How should I combine a new order with a pending order?

This used to happen automatically - if I placed an order for additional items while my regular monthly subscription order was pending, I was able to combine the two orders.

This didn't happen earlier this month (see this thread for details), but Sharaya was able to fix that for me.

I've just ordered a few singles from the "Lost Coast" set. The only shipping options I was offered were the standard Mail/UPS/.. choices, plus an option to put the items in the sidecart - no option to combine this order (#3376241) with an existing pending order (#3317836).

Am I doing something wrong? If so, what should I be doing instead?

(If I'm doing things right, and it should have been possible to combine the two orders, I'd appreciate it if you could take care of this for me)

I'm not sure why it didn't give you that option and I have filed an issue with the tech team.

I've also combined the orders and sent you a new confirmation email.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but ...

I just placed a new order (#3376976) for a couple of additional items I wanted to combine with my pending December shipment.

Again, the only shipping options I could see were "Ship Immediately" and "Sidecart It" - no option to combine with my pending order (#3362520). I chose "Sidecart It", and placed the order (and have received the confirmation eMail).

Am I missing something obvious, or are the gremlins running amok?

(It may be coincidental, but for a couple of minutes after placing the order I was unable to view my Order History - all I got was an error screen.)

Update: It looks as though I might have caught the system in the middle of finalizing my order; I've just received the shipping email for the December shipment. So presumably while it showed as "Pending" when I looked just before creating the new order, it was no longer pending by the time the new order was actually placed.

Yeah, it looks like your order got processed as part of batch a little while ago. So, yes, I'd say you were trying to add items to it while the warehouse was trying to ping it for processing.
