The building the group approaches was a residential complex at some point when the population was much bigger. At one point it must have reared up 50 stories or more, but earthquakes and age seem to have trimmed it down to about 30. There is an entrance, a gaping hole where a large lobby door once stood. The lower area is chocked in vines and plantgrowth and there is wreckage scattered all about.

"Vines, wreckage, skeleton of an ancient tower."

<Deadpan expression.>

"Check, check, check."

Male Human Tough hero 3/ Thrasher 2

Roach nods at Coca-Cola, grinning. "Let's take a look. After all, the only thing we have to lose is our lives."

Sneak listen sneak search sneak spot sneak.....rinse repeat.

Germain sticks with the group, preferably next to a larger, meatier companion. One a robot would assess as the larger threat. One a monster might deem as tasty. The colonel and Coca Cola (with his big gun) seemed to fit that bill. With any luck the male might think Germain was actually scared. That she was looking to him for protection. There was no reason not to exploit the male ego.

"Is it ok if I ride next to you?" She asks, a hint of fear in her voice.

Bluff (1d20 15=19)

Sherman begins a whispered conversation with Marley, as he scans the area for any other dangers, "Yes i-dren, I dink dis will be a fight, the i take cover when de cuss-cuss starts." After a pause as he apparently listens to an answer he continues, "I haffild the i before, the i cyaan clap a barn at ten paces."

Are you going into the lobby Chiro? If so, Spot/Listen/Move Silently

The main lobby of the building is silent, and still seems to be in one piece. A thick carpet of dust and fallen ceiling tiles coats the floor. In the distance is a bank of what look to be elevators. There is a desk area enclosed behind a thick plastic shielding

Chiro will quietly skulk into the lobby, using his big eyes to best effect to search the shadows. If he can't spot anything he will switch to echolocation, not that he thinks that will go unnoticed by live metal.

Spot +10;1d20+10=26Listen +8;1d20+8=11 Search +9;1d20+9=24 and Move Silently +10;1d20+10=12

Chiro enters the dark lobby. It is actually somewhat of a relief after the hot sun outside. The area looks empty, but there are several groups of tracks in the fine dust that has collected on the floor. The only thing living in the room is a few vines that have send root runners into the darkness. The only opening is the entranceway, all the windows in the lobby are shuttered. The large room is quiet, and echolocation doesn't really bring up anything else new.

Bluff (1d20 15=19)

Sense Motive: 1d20+8=21

More deadpan: "Miss your mommy, kid?"

By the way, The Colonel is huge for a chicken but still smaller than a horse. Coca often walks alongside her and mounts up only when speed is required. He keeps Nixon slung over her.

<Watches Chiro's back. Follows him in.>

Listen: 1d20+8=25, Spot: 1d20+9=11

Move Silently: 1d20+9=20

Chiro will advance and check out the desk behind the plastic, then the elevator shafts. Checking to make sure his compatriots have his back.

Wait a sec shouldn't that only be a +4 bonus? Not that bluff and sense motive checks should be the norm between PCs, but I'm hopping that Germain can continue to appear cute and innocent for a while longer yet. Besides if she can get closer to Coca Cola she might come to like him and be less willing to think of him as simply a means to an end.

Yet still very tasty looking :P
Coca Cola wrote:

hmmm, maybe not a robot's first target then, until he readies that weapon of his.

"Na, my mommy wore dresses," Germain says flashing an innocent smile, "and she couldn't use guns so she wouldn't be any good in a fight. She knows an awful lot about medicine though so if someone gets hurt she I sure would have liked to have her here, but this is kinda dangerous and seeing as you have the biggest gun you must be the best fighter right? So I'd like to stick next to you."

"The braa is compensatin' for somethin'" quips Sherman, before glancing nervously at his own 4 guns and wondering what Sigmund Freud would make of that.

You got me. Don't know what happened there.

"Miss your mommy, kid?" Coca replies, a little unnerved by the little sister alarm Germain sets off.

"You better suck it up cuz Big Dump's no playground."

Appears as and is a functional Female Synthetic Smart Hero / 3; Technomage 2

Eva will start scanning the area as well, she uses her vapor scanner to see if any toxins are in the air, she also starts to ping off her radar, and switches to dark vision...

Male Human Tough hero 3/ Thrasher 2

As the scouts go through their sensor suites, Roach makes sure that nothing's sneaking up on the mounts.

E.V.A:

Spoiler:
E.V.A. detects faint traces of machime lubricant in the air, not in any large concentration, but enough to posit that there are active machines about

Still wicked mega sick folks, bear with me ;)

Cold + backpain = God is a sadist

I prefer to think of God as a DM who didn't get a pizza when the players came over to his house ... which pretty much boils down to the same thing ..

Chiro wrote:

Chiro stalks into the plastic-sheilded desk. The room is quiet, and the desk sits sealed behind the plastic. There is a closed door leading to the back area. There seem to be several other dust-shrouded pieces of furniture behind the barrier. Chiro doesn't note anything moving

"So . . . candy's good right? I love candy."

Germain hates long silences ;)

Chiro advances and tries to open the door.

Chiro wrote:

The door is locked, but Chiro feels that it has weakened with age. It could be knocked down with a little effort.

Glances back at Cola;

"You open it, there might be something dangerous or booby trapped or something."

*grins*

Then opens the door forcibly.

Strength 14, do you need a check?

Nah, it's good

The ancient door splinters with a loud *crack* that echoes in the lobby. The sealed room lies open to inspection. There is the desk, several filing cabinets, and ancient mechanical device with a screen on the desk, several dusty chairs and a sofa. There is also a large screen on the wall.

Male Human Tough hero 3/ Thrasher 2

Still no sign of small robots?

<Coca enters CAUTIOUSLY.>

Search: 1d20+8=9, Spot: 1d20+9=28

Take 20 to search if I don't find anything lethal after entering the room.

Roach wrote:

Give it time

"Cover de I Marley," Sherman addresses the plant, instructing her to keep watch while he follows the others into the room, four guns sweeping the area for trouble.

Coca enters the dust-covered room, his footfalls raising choking clouds. There are a lot of cobwebs and such, and the ceiling is covered in decades of webs. There are stains on the walls and floor of an indeterminate nature.

In the desk are yellowed papers and a few hand-held electronic items, batteries long dead.

In the filing cabinets, more yellowed papers, and a stash of picutres of Pure Strain females in various states of undress.

As Coca searches he hears a scuttling sound

OK, will post a map soon. Roll a group initiative?

1d20=17

that's a 17, and Germain has a +3

Male Human Tough hero 3/ Thrasher 2

"Cockroaches?" Roach nods at Germain. "Perhaps they've come for your candy?"

"Those are some awful big roaches," Germain says looking around, "sounds like they've had enough candy."

<Coca, casting his eyes through the darkvision limned shades of darkness, readies Agnew for a little public speaking.>

Init 17+3=20

Chiro will ready his AK-47 as backup.

Initiative +4 for me, 17+4=21

Initiative, come on ye fickle gods of dice.... (1d20+3=9)

Well that was a a great big up yours from the god of dice!

Luckily for you, we use group initiative; thus, you get 17+3=20. A bit better. ;D

Roach's initivative is 17+2=19.

Initiative:
22 E.V.A
21 Chiro
20 Coca Cola
20 Sherman Tank
20 Germain
19 Billy Ray
18 Roach
15 Spider Goats

A hissing sound attracts your attention to the webbed ceiling. A group of about a dozen fluffy white-furred eight-legged creatures with eight goat-pupilled eyes and curly horns hang upsidedown. Their mouths sport wicked looking pincers dripping a clear ooze. They begin to shoot balls of sticky silk at you.

Apologies, my mapping stuff is going a bit wanky, but I'll get a map up soon. They are 12 feet above your head shooting sticky web balls at you. Of course, you all go first.

"AAAaahhh!" Germain screams, "Spidergoats!"

Was little old Germain the one who gave you idea for the web slinging horror known as Spidergoats?

Yes, I thought it was a funny creature ...but GAH! They actually HAVE transgenic spider goats??? WAUGH!

Mutant Monkey wrote:

Yep this is a true modern horror.

"By Gaea!" Germain curses, "Why is it always spidergoats!"

<Agnew speaks.>

1d20+7=26, 2d6=9

Male Human Tough hero 3/ Thrasher 2

Roach starts humming as he sprays the mutant monsters with AK bullets.

Spider goat,
spider goat,
does whatever a spidergoat does...

*BOOOM!*

Attack roll 13+4=AC 17, damage 12.

"Dinner!" Sherman yells in a loud voice before he starts letting fire with all four guns, shots flying randomly roof-ward at a few different goats.

4 pistol attacks, yeehaa! (1d20+5=22, 2d6=3)
4 pistol attacks, yeehaa! (1d20+5=22, 2d6=10, 1d20+5=7, 2d6=11, 1d20+5=25, 2d6=10)

Critical confirmation on the 20 (1d20+5=6, 2d6=6)

So I messed up and did one attack followed by 3 attacks, then a critical attack missed.

>>MAP<<
