Down The Blighted Path GM questions

Adventures

I´m having issues with the Down The Blighted Path module. I´m going to be running it in the not too distant future, so I though I´d get a head start. My issues are two-fold and have to do with the actual map of the Blighted path:

1) Depth. There are these weird lightning icons on the map and I´m having trouble discerning what they mean. Is it a raapid change in depth, a chasm or...?

2) Length. The Module states that a dwarf party (which my party will be), will advance around 4 miles a day. How long would it take to traverse through the Path? I´m from a metric country, so miles are difficult. I made some preliminary calculations and it would seam it would take about a day and a half, if they do not stray?

Thank you for any assistance and forgive me for any silly questions.

1. I believe that the lightning marks signify a distance between 2 areas on the map that would otherwise be too large to show on one map. I assume that nothing significant happens in these gaps. I would treat these distances as mostly horizontal, but i am sure there would be some depth differences as well.

So after exploring area G, it looks like there is over 20,000 feet of tunnels before you get to area H, etc.

2. approx 5000 feet to a mile, theres over 120,000 feet in getting from Area G to area M. Assuming dwarves go 4 miles a day, thats around 20,000 feet, so it would take around 6 days to get through. If you use exact numbers maybe you can get it down to 5 days. If this is too long for your groups playstyle, you can always "shorten" some of the gaps.

Thanks, that makes a lot more sense! I thought it was weird that an epic Dwarven tunnel was about a day’s walk and had random 32,000 foot drops here and there!

Is the lightning mark a common occurrence? This is my first time seeing it personally.

4 miles per day is about 6.4 km / day.

The Exchange

I did find an Errata item on page 15. It should be Haunt not Aunt. Though I did find the Aunt particularly funny
