Voidstick Zombie Divine Check

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

This question came up as we played last night. Does the Divine penalty apply to the Divine Check to Defeat? "For the rest of the turn" doesn't clearly denote when the penalty begins, like "When you encounter the Voidstick Zombie, for the rest of the turn..." would.

Sovereign Court

I would personally play it as "When you encounter". To me, if it doesn't have a clear explanation of when, it's when you flip the card. Just like you instantly activate immunities, you would instantly activate "For the rest of the turn".

A clarification would be good though.

That's how we played it, and it's probably right. I realize now that when I first saw the card while sleeving and read it I was thinking it would be for after the check to defeat (just how I interpreted it at first read).

I had inadvertently posted an interim wording on the Voidstick Zombie. Updated.
