Just to let you know, I'll be on holiday from Saturday for a week (yes, another holiday - but the last for a while). There is a teeny chance I'll be able to update in that time, but it really is teeny.

I've got mono and several different flus floating around my work -- but since I work with germy teenagers, that's to be expected.

I've been able to keep away from it so far, but I know my luck will run out soon enough.

The adventurers move cautiously along the narrower passage. It looks like it was some ancient side street. Empty doorways gape in the darkness on either side from abandoned dwarven homes and shops. And it is getting chilly again, with breath beginning to frost in the air.

Gart could do another combat if it werent a huge one. but i have no idea how difficult this one would be. and there is the issue of Gart's healing ability giving a bonus to other people's uses of surges, which you all may not even have uses of.

Wont be on for a bit, having my birthday dinner with some friends and likely to be fairly tired, if not hung over, for a portion of tomorrow.

How is everyone faring in the super-low temperatures in the US?

So far my van's battery has been drained twice now, and it's only 6 months old. I've had everything checked out and it's just the cold sapping it. Where I work we have to maintain temperatures between a certain range, and had to deal with an 80 piece order that they didn't have on pallets, so that was fun trying to have a door open and load it all in before temperatures dropped. Back home they had a pipe freeze and burst, and apparently their homeowners insurance only covers the main pipe, not the one that busted. Driving anywhere is terrible with the iced over roads.

So all in all, not too bad. Work was shut down for one day which gave me a chance to get caught up on quite a few things at home I've been putting off, so I'm focusing on that part of it.

I'm right in the middle of it.
It's CRAZY-Cold.
I'm used to my beard freezing when I'm outside -> normal cold weather.
But when your lungs hurt because it's so cold, that's REALLY cold.

We use a chemical and natural salt to de-ice the roads in my state. And it is so cold, that it is useless. So all the roads are just sheets of ice and there is nothing that can be done about it -- you just stay at home or drive MEGA-slow.

Thankfully, we have power and the roof has not caved in from all the snow/ice. I have heard horror stories of people losing power and/or their roofs in our area.

The other crazy thing, by this weekend it is going to be 40-degrees warmer - in just the span of a few days!

We are "just" having floods here. My house hasn't been affected but it took me four hours to get home last night from work because the railway line was flooded (hence I didn't update the games last night). I got got home, ate my tea, went to bed, got up, came to work. Yay work-life balance!

I guess about 5000 people were without power Monday in my town, but fortunately I wasn't affected by it. Gotta love the temperature fluctuations. Don't like the weather today, wait until tomorrow.

It was 17 on Monday; that's the worst. It'll be up to 70 on Sunday.

We had cold, but not really storm. It was 0 on Tues morn (I'm working nights now so getting out of work at 6 am), not counting windchill, but we are lucky enough to not have any of the humidity that's making it worse for others. So it's really cold but there's no ice where I'm at.

at the risk of my character being slaughtered at the hands of a bloodthirsty party, i live in Hawaii, so cold for us is 65 degrees.

not having winter makes you really want to go somewhere with snow. but this year seems like a good year to have not had that opportunity.

My home computer blew up last night, not sure if it'll be fixed in a hurry, or if I need a new one, or what. Posting might be a bit disrupted.

On my troubles with the computer, the guy couldn't get the machine to play up and couldn't find anything wrong with it. I've got it back now and it's working perfectly. But I am now ever-watchful for betrayal by my silicon nemesis.

Letting everyone know my boss is in town this week (surprise, surprise!) and it looks like I'll be working some pretty long days all week. I'll try to get posts in when I can, but will be tough. I apologize for the short notice I also suffered from. Please bot me in combat.
