I Hope this is the right place for a question, not 100% sure.
Looking at my (PDF) copy of the Midgard Campaign setting book, It almost looks like the entry for the Gearforged race is lacking some important information.
I noticed that there are no Ability Adjustments listed for Gearforged? Do they really get no ability adjustments, or should they get a floating +2 like a Human? Seems odd that they get none.
I would have expected some amount of natural armor (They are, after all, made of metal), but nothing is listed for that. Even a Kobold gets +1? This is compounded by the next thing I noticed.
With no CON score, a Gearforged is going to be rather low on HP, unless they get the 20 bonus HP of a medium sized construct (which seems like a lot) or use another stat to determine bonus HP? I don't see that listed anywhere.
I Love the flavor of the race, and have a player interested in playing one, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think character building with no CON score is covered in the bestiary and advanced race guide. For the purpose of HP they are assumed to have 10 CON. After that they would get their hit points from Hit Die.
This has advantages and disadvantages. On one hand, its nothing they have to worry about and normally comes with an immunity to just about anything that targets Fort saves. On the otherhand, not much HP and usually at 0 hp you just die. I don't know if this is the case with Gearforged but it's normal for constructs in general.

I'm not sure why it's not in there, but in the racial traits from the Gearforged advanced races pdf, they have:
Gearforged gain a +2 racial bonus to any one ability score. Their makers pride themselves on fitting the body to the needs of the soul.
(I believe) it should include the statement:
(When generating a darakhul character using a point-buy system, you must still spend sufficient points for a Constitution score of 10.)
which is what it says in the Crossroads Guide for darakhul, but the same omission is in the Crossroads Guide for gearforged. Darakhul racial stats are not in the MCS.
(I believe) I know because I discussed it with the AR:Gearforged author when he was working on it, and I've worked with gearforged for quite some time. That's always what I do with them when generating them as PCs, and I've made a couple for the Kobold Iconics. For NPCs, I cheat a little and put the 8 there, because, well, it's a little advantage-- unless the character would be better suited to an 8 somewhere else. (Heck, if you're going to become a gearforged, scrapping a bum constitution as an NPC seems like a small benefit. ;) )
And I have to admit, when I added it to the darakhul, it was because I'd spent a decent amount of time writing for organized play, which uses point-buy more than I've seen in home games, which have (in my experience) tended more towards rolling for stats.

These are odd - you're right. As of the Advanced Race Guide, gearforged do receive the floating +2 that Ben mentions, as well as +1 natural armor.
Also, after much consideration in the development mines, gearforged do have a CON score. (Game) mechanics aside (har har), I think this is perfectly reasonable given the potential breadth of quality in GF construction.
