Need help posting, and the linked FAQ doesn't help!

Website Feedback

I can't find a better messageboard for this. (And it's annoying, btw, that the "Need help posting?" link doesn't go to anything that actually helps with posting!)

Ummm, this was going to be a longer post, but in writing it and testing some of the options under "How to format your text" I figured a couple of things out. (Like the blue text here.) So writing this post has been effective, faster than I had hoped! 8-O

One more: I see people put in links to other threads. There's a hint at how to do it under "How to format your text," but sadly, I can't figure it out. I'd love it if someone walked me through it, please.

Simple, you put (url=insert link here)Whatever you want to name it here(/url)

Just replaces the () with []

So to link to this thread for example it would work like this: (url=http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2tx1q?Need-help-posting-and-the-linked-FAQ -doesnt-help#1)Need help posting(/url)

Replacing the the () with [] gets you: Need help posting

Pathfinder Maps, Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Maps, Starfinder Roleplaying Game, Starfinder Society Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

Linking to other threads is accomplished via the URL reference, which is the third example given under "How to format your text." If you have the thread that you want to link to displayed in your browser, copy the URL from the address bar into the format shown (between "[url=" and "]").

Rysky & David, thank you. I totally blanked on the idea of copying the URL from the browser, or understanding how the text after the first code would function. Stupid user trick #2,047!
