Con Eyes of the Ten?

PaizoCon General Discussion

Grand Lodge

This might be in the wrong place and might not work, but I had a crazy idea. Would it be possible to play through eyes of the ten at Paizocon? I just hit 12 and would like to play it, but no one in my area is close to being there, let alone able to go it.

Dark Archive

It has been done before with some tight scheduling. Having a four day weekend (vs 3 days) makes it much more feasible.

I would be interested. I have a healing oracle. Or enough AP credit to make almost anything. The game is 4 slots or so, right?

Dark Archive

Actually 5. Part one takes up two slots, but you get one chronicle (with 2 xp). The other three parts all take up one slot as normal. I'm sure after the lottery is assigned and people know their slots, something can be arranged!

If all of my players had been able to make the trek, we were going to give it a shot. Sadly, our playthrough will have to use Roll20 after all.

I was glad we were able to get Rich Lightheuser into our Eyes of Ten group, even if we had to run his character posthumously for the last scenario. Oddly enough it was the only scenario in that series that his character didn't wind up breathof lifing Mike's character who died 4 times in that series.

Sovereign Court

if my schedule fits id be interested, i have a invulnerable rager that is close to 12

I think Ben Bruck and I in, depending upon lottery pulls. I think we should, collectively, start looking for a GM.

Just an FYI - Eyes is officially 5 slots (5 XP), but in my experience it's closer to 7-8 slots in play time. Con pressure might shrink that some though, just wanted to warn ya.

Grand Lodge

My flight gets in late Wednesday, so I should be available all of Thursday to get this started. I know we're still waiting to find out about lottery pulls, but we can probably work around those. Hopefully.

If you're interested, post what your character is and your current availability or if you're willing to GM.

I may be able to get in early Thursday.

I have a ton of AP credit, so I can be flexible. But, I am leaning toward my oracle ( life mystery, blackened curse).

Good to hear... I was worried that there was something wrong with us that we didn't manage to get through EotTI in two Roll20 sessions. (It sounds like we probably have 1-1.5 hours left for it.)

I blame myself for not automating those high level stat blocks enough. The fights were long enough without me being slow about it. (The power surge taking me out of the table for that 15-20 minutes didn't help either.)

Eh, it's all good. I'm happy if the sequence takes 7-8 sessions instead of 5. I'd rather actually play it than rush through it.

And that makes me incredibly glad to be running it for you.

Yeah, both times I ran it it took about 35 hours. {in person}

After the lottery,I am still interested.

My open slots (or slots that could be made open) are:

Thursday????

Friday Morning
Friday Afternoon

Saturday Afternoon
Saturday Evening

Saturday Morning
Saturday Afternoon

Monday Morning

Who else is in and when might you be available? Anyone willing to GM?

Grand Lodge

I'm available all of Thursday, Friday afternoon, Saturday afternoon and most likely evening, Sunday afternoon. Haven't heard anything about anyone willing to GM

Sovereign Court

I am very interested and willing to withdraw from any games necessary to make it work.

Character highlights:
Decent offense, high defense, great support for melee characters, useful in a wide variety of situations

Mystic Theruge - casts as sorcerer 11 / oracle 8
initiative +12, perception +20
offense - feeblemind DC 25 (roll twice), 12d6+24 fireball
defense - 140 hit points, saves 15/18/15, healing and restoration spells
liberally uses dimension door and misfortune revelation to control the battlefield
social skills +16, knowledge skills (all) +13 to +18

I am consistently able to play my turns quickly.

That's impressive. How did you do that after the FAQ on spell like abilities.?

Sovereign Court

after the lottery myself and my g/f are very interested as we lost every single afternoon game we had when they redid it. i can bring a healer, barbarian or wizard, she has a fighter

Intriguing. The lottery system/open scheduling failed me as well (generally), and I suppose I could GM this adventure, although the preparation is anything but trivial. It sounds like there are at least six people interested, although I'm seeing a few that are somewhat half-way commitments on scheduling.

If I do this, I could make myself available in the following slots:

Thursday evening
Friday Morning
Friday Afternoon
Saturday Morning
Saturday Afternoon
Sunday Morning
Sunday Afternoon
Monday Morning

This would appear to largely overlap a few peoples schedules here. And it works out to 32 hours right there. I don't recall it taking 32 hours when I played, but our GM was not strong on characterization or NPC interactions.

I have game mastered sufficiently to move things along at a good clip without (I think) making folks feel rushed, but it would be a lot more convenient if we could find a space where I wouldn't have to talk over the masses. I fear for the feat of endurance it would take to GM that many hours back to back, and for my voice (particularly since I'm naturally a bit soft-spoken).

I don't want to commit to anything yet; I need some time to mull over things.

PFS characters that were played as a prestige class before the FAQ change are grandfathered in. Sorry; I don't have a link handy. I will make sure to discuss it with our GM, of course.

Sovereign Court

thursday evening and all afternoon slots work for me, i have 1 lottery game and it was the 1 i marked with a 1 so id happily drop it for eyes of the 10. my g/f is in the same boat as she went from a full schedule of lottery to zero lottery games

Any updates Tangaroa?

Sovereign Court

would love to see an update on wether this will happen

Grand Lodge

I'm leaning towards no at this point. Haven't had enough solid yes's or anyone to GM it

Sovereign Court

I'd recommend against playing at a con. Part one can easily run over, and you'd spend the entire convention playing it, most likely. Better to schedule it at some other time and enjoy the convention itself.
