One of my favorite classes to play in 3.5e was the dread necromancer. For anyone unfamiliar with that class its a caster who specifically specialized in creating armies of undead, it was a spontaneous caster, and if leveled 1-20 you actually become a lich through the class.
I was wondering what, if any, class in pathfinder may be comparable. The main features I'm looking for are creating armies of undead and spontaneous spellcasting. Any advice or suggestions would be great.

I'd say that the class, besides some skills and maybe how Turning/Rebuking works, is pretty much Pathfinder compatible as-is. I've seen quite a few Dread Necromancers in 3.5 and as far as power-scale goes it's pretty spot-on with other casting classes of Pathfinder. No dead levels. Good features. Excellent spell list. Fun play-ability through all stages of the game. It's one of the few near-perfect crossovers.
