Strang
Strang gives up his futile attacks on the devil and goes after the zombie - just to make sure, after Belrain's club thwacks into it.
Attack (Shortsword): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Terion Stoutheart
Scanning his surroundings, without any access to the evil caster behind the devils, and seeing the zombie completely surrounded, Terion decides to take down the hobgoblin while also keeping an eye on the new arrival.
Attack on hobgoblin with PA: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 5 - 1 = 22

AC 19 (18+1)

Felgarr tries to reply to Belrain, but is stymied by the silence. He nods vigorously, and flails around again.
Trip: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (8) + 5 - 1 = 12
AoO, Damage: 1d20 + 3 - 1 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 3 - 1 + 4 = 101d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
GM Tribute
Maggie and Terion finish mopping up the last of the hobgoblin while Strang and Belrain finish up the zombie. Felgarr fails to fell a devil as Ama heals Terion.
As an act of desperation, the three devils rush past Felgarr and Bizzlemont. Provoking an AoO from both (if Bizzle holds a weapon)--feel free to roll the AoOs
The cleric awaits the success of the mini-devil stampede to decide his action.
AoO for Felgarr and maybe Bizzle--then bad guys up.
Felgarr Thundershield
Oh, no you don't. You brigands stay right where you're at!
Frustrated at the silence, Felgarr will communicate his objection to the devil's rush with a resounding blow of his flail.
Flail AoO, Damage: 1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 3 - 1 = 181d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
GM Tribute
devil acrobatics untrained: 1d20 ⇒ 12
The devil attempts to rush past the paladin, and takes a vicious flail strike leaving him barely conscious. The devil seems diabolically resistant to normal weapons. He responds with a single attack. 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 61d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
He moves out of the way, and another devil steps in and rakes at the paladin-- striking with a single attack successfully. 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 91d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 41d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 201d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
The evil cleric removes a scroll and reads it. A dimensional portal begins to form and more devilish laughter is heard.
Party up. Felgar takes 6 pts of negative energy damage from a single devil claw.

HP 0/13
Disabled, combat expertise, smite evil
"TORAG!"
Felgarr cries silently as the devil claws him. He slips and almost falls, but remains standing through sheer strength of will.
He raises his flail for one last mighty blow and swings downward, calling on the power of his god.
Flail+Smite Evil, Damage: 1d20 + 3 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 3 - 1 + 2 = 171d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 1 = 10 (Smite bypasses devil's DR)
As his flail strikes, his own knees begin to buckle.
Felgarr acts last in the initiative order. Unless he is healed, his condition at the end of his turn will be:
AC 12 (+5 armor, -5 dex, +2 shield)
HP -1/13
Prone, unconscious, dying.

I knew we should have had an opportunity to buy better weapons...
"No!" - Terion roars as he moves over the fallen dwarf, even though his voice cannot be heard, he protects him from any further attacks. Moving over to N10

Magnhlidr Whitescale
Magnhildr wastes no time finding a new target. She spots the devil that falls, as we well as the zombie, but neither of these draws her ire like the robed man in the hall. She rushes up to him, a wicked grin on her face.
"Do you yield or die goblin-lover?"
Taking my lumps to get at the cleric. Two AoO's cause I think the others already killed that devil inbetween them and the sleepy goblin.
Bizzlemont Blacktop
I somehow lost this thread. Weird.
Bizzlemont grabs the dwarf as he falls, but it takes Strang's help for the little gnome not to be overwhelmed by the sudden weight. As they lay him down, Bizzle presses his hand up to Felgarr's wound, trying to stop the bleeding.
Heal: 1d20 ⇒ 17
And the blood stops!
GM Tribute
The evil cleric smiles as a demon appears through a dimensional portal. He seems quite slovenly in appearance and looks at the small devils with disdain. He waves his hands and a cloud of noxious gas appears in the room affecting all but Elgoron who is in the corner. Fort save DC13 vs the cloud or become nauseated for 1d4+1 rounds. The demon then moves next to Maggie as the small devils and the evil cleric encircle her.
small devil claws: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 111d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 121d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 81d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
The flurry of claws completely misses the barbarian.
Upset, the evil cleric steps back and casts. He attempts to hold the barbarian helpless with a spell. Maggie feels a paralyzing magic try to hold her in place.
Hold person Will DC 15
Party is up. Fort save or be nauseated all but Maggie and Elgoron. Will save for Maggie. Odds are improving :-)
Magnhlidr Whitescale
Will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
S+!+.
Magnhildr's face locks in a grimace as her body seems to freeze. The cleris doesn't see fear, though there's little doubt what his fate is if she breaks free.
Speaking of which, do I roll another for my action, or do I have to wait a round?
Elgoron
|
Elgoron instinctively covers his face for moment. I'm just outside it? Hah. That caster has poor targeting skills.
Yeah, but if you move into it, it won't matter. And we can't do anything to him from here.
I can't do much either way, so if it's all the same to you--not that it matters--I'm staying put until this either dissipates or the situation changes. Whoever that woman is, she isn't on their side, and I'm content to stay out of the path of her weapon.
...Fair enough.
Bizzlemont Blacktop
Fort Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Bizzlemont's stomach roils, but it passes in a moment.
That was awful! It's like when Mom tried to make that tofu and tuna casserole! Bleh!
That sounds horrid. What is a tofu? Does it live when you're from?
Don't worry about it. Just hope you never have to try it.
Deal.
Bizzle points at the next little devil and shoots a shimmering ray at it.

Belrain resists the urge to vomit, breathing through his mouth. He touches Terion again, granting him a surge of strength again.

Terion seems to be shouting something but his voice cannot be heard.

Felgarr will be getting back up after Ama's last channel?
Ama Freewater
She knew about how much range the burst of positive energy effect she could generate reached, so Ama took a couple careful steps back and to one side, channeling the energy once more. It was so hard to stay calm when her companions were fighting for their lives, likely. Still, she had to do what she could to help them.

Felgarr draws to his feet, rejuvenated by Ama's healing.
He nods deferentially to her as she heals a second time, and draws out his

need to get into position to do something here. We can't just sit around waiting for the worst.
Agreed.
Elgoron moves to N-9, preferably taking a path through Belrain and Felgarr's squares to avoid provoking from the devil in M-10, and then will attempt to strike with his staff.

In the habit of moving things along on Monday.
Maggie tries to resist the evil magic but fails.
Her body locks up and an ethereal serpent seems to writhe around the barbarian, holding her in place.
The prone devil rises, and avoids a shot from Felgar but Terion 13 rolled hits for 1d4 + 4 - 5 ⇒ (4) + 4 - 5 = 3
The badly battered devil is clinging to the mortal plane as ichor streams from his wounds. The two devils and demon attempt to strike at the brave barbarian. devil clawsx3: 3d20 ⇒ (6, 13, 13) = 32
The demon joins in as the cleric attacks with his mace and makes his escape, laughing at the mauling about to occur.
mace/demon claws/bite: 4d20 ⇒ (19, 14, 15, 9) = 57
Maggie is clawed for 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 2, 2, 1) + 4 = 11 hp piercing and bashed for another 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 hp bludgeoning
The demonic and devilish creatures seem to fear the dwarven paladin and do not like being left behind as cannon fodder.
Party up, full attacks even from little guys can hurt. Goblin is awake but blinded.
Bizzlemont Blacktop
If someone can kill the little devil and step into the square, then Felgarr can move through to the demon and engage it.
Bizzlemont tries to blind the little devil again.
