So this archetype has the following :
" School Focus (Ex)
At 2nd level, a winding path renegade continues the training she left behind, gaining the benefits of the mystery taught at her old monastery. As the winding path renegade progresses in her self-guided training, she gains deeper understanding of her chosen monastery's mystery, which grants her new powers."
Is this flavor text? Of those it serve a purpose?

It's mostly flavor. However there are two mechanical aspects of this ability.
1) The PC now has a class feature called "School Focus", to my knowledge this currently has no impact on the game, but if ever they released a feat with a prerequisite of "School Focus class feature". Then you now would qualify.
2) Retraining. Under the retraining rules for retraining an archetype, you spend time, money (and in PFS Prestige Points) based on how many features the archetype has. This is a bad thing as it makes the archetype harder to train in or out of, though this is likely intentional given the flavor of the archetype.

Are you looking at this archetype on d20pfsrd.com? In the original book Advanced Class Origins, there are three mysteries indented under that ability to clearly show their subordinate status to School Focus. At 2nd level you pick one of them and begin gaining its benefits.

Well silly me for not looking at the book first before posting. My bad, listen to David there.

This is now fixed. Note that the abilities WERE there, but they were formatted as separate class features, not a subset of the School Focus feature. Regardless, it is now corrected. Thanks Crazy Alchemist for reporting it!
thanks, I notice this after some looking, but yes I was confuse because I thought they were separate features
