ok, so was just trying to brainstorm. my group has been playing the kingmaker setting for a lil while now and we just started clearing the forests at lvl 12apl. or course, the fey got mad and tried to fight us. they knew they'd lose so they challenged us to duels instead. wizard pair with nixie, barb with satyr, bard with Perlevash, fight with tig, and cleric vs dryad. everyone destroyed the opposition except the cleric wanted to take the dryad as his wife, Mongolian style. He's neutral so taking a wife in this manner doesn't really faze him. My question is: is there a way to allow the dryad to sever her ties to the current tree without killing her? i was thinking a permanency casting of break enchantment to deal with the sickness but that was my grasping attempt. then i thought would changing her race do it? but then she wouldn't be a dryad anymore. help? thanks

how about
1) moving the tree in a city capital
2) transmuting it in a samaller version of itself so it can be put in a jar and carried around
3) making the dryad commit suicide as an extreame reaction to the defeat (i don't understand if the dryad is ok with the marriage...but my gues is no)
4)making a bigger fey (hamadryad?) give some special permission
5)making a quest so that they can recover the sacred bvbranch of something wich can allow a dryad to wander the land
6)the awaken idea is gorgeous and opens up for the fact that the tree could still die/be attacked and the same fate would hit the dryad (ala Dragonheart)

Found a city and build a home around the tree. Talk about a "kept woman". Not really much choice but to be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen when it's literally the center of her world.
(I'm not a pro barefoot and pregnant, guy, so please don't take that as my statement, but it definitely seems to follow the Mongol style trophy wife kind of adventurer.)

Pretty sure feet aren't the only thing bare when it comes to dryads, so that doesn't actually imply much, whereas a pregnant dryad would be quite interesting. I'm fairly certain reproduction for dryads was covered in Fey Revisited, but I can't find my copy at the moment, but I don't recall them needing 'help' to reproduce, so the result of actually having a child with one would be intriguing.

Dryad update:
Finally got our High Druid to Awaken Tiressia's tree, with her permission, and escorted her back to the woods.
She's off to find Falchos now, after being stuck in our capital for about 5 years.
GM didn't have any problem with it.
