Vital Strike feat versus the undead

Rules Questions

Can Vital Strike be used against the undead? How about against a incorporeal undead?

Undead are not immune to sneak attack, and even if they were Vital Strike would work on them as normal because it's not precision damage.

It has nothing to do with anatomy or any of the things Sneak Attack has to worry about, you just find a certain point and make a focused attack on that, which you can do to elementals, oozes, and undead as well as everything else.

Actually, incorporeal undead ARE immune to sneak attacks. That's why I was wondering if Vital Strike can be used against both incorporeal and corporeal undead.

As Blackwaltz said, Vital Strike damage isn't precision damage, so it doesn't make any difference if the target is immune to sneak-attack or other precision damage sources. Incorporeal undead have no special resistance to Vital Strike.

That is because of the incorporeal quality, not because they are undead though.
