Elven curve blade throwing build

Advice

My friend is looking to build a character based around throwing elven curve blades. He's thinking half-elf for the free weapon proficiency, and I'm guessing Two Handed Thrower would be useful. I'm guessing Throw Anything as well, unless it applies only to completely non-weapon things and not thrown melee weapons. Other than that, what other feats are needed? Are there any classes that lend themselves to it (besides obviously fighter for feats)?

Throw Anything, from what I can tell, is valid. A weapon used in a way it's not designed becomes an improvised weapon, such as a lethal weapon doing non-lethal damage. He'll need Quick Draw in order to get multiple attacks. Close-Quarters thrower will keep him from getting attacks of opportunity against him. Distance Thrower lowers the range penalty by 2 (since thrown range is usually so low). He'll still have to look into all of the normal ranged combat feats too (Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, etc).

Another class option to look into might be the Ranger, with the Thrown Weapon combat style, or the Barbarian Hurler archetype (which also opens up feats like the Raging Hurler, which doubles the range increment during a rage).

Thanks! I couldn't remember if thrown weapons needed all the usual ranged combat feats or not.

I was looking at possibly slayer as well, since you get all the goodness of the fighter combat feats while getting extra skill points and studied target on top, with the option of using the ranger combat styles to get some feats prerequisite free. He's looking at possibly going into a few levels of shadowdancer as well, so Stygian Slayer could be super thematically appropriate and useful.

The one thing I'd say about any thrown weapon fighter is that remember the Returning quality doesn't return the weapon until the next round and then to the square it was thrown from. As a result, he'll likely never have a higher-level magic weapon.

I did remember that (which he was slightly saddened about), but our GM is usually amenable to custom magic items as long as they aren't ridiculous, so it shouldn't be hard for us to re-skin a Blinkback Belt to work with two-handed weapons. That way, you only have to have two.

While not particularly helpful in your case, there is Raging Hurler barbarian rage power (if he goes barbarian)
