Carrion Crown what languages should a PC take?

Carrion Crown

Liberty's Edge

One of my players is asking for suggestions on which languages to take for the AP. Any suggestions?

Asides from Taldane and Varisian, Necril is the obvious choice.

There really aren't any necessary languages for CC, but Varisian can give the party some interesting optional info.

Liberty's Edge

I recommend Hallit, being the language of the Kellid barbarians responsible for erecting those ancient monoliths all over the country like the Spiral Cromlech in Lepidstadt.

-Ancient Osirion (Esoteric Order of the Palantine Eye)
-Necril (numerous undead)
-Aklo (Wake of the Watcher and baddies in book 2)
-Infernal (a few enemies speak it in Books 2, 5, and 6)
-Hallit (As stated above)

Hope that helps! As mentioned, none of the above are essential but help in expanding dialogue and some story details.

Aklo is also good if you decide to include the Carrion Hill module in the AP between books 3 & 4.

Necril? What book is Necril in? I have never heard of that language.

It's from the Inner Sea World Guide (p251). It's used primarily in the underdark, but is considered the language of the dead. It has elements of Aklo and ancient Osirion. There are a number of instances in the AP where its useful to have.

aaaaah i guess i need to go back over the list of languages sometime lol

Hmm wonder if I should give it to my bard... she has a lot of languages from her intelligence.
