Gnome Alchemist Wizard?

My group is coming close to the end of Chapter 3 in the anniversary edition. But none of them has the crafting skill (Alchemy) to even try to make a cure for the plague. So my question is how high of a level should i make this Alchemist Wizard. I want them to have a chance but i want to show that the plague has had an affect on the arcane community as well. Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure what you're asking. Do you want to make an NPC with alchemy? In that case I'll present the person who found a cure for the plague in my campaign. Her name is Sirtane Leroung, the sister of House Leroung's leading lady Eliasia Leroung. She is a professor in the Leroung university, who specializes in alchemy.

BTW, to include the PCs in the finding of a cure, I had Sirtane send the party to Bloodsworn Vale to find rare ingredients for her mixture. You can read all about the adventure in my journal. I obviously took some inspiration from the adventure module Conquest of Bloodsworn Vale and then ran with it.
