Adamantine Falchion for my hunter?

Advice

Grand Lodge

I've got a melee hunter (so comes with Outflank for me and my pet). I'm thinking I should get a Falchion because of the increased threat range. I've got enough that I can afford to make it adamantine, but I don't know if it's worth it... I feel like it's kind of missing the point making a slashing weapon instead of a bludgeoning weapon so I can get through obstacles. Suggestions?

I'd say adamantine is always worth it for your primary weapon. Besides being able to make any kind of doorway you want, it will also make it more durable versus sunder, especially against anyone with an adamantine weapon himself as adamantine can't bypass adamantine's hardness.

As far as weapon choice, I'd say go scimitar instead of falchion. You're losing 1.5 average damage per hit, but one handed weapons are more versatile; with a scimitar you are able to use it two handed for extra damage (like the falchion), but also in circumstances that don't allow two handers, such as in a grapple.
