I've just noticed that Aleph has wandered into the area of effect of Marc's Lightning Breath. Now, I could ask Marc if he really wants to go ahead, but since he is vacant enough not to level up, he's vacant enough to blast a colleague.
Valid point! :) And thanks for the reminder! Marc is now (Officially) lvl 2! Current state, 11HP left, bloodied
Is it too late to use an immediate interrupt? Dragonflame mantle, trigger= Getting hit, effect, surrounded by flame, any melee attacker that hits me takes an additional 1d6 fire dmg (I'm fuzzy on whether it damages the attacker that JUST hit you to trigger it?)

Terra blows into her hands and hurls a fire seed at square 07.
fire erupts in squares 06 08 and p6-8 so that ogre will start it's turn in 2 burning square and moving up will make it go into 3 others.. 5 dmg if it starts its turn in a fire square, or moves into one
I'm sorry, I can't work out which squares you mean.

No... But it's not on your character sheet.

Whaaa? Just a second, rassin' frassin' BBC code,...
AH! Found it. I had it on there, but it was accidentally hidden under Daily powers. All fixed now. :)
I was about to get cranky, because I had to update the silly thing 3 times last night before it finally saved my changes! ;P

An Immediate Interrupt happens just before the triggering action. In this instance, you still get hit, but the ogre takes the damage. An Immediate Reaction happens immediately after the triggering action. These are the two types of Immediate action in the book, and you can have only one Immediate action per round.
Fire blossoms in the tight space of the cave, as Marc ignites and Terra sets the ogre in a ring of fire.
Initiative and conditions updated:
Hasren 16
Aleph 14+
Terra 13+
Heimoth 13-
Sefra 9
Ogre 4+
Mark 4- (any melee hits will push attacker back 1 square and cause 5 damage, plus another 1d6 fire damage)
Sefra.
Sefra
Move to p8
Five storms and flurry of blows if hit against Ogre
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18 vs ref, 1d8 + 6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 5 = 13 and gain resistance to all of that target’s attacks equal to 3 enhancement bonus until the
end of your next turn.
Sefra jumps into the fray and tosses a kick over Hasren's head.
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed
OK, the ogre's grouchy now. He's going to try and grab Heimoth as his opening salvo.
Minor action: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 v Reflex, damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Yes, I think that'll do. Second, he'll blow his encounter biggie, Ankle Sweep, where he uses Heimoth as a weapon (of the bludgeoning sort). This is a Close Burst 2. Heimoth takes the damage automatically if the ogre hits someone, half on a total miss, so he's rolling to hit Hasren and Sefra.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 v Reflex on Hasren
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 v Reflex on Sefra
3d10 + 7 ⇒ (10, 2, 10) + 7 = 29 damage on a hit.
OK, two misses. ;-( 14 damage to Heimoth.
So he'll fire off his action point and try and hit Hasren with Heimoth again. On a hit, both Hasren and Heimoth take damage.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 v AC on Hasren, 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (5, 1) + 8 = 14 damage on a hit to both Heimoth and Hasren.
The ogre grabs Heimoth and proceeds to swing him about like a club. However, a paladin of Gorum in full armour is an awkward weapon, and the ogre only inflicts minor damage.
Marc.

"Heimoth! Put down my associate you overgrown schoolyard bully! Or I shall be forced to unleash the full power of the dragon-blooded upon you!"
Marc cries, Completely ignoring or oblivious to the fact that he has already spent his two biggest 'dragon-powers' for the day! ;P
Marc waves his glowing dagger in a mystic pattern and exhales, sending a thin blast of chilled air at the large brute.
Frostbind;
Encounter, Arcane, Cold, Implement
Standard Action, Ranged 10
Target: One Creature
Att: Cha vs Fort (+6)
Hit: 3d6+Cha Mod(+4) cold dmg [DM: 3d6+7] and target takes -2 penalty to reflex until the end of your next turn.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 73d6 + 7 ⇒ (1, 5, 2) + 7 = 15
But his aim is off, and the blast of air strikes the ceiling, forming a frosty patch on the cave above the ogre's head.
"Well,... Dragon-Dung!" Marc curses nastily.
Marc Wyvernspur
Raggy, your To Hit bonus is seriously off. Marc's CHA is 18 (+4 by itself), you are 2nd level (+1) and you have a +1 magic dagger (+1) for +6. It makes no different here, but it might be useful to know for future.
Wow. I know my PC builder is out of date, (I'm still using the last downloadable builder before they went to all online only.) but it should have caught that! I'll have to revisit that build and see if I can get it to fix it properly. Thanks! :)

How does the 'grabbed' condition affect me? Can I still attack the ogre (with some penalties), or do I need to break the hold? Can it attack any other PCs while holding me?
Hasren!
Effectively, you can't move away from it. That's about it. You can try and break the hold as a standard action.
And yes - Hasren!
Hasren Gunnarrsson
Really sorry about this, I check from work often & hardly at all on weekends/holidays. I gotta break that pattern. (THe not checking part of that in case that wasn't obvious.)
Before I start, I want to remind people that THIS ogre has Hasren's Stirring Shout effect on him which means whenever an ally of Hasren's hits the ogre, they regain 3 HPs. So Heimoth regained 3 HP when he hit the ogre with his Paladin's Judgement. Same with Sefra if she was hurt & if she hit.
Hasren figures the ogre's already off balance whipping Heimoth around, so it should be pretty easy to make the ogre a ripe target for the others. He stabs at the ogre's foot hoping to make it stumble.
Guiding Strike to-hit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 vs AC.
On Hit: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 damage and the ogre takes a -2 penalty to his Reflex defense
Also, who bloodied the ogre? Due to Hasren's Virtue of Valor, they gain 4 temp HP and a +2 to their next damage roll until the end of their next turn.
I still have a move & a minor action left, but I think we more or less still have things reasonably well in hand. I could provide the party with a bonus to hit as a minor, but that's a daily power. Do we think the +1 bonus to hit is needed? The ogre doesn't seem particularly hard to hit as long as we don't roll poorly.
Lastly, I believe Escaping a grab is a move action using Acrobatics vs Reflex defense or Athletics vs Fortitude defense to break the grab & shift away 1 square (except we're in rough terrain which negates a 1 square shift, unless Heimoth has some special movement in rough terrain)

Aleph moves to P-9, calling the ogre a m@!&%! f!!#@+,
and blast a vampiric embrace on the ogre;
1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 2 = 15 vs. will,
damage 2d8 + 3 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (8, 6) + 3 + 1 + (1) = 19 and I get 8 temp hit points if it hits.
"I drink from your heart, buffoon!!!"

And regain 3 HP due to stirring shout! (Assuming you're still hurt, if not, don't mind me.

Assume you level - it's fun, after all!
With some difficulty, the corpses of the ogres are dragged out and left to tumble down the hill into the swollen river. Inside, the cave is warn and relatively dry, if still quite musty from the presence of two unwashed ogres. They were clearly something of a menace, as the cave is littered with the remains of several humanoids as well as other larger prey. But what is one man's loss is another man's gain - for it also means the ogres have acquired a fairly significant pile of loot.
OK: you can identify these at your leisure, so I'll just tell you what the items are:
a Flute of the Dancing Satyr (PHB2, p210)
a lvl 5 Bashing Shield (Heavy) (PHB p244)
a lvl 3 Wand of Witchfire +1 (PHB p244)
a lvl 4 Staff of Winter +1 (PHB p242)
a lvl 2 Belt of Vigour +1 (PHB p253)
a lvl 2 set of Fireburst Armour +1 (Cloth) (PHB p230)
There's also 1,040gp-worth of currency scattered about too.
Marc Wyvernspur
MArc takes the cloth armor and tries it on. He grins.
"DOn't be jealous just because I make this look good. It's a gift." He grins, slicking back his long hair.
Heh. The one drawback Marc has is that his better powers all have effects that require him to get pounded on to work! Or at least get into melee range to use. ;P
