Need some ideas / help for new character

Advice

Hi there,

Recently some friends and I started getting back into Pathfinder.
Unfortunately our group ran into a nasty ghoul and it was a total party wipe (four level 1's dead to a stupid ghoul, ugh).

So now we're back to making new characters. I have an idea and I'd like to hear what people think or to make suggestions.

Rolled stats, in front of GM and others (17, 16, 18, 14, 17, 13).

My last character was a bard (arcane archer) and he was fun for the 1 level I played him, heh.

But I also am trying to play classes I have not played before so I don't want to re-roll him.

So my first idea is a half-orc bear shaman (druid). I like the idea of taking on the tank role for the group and the possibility of the wild shape and summon spells. I use a great axe due from orc heritage.

First feat is Fortitude for myself and bear animal companion.

The way I figure it, I end up with 16 HP, bear has 19, I have an AC of 18 using hide armor and i'm swinging for 1d12 with my axe.

Should this work? I don't see this character going too much past level 9-10 as this group is only meeting once a month and i'm expecting to level maybe every third session so at the end of next year we might be level 4-5.
