Yes. I've been having some good luck in multiple areas getting all types of pelts.

Yes, they are still available. Try looking elsewhere. :P
In the build on live right now Creature Pelts can be found in 36 hexes and Monster pelts in 35, so it will take some hunting but are around 16,000 of each present at the base resource level.
