grab at Thrune's table by an organization who sought a violent growth beyond their accepted sphere of influence.

baldwin the merciful |

aurelio your response was fine and you've only been group for the last few days (the last book).
The General looks through Andrea with a steely gaze. "You say Eccardian Drovange is dead, where is his body?
When Daniel begins to speak the General's eyes narrow in skepticism. Clearly distrustful of the open holy symbol and his comment of legal training.
"Very well, I need to confer with his captains. You should gather
your supporters over the next few hours and meet me on the deck of Asmodenaut, in three hours." He makes sure he has everyone's attention. "Let me be clear,I will be deciding what is to be done with Westcrown." His authority is apparent. "Unless the city can convince m otherwise, I will be instituting martial law."

Daniel Arrisen |

The paladin offers a salute.
He turns to Andrea and the others as they are given time to speak.
We will need an excellent lawyer and all the noteworthy supporters who could sway opinion. Hellknight commanders, Dottarri, Nobles and any Asmodean 'friends' we may have. Any clearly in the Favor of Thrune who would support us would have greatest influence.
I am off to bed

Indeed, We can go find the lawyer Luci Fer Noguilt and request her services. We have also several Dottari we can ask to join us such as Maurice and Lieutenant Whatley Pinkerton. We can also have the Grulios,Missepes and Tilneros to contact.
Pressed for time for a few hours, but Andrea will run to contact Luci Fer.
edit:Eccardian, when he was slain was reclaimed by Mammon. His fate now is no doubt up for theologians to debate

Gerard bows respectfully. I am certain Paralictor Chard, can provide details on how we... came to be useful in maintaining the integrity of Hellknights proper against heretic forces.
Eccardian unwittingly brought chaos unto the city. But, in going about his business he also eliminated other competing agents of chaos, enemies of House Thrune and the exalted and sovereign Lord Asm... Well, you know his name. I will not sully it with beggar's lips.
By your leave.
Gerard bows and steps back from the General. His eyes scanning the Hellknights to see if he can catch a glimpse of his own sister.
Last he'd known she was under deep cover as a Hellknight, he had assumed with House Thrune. It was safer for them both, that he could not be certain.
