While you asre deciding that...
Dravite leads the party through the woods. The terrain is steep and rocky, but he follows the trails left by the ogres and they are easy to track. After a few hours of tough hiking, the trees begin to thin out. The top of Hook Mountain is bleak and rocky, with scree slopes populated by surly-looking mountain sheep that flee as they are approached. But in the bright sunshine there is no denying the view over the Storval Deep and Skull's Crossing are impressive. The scale of the Deep also becomes apparent as it stretches up to the horizon, framed by jagged mountains on either side and its furthest reaches invisible in the distant haze.
But even on a day like this, the wind is cold and unrelenting. Dravite points up towards the peak, where a miasma of black smoke blows on the wind. "The entrance to the cave is aboot half-a-mile, just atop this crag and across open views along a ridge before ye get to the cave mouth. How d'ye want to be doing this?"
Dravite stats to come.

You have been provided with a couple of mules - please let me know what mundane supplies you want, like food, rope, cuddly toys and so on. Someone should record that. They are basically supplied gratis - O, the joy of being a public servant - but this is also an out-of-the-way place so nothing too exotic will be available (I'll decide on a case-by-case basis).
Two things:
* For mundane items, I think a couple of climbing kits would be useful, plus a shitload of rope. It looks like we'll be going up and down bad paths and mountainsides, so those will come in handy.* The one magical thing I can think of that we need is away to turn invisible. Sneaking into a guarded fortress will be tough enough without being spotted miles away.

I don't have invisibility in my spellbook. I have greater invisibility, but it doesn't last nearly as long, so I don't think it's going to be useful for stealth. In a nutshell, I need to improve my available spells quite a bit.

OK, probably a couple of week's food would be a better idea plus a couple of waterskins each, and a couple of weeks' fodder for the two mules. You can grab some saddlebags for the mules too, plus torches, lanterns for everyone, flasks of oil, fire starting kits, some firewood (them mountains are a bit bleak) and a hatchet or machete for chopping more, blankets and sleeping rolls each, 100' of rope each, backpacks for those than don't have them already, spare boots for each of you, tents, a tarpaulin, a crowbar (you never know), climbing kits for everyone, winter clothes for everyone. Most of this could probably be handled with magic but it's probably better to preserve your resources if you can.
First thorny problem: do you want a mule-tender? None of you are exactly skilled in Handle Animal and mules can be, well, muleish. You might have to negotiate some tricky terrain with them.
And second, Dravite's question is still hanging.

Link to Dravite's stats. We'll just use what Fakey had in his character sheet.

"Take Camlo with you and scout ahead. This being a cave, I assume we'll need to go in the main entrance? It sounds like it will be next to impossible to actually enter the cave unobserved, but with some good recon, at least we won't be ambushed."
Sefayll, do you have Fog cloud or something similar available?

"Aye." Dravite turns to Camlo. "You coming, wee chappie?"
Stealth checks for Dravite and Camlo, please.
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed
Camlo and Dravite head toward upwards onto the ridge. The wind blows fiercely as they hug the ground, following contours and gullies to try and remain unseen. Smoke pours from a gaping hole in the side of Hook mountain, only to be instantly dispersed by the wind.
Perception checks by the ogres:
A pair of ogres emerge from the cave mouth, ogre hooks in hand. One of them points a meaty paw in the direction of where Camlo and Dravite are hiding, and begin to hurry along the ridge towards them.
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed
"Lose them? Where? There's only this here ridge, wee laddy, so unless we're going climbing I dinnae see where we can go. It's forward or back. I say we go back - there's only two of the fat bastards. Typical ogres - too stupid to call for help. They should be easy for us to deal with once we have the others there."
As for what the others can see, you are in concealment below the ridge but if you make a Stealth check you can sneak a look at what's going on.

I got no skilz in that department;.....

Perception to hear the pitter-patter of incoming feet 12+14=26.
"Sounds like our scouts are coming back - and they are bringing some friends with them. Let's prepare a proper welcome." Alwyn draws his sword and starts looking for a good place to hide.
Do we have any decent spots for an ambush?
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed
Camlo and Dravite return to the rest of the group, explaining that the two ogres are on their way.
Effectively, the ogres need to get to the end of the ridge and look down to see you, so they can't see you right now. I'll stick up a [url=https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0As46nz4EkrGKdDV3dWlsc09US1duQjYxbHNSSEpJQXc#gid=0map[/url].
[ooc]The palest grey is relatively flat terrain. Moving on this is like walking on normal terrain. The medium grey colour is difficult terrain due to the slope. The dark grey is pretty sheer, and requires a DC 10 Climb check to negotiate. Fall while on this section, it's a quite a long way down.
The ogres are approaching from the north. As mentioned above, they need more or less to get to about row 25 to look down and see anyone on the slope below. You are all positioned south of this row. Please place yourselves and roll initiative.
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed
The ogres eventually crest the rise, peering down at the group of "little folk" before them. They whoop with delight as they brandish their hooks and prepare to set about them.
Ogre 1 1d20 ⇒ 5
Ogre 2 1d20 ⇒ 9
Camlo 20
Hudak 13
Alwyn 12
Ogre 2 9
Ogre 1 5
Dravite ?
Sefayll ?
Camlo has got a surprise round, then the rest of you just go with initiative.
Camlo Zenovia
Assuming Camlo would have had time to prepare, would he be able to get a crossbow shot off in the surprise round? If not, then he'll load the crossbow and stay hunkered down.
Atk: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22 dmg: 1d3 + 2 + 5d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 2 + (5, 6, 2, 4, 1) + 5 = 26 last 5 is bleeding
Stealth: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (15) + 24 = 39
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed
Yes, that's sort of the point of the surprise round. However, your Stealth is a bit redundant as there isn't really anywhere for you to hide now that they have crested the rise. And, um, you are standing quite close...
I'll assume you are shooting the nearest ogre.
The bolt may be small but Camlo's shot sends crimson blood spurting. The ogre is too stupid to realise it is probably bleeding to death, and just snarls in anger and pain.
OK, on to the start of the full round. Sefayll, then Camlo again.
Sefayll Valerian
Sefayll considers her meager resources and loads her crossbow and fires.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7
Camlo Zenovia
Put the stealth in there just in case ;)
MA: Reload
Standard Action: Shoot the same ogre again
Atk: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31 dmg: 1d3 + 2 + 5d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 2 + (3, 2, 5, 4, 1) + 5 = 23 last 5 is bleeding
Then work out how to get out of their way next turn.....
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed
Bleeding copiously, the nearest ogre staggers forward and swings its hook in a single sweep at Hudak and Camlo.
Attack using Power Attack and Cleave, first on Hudak and then on Camlo.
Attack on Hudak: 1d20 + 16 - 3 ⇒ (3) + 16 - 3 = 16 to hit, damage 3d6 + 14 + 9 ⇒ (2, 1, 3) + 14 + 9 = 29
If that hits, attack on Camlo: 1d20 + 16 - 3 ⇒ (10) + 16 - 3 = 23 to hit, damage 3d6 + 14 + 9 ⇒ (6, 4, 1) + 14 + 9 = 34
EDIT: lucky buggers.
Dravite.
