My wife loved his shows. I enjoyed them too, when I watched them. RIP, Anthony. You will be missed.

Saw this in the news this morning, and am stunned and sad.

He was the sort of person that... well, I don't know if he and I would have gotten along personally, but I very much admired and respected his experience and expertise. He was a self-described "snob" who appreciated real food and real city experiences rather than whatever was trendy and "safe," and I really appreciated that about him and his works--the substance he provided was deeply needed in an industry that increasingly was about shallow style. I am distressed to hear greater demons got to him, and pray he rests in peace.

Allot of honest wisdom has come out of that NYC born mouth of Anthony's. But no more so than his often quoted saying "A simple good thing."

I think that Tony would approve of a good meal shared with friends and a good strong beverage shared the same, that is how I will honor him this night.

"Don't touch my d*#k, don't touch my knife."

Yep, that was Tony.

Just gonna leave this here...

"Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind."

Maybe that’s enlightenment enough: to know that there is no final resting place of the mind; no moment of smug clarity. Perhaps wisdom...is realizing how small I am, and unwise, and how far I have yet to go.

It was amazing to watch how the world forced him to grow and change as a person. Most of the time celebrity deaths don't touch me at all, but he had given the world such an intimate look into his soul that I can't help but mourn for the person we all lost.

This one cut deep. I feel like I need to comment, but I don't have the words. I hope his girlfriend Asia, his close friend Eric, and his 11-year old daughter can find their way through this darkness and devastating grief.
