Advice for a Tiefling Inquisitor of Iomedae

Advice

So recently my GM has purchased the Wrath of the Righteous AP. I have read through the Player's Guide for WotR a few times now, and my final decision on a character is a multiclass Tiefling (Pitborn) Inquisitor.

I am going to start 1st level Heretical Inquisitor of Iomedae with the Heresy Inquisition for my domain. Combat during this time will be all about stealth and (hopefully) some situational preparation. When I hit level 2, I am going to become a Divine Hunter Paladin. Level 3 will also be in Paladin, getting all the goodies. From that point forward, I am going to take levels in Inquisitor.

Here is what I must have to fit my character's background and style.
1. My weapons are daggers, cestus, long swords, and crossbows. My damage is pretty low with my 11 str.
2. I am dex based for AC and Stealth-based combat so Power Attack is not an option.
3. My traits are Chance Encounter (campaign trait) and Magical Knack (Inquisitor).

I have the obvious Inquisitor spells taken for the style, which is Wrath and Divine Favor.

The true issues come with the mythic power. When we get there, there is not a clear cut answer on how to keep scaling with the other party members. Inquisitors get the shaft like that. I am thinking Mythic Weapon Finesse as my first tier feat. I am pretty set on Trickster and dual pathing into Champion later. What path abilities and mythic feats would keep my damage/attack bonuses and class abilities comparable with the core classes gone mythic?

You guys must not know what to do either.

Mechanically, multiclassing Inquisitor and Paladin is an awful idea, at least in point-buy, as they rely on an utterly different set of stats, especially as a Heresy Inquisitor (who can use Wis for many social things). Don't do it.

Just go straight Inquisitor. You'll do fine and can use Bane and Judgments to Smite people if you like. Drop Charisma to 10 or so and use those points to up other stats you will actually use (Dex, Wis, maybe Str a little).

Now, as for Mythic path, Trickster with a side of Champion (maybe only via Path Dabbling) and a Mythic Feat or so into Mythic Spellcasting actually sounds pretty awesome for an Inquisitor. What's not to like?

I was initially thinking, "forget you, man. I said I was playing Paladin. I'm doing it." But that was all Roleplay elements from the background. I don't need to be a paladin to play like a sneaky paladin.

Indeed! A LG Inquisitor basically is a sneaky Paladin, or at least can be. They are their God's Rogues in the same way Paladins are the God's Fighters.

More details on build and stats would help with providing additional advice, since that's hard to figure out without more information regarding such things.

Are you doing the switch hitter thing? That's doable as an Inquisitor of Iomedae, certainly...though trying to wield a Longsword with low Strength is gonna hurt. Maybe better to stick with a dagger.

Yeah. Currently, my cold iron long sword is going to get rusty. I am trying my hardest to get a crossbow mastery style Inquisitor going and sink my mythic path abilities into a legendary crossbow that is going to be a lot like Hell Bolter, a crossbow of speed.

Crossbow Mastery is doable, if not quite optimal. Along with Weapon Finesse if you so desire. Additional stuff beyond that gets tricky, though, as ranged combat is Feat heavy as it is, and adding in the couple of Feats you need to make Crossbows really good makes it harder.

Something like this:

1st: Point Blank Shot, Weapon Finesse,
3rd: Precise Shot,
5th: Rapid Reload
7th: Rapid Shot
9th: Crossbow Mastery (if you want to go with a Heavy Crossbow, otherwise, skip it, move the others two levels sooner)
11th: Manyshot
13th: Deadly Aim

Honestly, you're better off going with a bow. But if it's necessary thematically, go for it.

I feel Inquisitors should run on the rule of cool. And I am a Tiefling so Weapon Finesse is going to get thrown out along with my chances of surviving in melee combat for awhile.

So far, I have a Tiefling Heretical Cold Iron Inquisitor of Iomedae who will take Sniper's Riposte as their first Tier Mythic ability.
