RD 4: Crone Ogre mage
The ogre rages on against Daniel from the prone position,
att 1, prone: 1d20 + 18 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 18 - 4 = 23;damage: 3d6 + 15 ⇒ (2, 6, 5) + 15 = 28
att 2, prone: 1d20 + 18 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 18 - 4 = 30;damage: 3d6 + 15 ⇒ (5, 1, 6) + 15 = 27
The second slash hits the orc, tearing into his flesh.

Andrea steps into Daniel's square and then into the one to the south of him(SE of the room the ogre is in) and slashes down at the crone.
+2 Long Sword: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 141d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
And thus we see why Andrea shouldn't get into combat

27hp damage -19 temp hp= 8 Damage. Baldwin, prone is a -4 to her AC please.
The paladin, is appreciative of Andrea and Em's healing magics, but would not back off from the Ogress when he had just gained advantage. She had FINALLY missed because she was prone!
Praise Imoedae! Goddess! Her wounds! Why are they healing?
Knowledge:Arcana to id monster: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

27 hits vs her prone AC, right?. 0400 here. Tired. Takes 66 damage from my attack. More if she stands.
Andrea, her wounds are closing!
Daniel Arrisen |
What knowledge? Also, Euphemia might have to chance things for a look at her...
"Yes! Hit her harder!"
Lol

You slide behind Daniel to get a look at the crone thinking Andrea took the attack but old crone is surprising quick,

DMPC - Orsin: RD 4
The charismatic bard's lungs are filled with a battle tune when he moves inot the room to join the battle (-B,4) and he also envokes her quick battle wrath,
att 1, prone: 1d20 + 18 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 18 - 4 = 25;damage: 3d6 + 15 ⇒ (5, 3, 3) + 15 = 26

He hits the giantes with his mighty blow.
Daniel Arrisen |
Daniel identifies the creature as an Oni, Mage Ogre. A shapeshifting outsider that has the regeneration ability. A creature with innate magical abilities. Then his blade hits home and giantess slumps on the ground. Her large sword dangling from her grasp.
Crap. I am wielding an EVIL OUTSIDER BANE Longsword. I don't know if you were taking that into account or not. Every attack would have been +2 higher and damage +2 and 2d6. Sword works regardless if I knew what it was or not.
The paladin keeps up his assault on the Oni.
Not sure if you mean she is dropped already
Knowing what it is, the the paladin’s efforts are doubled. He was going to cut her head off!!
BANE, RV, Inspired, SMITE VS Prone AC: 1d20 + 18 + 4 + 2 + 4 - 3 ⇒ (6) + 18 + 4 + 2 + 4 - 3 = 31
DAMAGE: 1d20 + 3 + 6 + 2d6 + 2 + 10 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 6 + (4, 1) + 2 + 10 + 9 = 43
BANE, RV, Inspired, SMITE VS Prone AC: 1d20 + 13 + 4 + 2 + 4 - 3 ⇒ (2) + 13 + 4 + 2 + 4 - 3 = 22
DAMAGE: 1d20 + 3 + 6 + 2d6 + 2 + 10 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 6 + (6, 2) + 2 + 10 + 9 = 57
The paladin’s sword comes alive in his hands, whether from him realizing this creature was an example of all that he was trained to destroy or not remained to be seen.
100 Damage! Also Baldwin, the FIRST Attack vs her does 20 points bonus smite damage instead of ten.
Temp HP from RV: 2d8 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8

His evil outsider sword will make sure she is dead dead. I didn't know you had an evil outsider sword for extra damage.
There are no secret or concealed doors within the room. As far as her possessions go, her sword radiates a moderate aura of evocation, her ring has feint to moderate aura of of abjuration, and her chain shirt under her gown has feint aura of abjuration.
Euphemia di Nereis |
Checks to identify:
1d20 + 18 ⇒ (5) + 18 = 23Sword
1d20 + 18 ⇒ (3) + 18 = 21Ring
1d20 + 18 ⇒ (9) + 18 = 27Chain Shirt
Assured that no one has died horribly who didn't deserve it, Euphemia goes through the motions of identifying all the new treasure.

Spellcraft Ring: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31
Spellcraft Chain shirt: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25
Let us check the rest of the rooms here, I believe there was a cabinet in one of the rooms.
Andre atakes out some potions. Daniel, Orsin, do you need healing?
Daniel Arrisen |
Daniel lowers his blade. Puffing and covered in blood from the fight, he no longer looked like the 'shining knight'
Special Weapons? My sword was exactly what was required.
He takes a knee to thank Imoedae and starts healing up with his wand.
Daniel Arrisen |
CLW+Fey Foundling: 1d8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 2 = 7CLW+Fey Foundling: 1d8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 2 = 6CLW+Fey Foundling: 1d8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 2 = 4
Ashe finishes healing himself and offers the wand around. He kneels while any searching goes on to pray.
Imoedae, my strength. We have prevailed against this foe but we are not done by far. I call upon your grace to grant me more healing, for I feel I will need to spill more blood this. Bless and us. Know that we fight for right and for each other and this brotherhood will have victory.
Daniel is using his divine bond to get 4 extra LOH today.
Andrea1 |
A cursed blade this is, fit for those who wish to lose themselves in bloodlust.
Edit:Let us check the room with the cabinet in it, there might be something of worth there. Gerard, would you please use your skills to make sure this creature did not leave anything behind to harm us?
I feel we can still continue on as long as others feel the same way. We can finish searching this section of Walcourt and then continue searching the main building.
Andrea1 |
Trying not to panic, Andrea tries to determine what kind of floor is under her foot, or if there are any particular smells. She then tries picturing the room with the cabinet in her mind and willing herself there, wondering if she is in some kind of magical space like that Handy haversack.
baldwin the merciful |
You don't hear anything including you voice. You can touch what feels like wood planking. You can make a knowledge arcana check and spellcraft check.
You can smell the perspiration coming from your body, and the damp bacterial filled garments you have due to your hard day at work.
Daniel Arrisen |
For the first time, a genuine look of panic crosses Daniel's face.
Em, detect magic on this. We need to know if it is a trap or just some magic door to..somewhere. Even if it is a door and not a trap considering the type of object it is in a thieves den, I would guess a transport to get this rooms occupant to a place of Safety. For them. Heaven’s help me, a place of retreat for one of these thieves would be just as good as a trap for Andrea. Were it just I, I would follow but if we all go we may well find ourselves surrounded in an impossible situation. Goddess, guide me but if we lose the Initiative here, we all die and we achieve nothing.
The paladin closes his eyes as if making a very hard decision....
I have to fight for the greatest good.
Em, unless you can tell me otherwise my Military training says to stay the course.
Our best chance of saving Andrea could well be to capture someone with knowledge of this or get to Illnerik. He would likely keep her alive as a bargaining chip, an ace to hold against us. Gerard. ..I need your help. My code says I cannot leave an ally to die, but to follow could kill you all and my duty is to all of you and to destroy Illnerik. If I go alone, no disrespect, but I don't think your chances are good.
Daniel Arrisen |
None? Gerard are you thinking a false bottom or trapdoor maybe? I can probe with my hammer perhaps? Let's be sure she is or is not here before we move.
The paladin reaches around for his hammer and wonders where Azreal is....

Perception: 1d29 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
If this place was a bolt hole where one could escape from, it would be one thing, but why darkness and silence? Andrea keeps pacing. Dark, yes that is not unexpected but a strong spell and magical silence? Perfect for a prison.
