3.5e D&D Heroes of Horror Dread Necromancer

One of my favorite classes to play in 3.5e was the dread necromancer. For anyone unfamiliar with that class its a caster who specifically specialized in creating armies of undead, it was a spontaneous caster, and if leveled 1-20 you actually become a lich through the class.

I was wondering what, if any, class in pathfinder may be comparable. The main features I'm looking for are creating armies of undead and spontaneous spellcasting. Any advice or suggestions would be great.

This is the Dread Necromancer from D&D

I'd say that the class, besides some skills and maybe how Turning/Rebuking works, is pretty much Pathfinder compatible as-is. I've seen quite a few Dread Necromancers in 3.5 and as far as power-scale goes it's pretty spot-on with other casting classes of Pathfinder. No dead levels. Good features. Excellent spell list. Fun play-ability through all stages of the game. It's one of the few near-perfect crossovers.

Watch where you link.

I am very surprised Paizo didn't publish their own version in Horror Adventures.

Liberty's Edge

The closest you can get from paizo is probably a bones or juju Oracle. Maybe agent of grave levels if you want a maximized HD cap.
