Paizo unnecessarily nerfed a perfectly balanced martial option becaus eit's slightly better than the huge pile of flaming crap that are martial options in Pathfinder?!
I'm shocked...
Next you'll tell me they added pointless alignment restrictions to the game! IMPOSSIBLE!
If it makes you guys feel any better, you can keep the old version of Lore Warden... Not that I think it's necessary, considering we're using Lemmy's version.

yes.
you remind me that old eitylen had a couple o things form lore warden that I don't have anymore ;(

The bonus to CMB/CMD, I planed to invest in combat maneuvers to have something else besides stabbing people in the back and throwing bombs. Now I don't even have bombs...Eitylen goes to cry in the corner
MaUC
Huh... I could swear I replied to this post.
Well, on the bright side, enemies don't get custom class features anymore either. Also, I found you an alternative for the bombs... And I'm pretty sure there are a few Revised Rogue Talents for Combat Maneuvers...
Or at least a Basic Combat Prowess... And anyone can get one of those with a feat.

So, lemmy, I guess better to tell it now than later. But without the class creation rules I'm just not as fond of playing a non-full spellcaster. Also, I'm not sure how to keep Eitylen from the "dark-side", this is, from being the guy whose job is stealthing and murdering people in cold hearth.
So, as much as I like the Naive Eitylen, can I change him after this story arc is over?
MaUC
Lemmy hasn't been on this forum since last year. I do play in his live gaming group, though. I can send him your regards, if you want... Just not Lannister style, because that'd get me arrested. :P
Like I said, I think there's a good alternative for Bombs and some really good Rogue Talents (including one that lets you teleport through shadows). And I'm not sure how Eitylen is about murdering in cold blood than any other character. There are other uses for Stealth, you know.
Still... Your character, your choice. If you want to change characters... Or maybe "re-spec" Eitylen into something different, that's your call. Maybe you could try a "Revised Ninja" or an Investigator... I don't know.. If you have an idea for a custom archetype, just let me know.
(BTW, a cold hearth is a really crappy hearth. ^^)

Well, to be fair, I think it is more weariness of the way pathfinder works. Happily we have some houserules to mitigate it but still. I wish I could swap characters from adventure to adventure (In a vampire game I'm playing I play with my main character childe when I get bored, but, alas, it is quite important to track character power level in PF).
In any case, just tell me when the story arc is over (I don't want to ruin the continuity), and I'll bring an oracle or a sorcerer, perhaps Jo's little brother.

I'm not a fan of changing characters like t-shirts. I want players to enjoy the characters they are playing, but I don't want a laundry list of characters.
I can definitely understand wanting to change characters... But I'm definitely not allowing a new one with every adventure. Create something you like and that gets cool stuff with level up. We aren't using customized classes, but frankly, I give you guys plenty of freedom in character creation, including even the possibility of homebrew.
tl;dr: Sorry you're not enjoying Eitylen. You may re-spec him or change characters if you want. You may not keep re-specing or changing characters over and over and over again. I say that's a good GMing policy and a fair compromise.

I just realized AC in general might be a tad high in low-to-mid levels, thanks to characters essentially adding 1/2 level to AC through the automatic bonus progression we're using.
I don't particularly mind, but it might be somewhat frustrating on occasion when fighting enemies with class levels. I suppose I can always adjust accuracy and AC for the enemies, but giving you a bonus just to nullify it by raising the enemies' to-hit bonus feels pointless and dishonest.
Any suggestions on how to deal with this "issue"?
Eitylen
Normally, the bonus to AC form the ring and the amulet are not smoothly obtained, a combined +3 at level 10 I'd say is ok. So, just don't give that much bonuses at low level and save them for later on.

You know... Now that I think about it, this progression does have the advantage of solving the "Why the hell is a 20th level Fighter just as good/bad at avoiding attack as a 1st level commoner?" conundrum. :)
Meh... I'll just see how things go... If it's too much of an issue, I'll just make tiny adjustments to enemies' accuracy and AC... They can always buy better weapons and worse armor, after all. :)

Eh, I was not here when the guy got poisoned. so, uhm, can somebody point the circumstances of the poisoning (Or the post in question)?
MaUC
Hum, now that I think of it, we don't actually have much gold. Anybody save anything from char gen?
Quick reminder of your starting wealth:
1000gp + 200 gp from Ayren's tiger rescue quest + 1 masterwork weapon + 1 masterwork armor (that you're proficient with).
Those who don't want weapon and/or armor can sell them for 600gp (350 for the weapon, 250 for the armor).

I was waiting for the other party member's opinion...but you are aware that is possible to be less rigid, right?
Well... I was mostly addressing them too. But in any case, this is not so much about being rigid as it's me not wanting to accidentally have your characters do stuff you guys didn't intend to. While I try to keep the game moving as best as I can, I'd rather not do it by forcefully controlling the PCs.
MaUC
Well... I'll be damned... You actually showed up! But I'm still having those pennies until the moment Jaazkara's sheet is finished/updated and her profile actually posts in the gameplay thread! ;)
Feel free to ask me about anything campaign-related. And don't forget to check the Campaign's House-Rules & Guidelines doc.
Call me MaUC, BTW. :)

Thinking about what playing when Eitylen retires. Any advice for a diviner and/or illusionist cha based character? -every time I'm trying to make a spellcaster there seems that there are only the same handful of spell worth taking
Eitylen
I'm too lazy to read about mesmerist. ANd I'm not seeing the relation between illusion/divination and bard/skalds. Though I will take at a look at skald and the bazillion bard archetypes to look for something interesting. Though I was thinking about full-casters.
