The terminal suddenly locks up. You have no access to anything. You cannot see the cameras anymore, and have no idea where anyone is or what else may have occurred.
The lock pad beeps several times, flashing multiple number sequences across the screen before the lights flash red.
The locking mechanism has just factory reset. It now has the default passcode it was assigned from the factory. If you can figure that out, you can open the door.
Jarl Tehnos
Jarl turns to the Vurk as the pad beeps, "Yep, it's lightsaber time. If you want these things, we need to get in there now and get back out or let's forget about them".
NT-2B
"Unexpected." NT-2B says to the machine as it goes into complete shut down. "And very unfortunate."
Activating his comms, he speaks to the others. "I... appear to have lost all access, including the cameras. I cannot be sure that alarms have not sounded. Unless ordered otherwise, I shall be returning to the ship in preparation for our impending departure. I would... encourage you to move with haste."
Vessani
|
"Right, get the ship prepped for take off, NT. Hopefully we won't be too much further behind you," Vessani said over the comms as he looked at the keypad. "Right, little code, let's see what I can do..." With that, he started with the first sequence he could think of: 1-1-1-1. And from there, he started going up by one digit each try.
Jace Concorkill
How long will it take to cut through the door with a light saber?
Do we have some sort of demolitions that might cover a lightsaber cutting through the door?
Daaneth Qilat
"Right, get the ship prepped for take off, NT. Hopefully we won't be too much further behind you,"
"The ship is already prepared for take off Not2Bee, both of them are, just let Fialla know we'll be there soon."
Daaneth rolls his eyes as Vessani begins cycling through every known four digit code and pulls out the torch they used to cut their way into the building in the first place. While the Zabrak works on the console Daaneth cuts into the door, wondering who will finish first.
GM Phntm888
Plasma torch plus light saber will take 1 minute. Either alone takes three minutes. Jace, are you assisting Daaneth in cutting through the door?
Daaneth begins cutting through the door with the plasma torch, making much more progress than Vessani.
Likar, Perception: 1d20 + 9 - 10 ⇒ (2) + 9 - 10 = 1
Trandoshan, Perception: 1d20 + 3 - 10 ⇒ (6) + 3 - 10 = -1
Human lieutenant, Perception: 1d20 + 6 - 10 ⇒ (12) + 6 - 10 = 8
GM Phntm888
Between Daaneth and Jace, a hole is quickly cut into the door. As the sides cool, the light from the hallway that spills into the room reveals a bookcase, two display cases, and the outline of what looks like a large chair. There is not enough light to tell what's in the display cases or on the bookshelf.
You feel a subtle sense of malevolence coming from the room. The Dark Side is strong in this place.
Jace Concorkill
Be careful here. This place reeks of the Dark Side. Allow me to gather these Sith artifacts when we locate them.
Would I be able to locate them with the 29 roll?
Jeren Vallin
"You do not say," Jeren mutters under his breath as he too can feel the power of the Dark Side permeating this particular part of the building, his hand almost going for his lightsaber as if on instinct. Almost, but not quite.
Use the Force: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Daaneth Qilat
"Hopefully these artifacts aren't too big." Daaneth mutters. He moves toward the wall looking for some sort of light switch to give everyone more sight, relying on his natural togruta senses to avoid knocking in to anything. He keeps his blaster in hand now that he's done torching the wall, not completely confident that they won't be attacked yet again.
Can reroll percepction per talent:
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Flicking a switch next to the door, several stand lamps come on in the room, providing a warm yet not too bright light. You can see more clearly the large, comfy armchair, and other furniture. The bookshelf has surprisingly few books on it, containing only a few manuscripts and what looks like a couple of scrolls. One of the display cases contains jewelry of some kind - amulets, a ring, what looks like it might have been a crown before being broken in half. In the other display case is a sword. It is clearly millennia old, and yet the years hardly seem to have weighed on it.
There is also a slight chill in the air that you didn't notice outside of the room.
Jace Concorkill
Someone or ones, take the what you can of the books from the bookshelf. The other items, reek of the Dark Side. The books do not. as he approaches the other items.
GM Phntm888
Jace gathers up a few trinkets from the one display case, leaving several others. He then turns and gingerly opens the case with the sword. He wraps the sword in the cloth beneath it in the display case before lifting it out.
There isn't any kind of sheath or scabbard for the sword. If you want, you can take a few minutes to rig up a sling of some kind to keep your hands free. Otherwise, you cannot use your hands, as the sword is too large for one hand.
Who's grabbing the books?
Jace Concorkill
Yes, but unlike many libraries the information contained in this one has forbidden knowledge that can lead to ruin states the vurk as he fashions a sling.
Daaneth Qilat
"I'll grab as many books as I can, Jace, but what are we doing with all of this once we have it?" Daaneth asks as he begins storing as many of the documents as he can. "You already made it clear you won't sell them, are they just going to sit on the ship?"
Jeren Vallin
"Seeing as how we are in a bit of a hurry," Jeren quips, all the while helping Daaneth with the books, "it is probably a good idea to leave such discussions for later?"
"More grabbing, less talking," he adds.
Daaneth Qilat
"Not a multitasker Jeren?" Daaneth days with a smirk as he keeps piling on books.
"If we did set off an alarm wouldn't we have seen someone already? Not2Bee said there was someone in the throne room. You'd think they would be here by now."
He looks around to see if there's anything else he can grab. "In any case you may be right, lets have you and Jarl take a forward and rear position as we head back to the ships. That way we've got some sort of cover."
GM Phntm888
Moving out, you quickly return to the hidden elevator and get back down to the hangar. With the sound of repulsorlifts activating, both ships take off and angle towards the exit, Fialla and the Fireburst in the lead.
Who is in the Fireburst, and who is on Likar Molch's Yacht, the Velvet Cloak? Also, don't forget Gibby is back at the spaceport with the White Dwarf.
Jace Concorkill
The vurk will take the items to his quarters and then head to the cabin to see what is taking place. Taking care to place the items carefully.
Daaneth Qilat
Daaneth takes his books into the yacht and sits in the pilot seat grinning. "Never thought I'd get the chance to pilot a luxury vessel!" He says proudly as he starts her up waiting for anyone to board who wants to come with him.
Vessani
|
Relaxing in the common area of Fialla's ship, Vessani propped his feet up and sighed. Really, the whole experience was much harder than it had to be. Go in, save the girl, escape and be rewarded with riches. What was so hard about that? Really, he respected the Jedi Order, he really did, but some of them could be so...so...stubborn! Shaking his head, he got up and walked into the cockpit. "So, we sure there's no pursuit?" he asked his employer.
Jarl Tehnos
On the Yacht
Jarl turns to Daaneth, "Oh now you get to be Pilot too Captain?" He grins and clasps the Togruta on the shoulder.
He then takes on a somber tone and expression, "You know we need to kill this crimelord now right? He'll be sending more goons after us if we don't. If he lets us get away with this he is ruined".
Jace Concorkill
Seeing that they were able to escape with the items the vurk will thank the group for their assistance and ask the droid to accompany him to his room as be begins to inventory what they have.
Daaneth Qilat
"You get to fly the Dwarf all the time!" Daaneth returns Jarls grin with a toothy smile of his own and nods in agreement when the soldier brings up the cold truth.
"Yeah, and he's going to be gunning even harder now that we've stolen his toys." The Togruta sighs. "I think we've gotten ourselves into a bigger mess than we realize. Jedi and Sith? I still don't know that I believe it, but if everyone else involved thinks we're holding powerful objects they're going to be sending some heavy artillery. "
When everyone is on board both ships Daaneth pulls the yacht out of the docking bay and comms over to Fialla.
"Hey boss, I don't suppose you know a good place to crash this do you? Maybe they'll think a few of us died if we can make it convincing enough. Unless you want to sell it. Maybe check your creds before you make the decision."
Jeren Vallin
Carrying his fair share of books, Jeren follows Daaneth and Jarl into Molch's yacht, while the rest of the group enter the Fireburst, joining Fialla. As he puts the volumes down, stretching his arms for a moment, he listens to the two men's banter. And he cannot help but smile.
"Well," he remarks, his nonchalant tone hardly hiding how he truly feels, "this was fun."
Jace, as GM Phntm888 said a few posts above, you do not actually have a room to retire to since neither of these two ships is the White Dwarf, which is in fact our ship (the one with our quarters and all that). These two ships are the Fireburst (Fialla's ship) and the Velvet Cloak (Likar Molch's yacht).
And to make things a bit easier, I think we have been divided like so:
NT-2B, Vessani and Jace (along with Fialla) are in the Fireburst, while Daaneth, Jarl and Jeren are in the Velvet Cloak.
