Hi James Jacobs, I have a question for you on Cheliax Asmodeus and His followers. With the World Wound being over run by hoards of Demons who Asmodeus hates. Why would Asmodeus not promote some of his Chiliaxan followers to the Ranks of Devilhood? This would cost him nothing and would gain him more souls. This seems like a win win for Asmodeus at no cost even if some of the new qusai devils survive the battles to seal the world wound, Asmodeus gain strong minions who owe him fealty and can be used in his other plots against the other Arch fiends

1. There's no such devil-demon animosity in Golarion as there is in D&D with Blood War and whatanot. From the devil p.o.v. demons are a uncoordinated, pathetic rabble that occasionally upsets their plans but never to a degree that would make Asmodeus raise his magnificent eyebrow.
And those are some eyebrows.
2. In order for mortals to become outsiders, said mortals must die, reach the proper plane of existence, serve as petitioners aaand then they, at some point, become outsiders. So if Asmo wants a devil army, first he needs an army of dead LE people consigned to hell. Which is likely an entertaining prospect for his Infernal Excellency, but quite a long-term one. Damning entire nation to hell isn't something that happens overnight.
Also, Asmodeus is the lord of hell. The whole thing. This is the go-to destination for every LE, or contract bound, soul in the planes, including every world of the material plane. If he's noticed the wound at all, it's probably just to make sure it isn't a risk to Rovagug's prison. Otherwise, he doesn't care. He's got minions to take care of these problems.
As for the minions, it's quite probable the patron(s) behind Cheliax are concerned. The hellknights are an active part of the crusades, and some material on the fate of the Grey Maidens indicates the church of Asmodeus continually trains and sends crusaders north.
