Male Goblin Vivisectionist Trap Breaker 10

The difference between a Martial losing his second attack for no reason feels bad and is impactful enough to cause a waste of resources, but Cyrus can just hold the idiotball for me. If he dies later tonight, it just means I can try the Cleric I've been tooling around with. Thank you for clarifying when turns end and when people can finish action economy.

Another Step Beyond: Campaign Rules & Guidelines - Notable NPCs & Locations

Unlikely that he'll die... Still, I did take the attack in consideration.

I just really dislike splitting rolls in particular among multiple posts.

Male Goblin Vivisectionist Trap Breaker 10

I cant check roll20 right now, is there an adjacent enemy to Cyrus.

Another Step Beyond: Campaign Rules & Guidelines - Notable NPCs & Locations

Yes. The one that attacked you last round but failed miserably...

You should let it live for another round so that it has a chance to redeem itself!

I though Rynjin killed me for a second there, I made a whole post about it too cause I'm dumb.

36 - 62 = -26 That's 11 past my con score, By the rules set by the death condition Shea is now dead. Let us all lower our heads in remembrance of Shea, What crit lol

R.I.P Shae

2019-2019

Though she was too cool for school
so she got crit by a monk and died.

Male Pig CR 1/3 Pig |

Saw you updated the mage class with Wild Shape, I plan on replacing something with that. Most likely shape creature.

Another Step Beyond: Campaign Rules & Guidelines - Notable NPCs & Locations

Go ahead. There are still a few details to change in the spell and some wording to make clearer/more concise, but's it's pretty close to final version.

LinkHp 84/84 ; AC 25, FF 23, Touch 14 ; Fort 12, Ref 9, Will 10; CMD 23 (29 against grapple and trip); Init +2, Perc +9 (low light vision), SM +4

I'm still concentrating on the Illusion so I can make it react as if it's been hit.

I don't think you can move/control the illusion outside your turn, though...

But even ignoring that, the AC of a figment illusion is 10 + Size modifier... Which in this case would be a 9. Since the enemy did beat that AC, it hit the illusion... And then had its claw just go through it without any resistance.

You got *2* enemies to waste their turns, but since water elementals aren't usually incorporeal, attacking the image and going straight through it like a ghost is proof that it's an illusion, which allows the enemies to realize the trick without a saving throw.

This kind of illusion is usually better outside combat... Although images of walls, fire, deep holes, traps and other stuff the opponent would rather avoid than directly interact with can always be useful as tool for battlefield control (I, at least, judge that simply seeing the illusion isn't enough to warrant a saving throw. The creature must actively interact with it somehow, even if it's just stopping to observe it for a moment).

Are they Mindless constructs? If so, they have no Knowledge ranks, and wouldn't really know the properties of a Water Elemental.

Just for the sake of argument, anyway. An illusion eating two attacks is already a step up from how useful most GMs allow them to be!

Male Goblin Vivisectionist Trap Breaker 10

Generally speaking, illusions are run to be completely useless half the time so wasting two of their actions seems alright.

Sorry for the slow pace, everyone... On the bright side, my PC was sent for repair today, so things should go back to normal tomorrow or the day after.

Male Pig CR 1/3 Pig |

You are forgiven.

So... I,ve been thinking about this...

I decided to be more forgiving with when your turn ends... Basically, if you guys forgot an action or ability, you have until the next GM turn to fix it. Not much benefit in ending it at the start of other players' turn in PbP (although that rule still applies in live games!).

There's one exception, though... You can fix it on another post as long as it doesn't involve a d20 that affects another character or is made in response to an ability affecting you (so basically no attack rolls or saving throws), unless for some reason it was unclear that you could've made that roll (e.g.: I forget to mention that the enemy provoked an AoO). This is because the forum oddly allows us to preview our rolls before posting... And while I trust you all to not cheat, it's still my job to do what I can to prevent it (besides... Who never succumbed to temptation?)

So, for example, if Brother Cyrus forgot to use his LoH, he can do it at any point before I post the next enemy NPC's turn, even if Tai Leng and Shea already posted... But if he forgot to make an attack or saving throw... Too bad. That's on him. In that case I might be nice and roll it for you... Or let you roll with a penalty. But you shouldn't count on it.

I think that's a reasonable compromise, but I'd like to hear your opinion on the matter.

Seems weird to assume a character willingly fails a save just because the player forgot to roll it.

Another Step Beyond: Campaign Rules & Guidelines - Notable NPCs & Locations

To be fair, every time someone is forced to make a saving throw, I specifically mention it at the end the post, right next to the character's name (or something like "Everyone"). That way, even if you miss it in the main text itself, you can still check the end of the very post and see something like

Tai Leng: Make a Fort save (DC 24 - Bonus vs poison apply)

Besides, as usual... If it's something really serious, I usually allow you to roll something you forgot (just like I allow you to do it in live action games).

I know you're not out to screw us or anything, it just seems like a weird clause.

Male Pig CR 1/3 Pig |

What's the point of having the Saves on the character sheet if she GM is not able to roll it?

Male Pig CR 1/3 Pig |

GM Vanishes for like 2 weeks, gets mad at players for not posting in 24 hours. What a nerd, am I right? :D

Another Step Beyond: Campaign Rules & Guidelines - Notable NPCs & Locations

I didn't get mad... Simply posted again to have another "1 new post" tag next to the thread's name... XD

Male Pig CR 1/3 Pig |

Ha, makes sense to me, We're here to see those numbers rise.

Male Goblin Vivisectionist Trap Breaker 10

Did Shea's acid cone break the grapple chain? It was within the area of effect.

Another Step Beyond: Campaign Rules & Guidelines - Notable NPCs & Locations

It was damaged, like everything else in the area of effect, but didn't break. These constructs are pretty sturdy... And so are their limbs/weapons.

Remember... Energy damage is halved against objects. And that's before Hardness comes into play.

Male Pig CR 1/3 Pig |

The important question is, Does Shay still look fabulous? Of course Shea does, so we're good to go.

Male Goblin Vivisectionist Trap Breaker 10

Can you give me a rough idea of where everything is right now in text on here? Then I'll be able to post at work.

Another Step Beyond: Campaign Rules & Guidelines - Notable NPCs & Locations

You're luck I got home early...

Another Step Beyond: Campaign Rules & Guidelines - Notable NPCs & Locations

Starting tomorrow, anyone who doesn't post until the end of the day will be assumed to have delayed their turn.

If a whole round goes by, I'll assume the characters skipped his turn for some reason.

Understandable. At least you replied today (I don't count weekends and holidays against the time limit before I skip someone's turn).

Also... Hopefully you can use your renewed motivation to reactivate your campaign... ^^

I don't know, people didn't seem that into it, Nothing wrong with that, Everyone has games they are running and a part of, it's a lot of attention to divide. I'm just focusing on the 1 on 1 I'm doing with Dan atm

I won't have the NPCs anything because I know you aren't quite as familiar with the details of PF rules... But just for future reference, you Shea provoked up to 3 Attacks of Opportunity (Aka: AoO) in this post:

1- She cast a spell in melee (without casting defensively).
2- Made a ranged attack in melee.
3- Moved out of a threatened square (unless her movement was supposed to be a 5-ft step).

Male Pig CR 1/3 Pig |

I misread, They did the grapple stuff from range before I thought that's what was going on again. Don't change the rules for my sake that f~+&ing annoys me, Make me take the AOO

Yeah, Another human for the Human party, Human's Rule!

My next character is now obligated to be an android named Hugh Manbing.

Another Step Beyond: Campaign Rules & Guidelines - Notable NPCs & Locations

If you want I can kill you all so you have an excuse to try charcters of different races... ^^

I probably would go human again.

No way, I didn't say it like it's a bad thing, Humans are the peak of the pyramid.

Male Goblin Vivisectionist Trap Breaker 10

Can I get another pic of the roll20?

I don't know, Those fists of fury would leave me feeling threatened. Especially after man punching a metal robot like it's nothing.

Tai Leng threatens... But isn't flanking. Because his would-be flanking partner (the middle-aged man) doesn't have a melee weapon to threaten.

Those fists are vicious enough to threaten for two men.

I'm beginning to think we should become bandits. Helping people gets us arrested, yelled at, and treated like dirt at every turn.

Male Pig CR 1/3 Pig |

Lem is a cruel god, it's the same in the other game, nothing but hostility for Chester and the others even if they help. Lets be bandits!

Another Step Beyond: Campaign Rules & Guidelines - Notable NPCs & Locations

The lady literally just saw someone obviously important to her being brutally mutilated and murdered. Cut her some slack.

And other than the Wavebravers being annoyed at you (for other reasons), you were always rewarded by your actions. Not only you got paid, you got acquainted with and incurred the favor of multiple influential NPCs.

At this point, there's a dockmaster, a famous alchemist, a captain of one of the mercenary companies, a druid, the whole staff of a famous tavern, an otyugh community... And maybe even a Wavebraver who you could call an ally or friend. Oh! And a shady half-elf too!

Not to mention a mercenary company that while probably not friendly, at least respects you.

Plus whoever benefits from (or just enjoys) seeing the Wavebravers embarassed.

And who knows... Perhaps after more than half a second has past since the guy's murder, perhaps the black-haired woman and her associates will have the hindsight to remember that you fought on their side.

Male Pig CR 1/3 Pig |

Turns out the the final Antagonist was the dm all along.

That's always the case. XD

Male Pig CR 1/3 Pig |

Storm Dragon, more like Dummy Dragon, am I right?

C'mon, everyone... One post a day keeps the "Rock Falls, Everyone Dies" away!

Another Step Beyond: Campaign Rules & Guidelines - Notable NPCs & Locations

BTW, you can all level up.

W-...leveling, In OSB? It's unprecedented!

;p

Another Step Beyond: Campaign Rules & Guidelines - Notable NPCs & Locations

You can stay at your current level, if you prefer.

I'm pretty close to just telling this lady to f&*# off out of principle if nothing else.
