Hey,

Does anyone have experience with how long level seven and above of Emerald spire take to run? Are they all day runs, or shorter?

I have already run and played some of the lower levels, prepped pretty much everything else, I would plan about 2 - 2.5 hours for level 7 and 8.
Of course if your table has more than 4 players, and/or takes longer than usual in combat, obviously that increases the run time.

Levels 1, 5, and a couple of others with unusual enviromental effects have the potential to run longer than the 4 hour slot, but some levels are very quick (3 takes about an hour... or about 30 rounds, level 4 takes about 45 min to an hour, either way).

I'm running all of them in PFS mode for my local GMs at my house so they can play them before running them. Here is our experience thus far (5 player table).

I rate them how we would schedule them in GA, either a scenario-length adventure (<5 hours) or a double slot (5-10 hours)

Level 1 - Scenario
Level 2 - Scenario
Level 3 - Scenario
Level 4 - Scenario
Level 5 - Double
Level 6 - Double
Level 7 - Scenario
Level 8 - Scenario
Level 9 - Scenario
Level 10 - Double
Level 11 - Double
Level 12 - Scenario

That's where we are now.

I would say combo levels 3 and 4 into the same slot, but there is a chance player actions may cause them to go over the 5 hours timeframe. Yes, there is a chance Level 4 will end in 1 hour, but there is a chance it will not.

i concur with carlos, also L13 & 14 run long

I've run everything up to 11, except level 5 in less than 5 hours online. Level 5 took 2 4 hour sessions.

Excellent, thanks a lot.

I mostly agree with Carlos, but many of the levels are very dependent on how much role-playing you (and your players) like to do.

If you are treating it as a "dungeon crawl, kill 'em all" experience, some can be quite fast.

For example level 4 can be completed in 30-45 minutes of straightforward combat, but I've never had it go less than 3 hours due to the roleplaying. You can also add time and - in my opinion - a better experience by really exploring the people and locations of Fort Inevitable; though that should start to taper off after level 6 when the NPCs will really have no idea what is in the Spire and can't really contribute much knowledge or quest suggestions other than the missing wizard (and the generic "Go Explore!").

So far, here's the results from my tables:

1: 4-6 hours, dependent on party races
2: 5 hours
3: 4 hours
4: 30 min-4 hours
5: Data unreliable. My players broke the scenario.
6: 4 hours
7: 2-3 hours (seriously, this level was disappointingly short.)
